Can exchanges steal my ether

I suppose if it were a phishing site where You've entered your private key it would have more stolen funds, because a scammer would definitely have couple of victims.

How did you move in to there with your private keys? You mean you used yr priv key and loaded it online with the exchange? Never do that. If you must do stuff like that always do it offline.

Can't help you much now though. Best is to leave comments on those address with etherscan and hope for the best. Sorry about your loss but you know better now.

If you are leaving your etherflyer and you keeps it logged it for months and then it may possible for your friend to see your account already logged it and he was creating a transaction to his address.

This is the most likely possibility, it's strange that you can leave your account opened for months, but if you do that, it's like letting your home doors opened all night, anyone who access your computer physically or via malware could access your account easily.

Your wallet is been compromised and if you are already thinking that your friend might be the one responsible for it then it means you have no privacy over your PC or laptop, the ETH is gone and its not coming back so just abandon the wallet and get another, this time make your privacy top priority

possibilities of the cause might be one of the following. .
1. You mistakenly leaked out your private key
2. You fall victim to phishing links when browsing the web
3. Your friend betrayed
4. Your PC is hacked either by spyware or malware

I guess that your friend decided that you have abandoned cryptoworld (as there were no movements in wallet for 250+ days) and transferred your ETH.

Try asking your friend if he knows something about that transaction.

You sound as if you already know where the fault came from,your post is already holding your friend responsible for the missing ETH so why don't you just ask him? And before this happened why did you share your wallet with your friend or how did your friend knew about your ETH?

There is no way that it will be logged in for so long. I even leave my wallet in decentralized exchage but it will be automatically logged out. It is really hard for a crypto wallet to be hacked unless you have share it with someone so basically someone you know did that thing.

I agree, maybe private keys were entered on phishing site without being notice or you left your private key with your friend. A device that was not log out  can open by someone immediately after you left. No one to blame but you because you are responsible on your own private keys.

What I only see here is that your friend is transferring some ether to the new wallet. You have you own private keys, and you can only access that through that except that your friend also knew your private key. And haven't the exchange send you a warning that some different IP address has logged in to your account? You can trace it by that.

I don't get it why you would enter your privatekey to an exchange, its not like you can't create another account into it. Etherdelta and forkdelta though allowing traders to login with privatekey, you should just create new account and then send your funds there. There may be transaction fee but those are just few coins.

The most tangible reason could be that a friend has your password and has used it against you. Either than that, then you didn't log in to the genuine Etherflyer website. Decentralized exchanges dont have access to your password

Exchange never does that.
During my play here (crypto space), I never found an exchange that took our assets. Be it eth or other crypto. Because the exchange will keep their good name for. If that name has been damaged, people will not trade again there.

I experienced it too, I never use Idex before but 2 months ago I used it for the first time because the token that I was holding listed there. Just like OP, I used my own wallet and integrate it with them. I did not logout because I thought everything will be fine, but 2 weeks after I am using it. All of my balance and tokens were moved out,
so I think everything is possible, they might not do it openly but the chance for them to do it is high too.

Exchange always wanted to have a good chance working with the traders, convincing them to stay. So it's hard to believe that they are the ones who's gonna wreck up with your assets, not unless the sites have that reputation for scamming people. It's not easy to trace who's going to be the one who did this to you. But same with many other people who replied here, chances that your friend who knows your private key can transfer your ETH.

Other than that, phishing site also have possible if you didn't bookmark the site.

It can be anyone, if you have shared some information with your friends, exchange or anyone else, you can forget about the safety of your funds. Transfer all of your tokens to a fresh wallet and forget about this exchange.

Did you share your private keys with someone else? Like others said, you might have entered your information on a replica site and you might have got phished. Also your computer might be infected with a virus, so make sure its clean. I have heard of viruses that reads your clipboard (when you copy something). I don't see any other reason for your private keys to be stolen. I am pretty much sure it wasn't etherfly.

I could be your acquaintances that has your security codes or you have mistakenly logged into a phishing site without be aware of it for that long. Is unfortunate, to retrieve it back might be a mercy case, that is if it is your friend but a hacker might not return back.
