That news just a rumour and nothing to be proved by the ripple team. The recent movement of ripple price caused by a little bullish trend has come for altcoin to fight with the bitcoin domination in the market dude and you must see that.
If ripple is very fast and why bankers are choosing R3 rather than use ripple chain?
Billions ripple will come to the market soon.

Xrp has a very large and strong community, I know some of them are extremely passionate xrp, Plus the XRP team will not sell more XRP by the end of this year. That makes me confident that XRP will have an impressive growth later this year.

XRP is not entirely a cryptocurrency! It is more like a digital version of Western Union who is trying to gain some prominence in the digital remittance market. XRP team has been pitching their products to a lot of money exchanger, Banks since a long time now.

If I am not mistaken, ripple has already struck partnerships with Unionbank or Philippines and Moneygram at the beginning of 2018. But it didn't help ripple in any way. Don't even think that Ripple has the capacity to compete with bitcoin.

judging by the situation of ripple or xrp , im still also having doubts on it, but im holding a small amount just to make sure, yes they have partners in the philippines even coinsph also have xrp wallets

Who knows because you know now adays  there are some  factors that  always suddenly occur just to manipulate the growth rate which is without knowing because of being so volatile as well. This is the best opinion I read so far. XRP will never be on top because it just contradicts the law of cryptocurrency which is decentralization. this coin have a very strong community that possibly can trigger the bull run. but usually every alts bull run started when the bitcoin price makes a move. So in conclusion XRP will have a bull run, when the bitcoin trigger it. Does it gonna be on top? I think totally not. For me the possible coin that will replace the bitcoin on top is the ETH or EOS.

XRP is centralized but not backed up by other centralized coins so the prices will keep increase when its usage increase but I don't think people will use XRP for longer terms so you can consider it for short term investing.

$5? Don't hope that much yet even talking with .5 is already hard to consider and come to think the entire supply of XRP itself.
It wont really come to such state. Talking about surpassing bitcoin which is hard to believe.Why not xrp try to beat up first ETH to its 2nd spot?
They had able to do it but its only temporal yet ETH do able to reclaim that spot.For now this centralized coin is just right to remain its current spot or even lower I guess.

i dont see any good reason at all that xrp will beat bitcoin not today not tomorrow. xrp is trying hard in terms of their adoption but seems that they are not progressing at the pace they want.
and getting the popularity level of BTC? i seriously doubt that. how many crypto users are using xrp vs btc for their daily tx?  your guess is good as mine

$5 will be difficult to reach in a short time unless there are many updates for ripple so it could give a chance for the price to increase. Without any significant update, it seems it's difficult for ripple to increase even for breaking $1. If there is a big pump which comes in the market, the price will increase, but I am not sure that the price will stay like a real price because when the pump is over, the price will be back to the normal price. But I doubt if xrp can compete with bitcoin even xrp is hard to compete with the other coin which has the same price.

The market is down and this is the right time for XRP to show some power but it looks like its dumping hard too so I think it will be impossible for XRP to arrive at top of the altcoins since ETH is still better. In short term run XRP will just like the other altcoins who keeps on beating and trying to survive, long term price should be high.

yes bitcoin is down and all altcoin is down too. for the present situation it will be difficult to see the growth of XRP or other assets. we must wait for the movement and growth of bitcoin to be able to see altcoin start moving in the market.

Bitcoin will always be number one. Ripple is just the coin (not crypto) that is good for bank operations now. They say it can even replace SWIFT and Western Union. Thus, its price is not supposed to climb up, but the market capitalization can grow. I would use XRP,  but not for investments (I do not think that here we can win much soon), but for personal exchanges and transactions.
