I've been creating content on steem for a long time. It's already the third year creating there. I tried a lot of applications built on it. I like that the transactions are very fast ( only 3 second ). I like that there are no fees paid while we transact any amount of money. I like that we can upvote people and make them earn some money, just from creating content. The more stake we have there, the better our upvote is and that's the proof of stake.

The only thing I don't like is that we have only 7 days to earn from a particular content, but even that can be good, because that supports the actuality of the information.

Now I'm growing and improving in the video platform built on steem and you can find my content here : https://3speak.online/user/clixmoney

You will always find a lot of information about steem in the web.

Steem is one of the most active blockchains in the world and you can find that here : http://blocktivity.info

You can check also all the applications built on steem here : https://steemapps.com

You can also see how many famous decentralized applications are built on steem compared to other blockchains : https://www.stateofthedapps.com/dapps/platform/steem?page=1

But in this thread I want to hear the opinion of other people about steem.

Of course most steemians are positive about it, because they are already staking and creating there. But I want the opinion of people who are outside of steem.

I would like to see as well steemians sharing their opinion about the blockchain.

Let the discussion starts and let's know what the world think about the blockchain I'm passionate about.

You will find me there as @clixmoney.

Cheers.

Steemit as a platform for blogging is very attractive, because you always getting income for your work. But Steem blockchain in general is not great, because they are going maintenance always every months for several days, when it is impossible to send/receive or post.

Reality speaks I think it's all because of the difficulty for the creators. But I think if they will lessen the difficulty, this will cost a lot for steemit. Though there's still a lot of contents that are making decent money. It's all about your content.

After mainnet, too much promise, too little work was done. Postpones, delays and other platforms' growth rates have declined Steem. I think people don't want to deal with Steem mess anymore.

That was an issue before, but they've finally started to get things done.
HF21 was a pretty big success, bid bots have become really inpopular now and we're seeing a lot of manual curation again.

They're also on track to get SMTs released pretty soon and they've been really good at communicating, which wasn't the case before.

I'm doing really well for myself there!

Just check my stats:

i don't really know steem as a cryptocurrency or a blockchain, i think like most people i know it as a platform which looks a lot like reddit (steemit). and although it was advertised as decentralized platform for content creators and at first it looked that way but nothing about it is decentralized which is why i never liked it.  i think it would have been a lot better if they found a way to make it really decentralized and p2p instead of a website like any others.

You are good with your points and I agree to an extent though. I have used steem blockchain for various activities of which content is the mostly used, however owing to constant upgrades, unnecessary rules etc the blockchain is lagging behind. Don't get me wrong, steem is a good blockchain at least it sets the path to social media blockchain platforms, but I think the team really needs to come up with more features which will attract more users other than pushing them away through unnecessary uprades and delays.

I considered joining Steemit for a while, but I figured it's a waste of time back when all those people got fired. Interestingly enough, Steem survived, although it did go way down the list. It might be worth a second chance, I would love for it to go viral and become a success — I'm just not sure that it will.

It's not about the ranking in coinmarketcap, it's about all the things that are built on it. We have applications for almost everything. And we are just 3 years old, there are a lot of things to improve and after the hard fork 21 things are going really better. That's why I'm promoting it now.

Did you know that the volume can be faked in coinmarketcap ? Try to find information about that in the web and you will see. There are people take money to fake the volume using bots. So, coinmarketcap is not showing the real value of altcoins !

That's not true that they ''are going maintenance always every months for several days'', the hard fork happen once in a few months till a year. The last hard fork we had about 2 months and everything is working well now, we had to wait just couple of days. The previous one we had about a year ago and that was a bit longer, just about 5 days and that's ok, because the hard fork is not that easy. The most importnat is the things we already have built on it, but not if it's updates or not. All the updates are helpful to any kind of website. The other important thing, is that paying for more than 3 years, so it's a reliable investment of time and money.

Steem will be a good blockchain related to content creation till the end. Lets face it, lots of new platform now with same concept had their idea with steem and no doubt that old timer here will agree with me. Ive been a steem user and I can say some flaws has been risen but steem still fixing some bugs and issues but its not basis to create fud that it isn't good. Like steem blockchain, fast, and secure.

I recently joined the Steem ecosystem and I am still learning from it. I am very excited about this new rewarding ecosystem "Steem".

I followed your instructions, followed links and joined couple of forums. This move will attract more and more visitors to 3speak and Steem or we can say entire Steem Blockchain.

Thank you @clixmoney for providing this opportunity and chance to participate in this valuable discussion.

Steem blockchain with their popular article sharing platform that we call "Steemit". Idk why their platform UI still the same since the first time I using steemit in 2017 for making an article for a content campaign. No much improvement on their website and their UI I think is outdated also I hate the fact you can't delete your old or wrong article in steemit platform"

Just need to wait for another platform like steemit coming and we will see the end of steemit...

Steem is premined which makes it suspicious. It became popular in the 2016 - 2017 time for altcoins and then died out of popularity even though some members of this forum seem to prefer it over bitcoin, which is just because they want to follow the trend. In steem you need to gain a userbase to upvote your content and the OP here is actually self-promoting their own Steem account so that it becomes worth of more Steem Dollars.

You literally need to spend coins to buy the Steem Power to promote your account for upvotes - like begging for money with money. A shitshow at the most if you ask me. But for the one who have contact with the owners they could upvote their accounts to a larger degree than average general members and thus earn a lot. It may be good for some bloggers and vloggers, but not worth of the time for those who prefer to have a full time job.

You can't even compare Steemit to the 0x platform. Steemit may have lost popularity, or the old veterans may have left the site, but instead, the platform you proposed is 10 times worse.
Right now, there's no blockchain-based social media platform that I can take seriously apart from Steemit. I'm waiting for Voice, the new baby from EOS, and I can tell I'm pretty impatient about it.

Steemit is made based on blockchain steem like Bitcoin which has its own blockchain system. On trading exchanges such as Bittrex and Poloniex, can be traded with other coins. but the current facts reveal many new users on steemit who don't understand cryptocurrecy.

It's crap. Steem blockchain is just another iteration of Dan Larimer's Bitshares. It is also almost the same thing as EOS. Larimer keeps making new blockchains out of the old ones to cash in every time. Why can't he just integrate every feature into one chain?
