The most popular payment methods to buy Bitcoin in 2019

I am wondering what is this information based on. PayPal, WeChat, Neteller, Skrill are no surprise, but some other services were unexpected. Not to mention that localbitcoins did not make it to the list... Like some others, I've never used any payment method from the list. If I want to buy/sell BTC, I use a local online exchange with direct transfers between bitcoin addresses and bank accounts. It requires no KYC, it's easy to use, and there's a useful website in case of my country that evaluates the exchanges based on customer reviews in real-time. As for some of the most popular payment methods according to this list, they are mainly unavailable or have limited functionality in my country anyway.

Does your bank happy with the wire transfers coming from bitcoin exchanges?
You can read several times here on the forum that the bank account was suspended/restricted/etc... because of incoming fiat wire transfers associated with bitcoin.

Of all the most popular platforms you list, I only use the Paypal platform as it is very popular in the MMO field. However, with other platforms, I have never heard of it before. My online activities always use Ethereum as a currency for exchange. For each different user, they choose different Altcoins to select as payment currency.

Because the price of coins through this service can be more expensive up to 10 to 20 percent compared to direct purchases on the market exchange. and there are also special fees for these service providers.

I went out on a limb giving OP some merits for his post, and I'm hoping none of it is copy/pasted.  It's a damn good list, and it's one that I find important.  I don't think the average newcomer to bitcoin knows exactly how to buy it, so a summary like this is pretty useful.

I've always used PayPal to buy bitcoin on the forum, but it always requires my counterparty to trust that I'm not going to screw them over with a chargeback.  It took a long time here before I earned enough trust to be able to consistently do PayPal deals and it's not something newbies can do--same thing with any reversible payment method.  There have been innumerable scams using PP or similar payment methods, and a newbie might even get tagged for proposing to buy bitcoin with it.

I've heard of most of them but haven't ever used them.  I think a lot of those payment methods are popular in certain countries, not including my own.  PayPal is pretty much king in the US.  That doesn't make it safe for bitcoin deals, though.

Such a long list, and I only knew a handful of them. Im not sure, but Paypal is very familiar around the world. I worked in a BPO company before, under Paypal account and that was way before crypto currency became this popular. Common concerns was the shipping issue that needs to be escalated lol. Im just wondering if Paypal CSR's handles crypto currency related concern nowadays.

Im registered in my local crypto wallet for almost 3 years now and done KYC. Im fine with it even though theres a particular level from your account, and each of them have restrictions on withdrawals and deposits. I havent gone too far than declaring my small business, because they were asking for it to increase my withdrawal limit.

I simply do not use any of the method mentioned above to buy Bitcoins.  Buying and selling Bitcoin is most easy and secure on any P2P exchange for me. Localbitcoins is the most trusted P2P exchange for me to buy and sell Bitcoins. It provides me the facility of buy on sellers price or place my own bid to buy Bitcoins and vice- versa for selling BTC. It also provides with the trust ranking of all the users there to chose from and also payment is instant. I believe P2P exchanges are the most easiest way to buy and sell BTC currently.

I prefer to buy my BTC via CoinMama, I am really upset with Coinbase, I accidently clicked my expired Debit card linked to my Coinbase instead of my updated card. Due to the mistake they charge me almost $165.. I never received any Bitcoin out of it and I called them as soon as I had made the mistake... They said do to blockchain technology you cannot cancel a payment. Which I understand that, But I did not buy any coins I accidently used the wrong card. All I needed from them was to cancel one debit card an use another. Needless to say my coinbase is still -$65... I am slowly paying it off but I do not agree with it. As far as selling Bitcoin goes I usually just sell for paypal. I usually do all my sales here in the Currency exchange threads. I understand paypal can be quite risky. But I only deal with well trusted users. As far as on bitcointalk I have had absolutely no chargebacks as of yet!!! (Knock on wood) But I also do my own research before selling to any user. I check the users trust ratings as well as who left which trust ratings, Then I check those users trust ratings as well!

Those are traditional payment methods and using them is not an easy way to buy bitcoin as you still to need find to trust the seller or him trusts you. The process of buying bitcoin it depends on your location, in some countries you can easily buy bitcoin without much difficulty while on others locations buying cryptocurrency is very difficult and risky. The paypal is not the perfect options even if it's available in your country.

Thankfully didn't have to go through these lists to buy some bitcoins. we already have a local exchange (coins.ph) that helps us to buy bitcoins in the easiest way. unlike buying bitcoins with paypal, in coins.ph you only need a local ID's to prove your KYC or even not you will have some annoying limit though then that's all as it matters you are ready to buy your first bitcoin.

And I found out, some of the methods on your list need you to have a complete details of your KYC before you can buy some bitcoins, like for example you need to verify your PayPal first to avoid a complicated issue with your payment.

Some of the people can't do that thing because not all of us can get documentation easily from their countries. some people took months just to get a single ID. that's why we're so thankful to have coins.ph with us and some of our local exchange to they give us the convenience to convert our bitcoins into fiat and smoothly withdraw it without a problem.

I just simply use my online wallet which is coins.ph to buy bitcoin. For me it is the simplest and easiest way to buy bitcoin because I just to need to cash in my money and convert it into bitcoin. I have not try to use all the method that you have say in buying bitcoin but maybe I will try it to use it.

well i think all this is base on the country in which you reside in as most of the African countries dont use or accept all those method and i also never use any of those platform to get bitcoin before but in one way or the other i get them through vendors and luno at my first time but using exchange  to get what i want and sell to vendor anytime i need fiat too.

I can and could use some on your list but never Paypal, I have a horrible experience buying and selling Cryptocurrency using Paypal, they have a chargeback and you have no chance of winning the arguments if they find out that you are buying and selling Cryptocurrency, it only works if you have mutual with the other party, doing it in a stranger will get your account limited they are very much against Cryptocurrency.

It is okay to use what OP mentioned if you guys are going to buy a little amount of bitcoin like .1 - .5 BTC but higher from that, I don't think so. You're lucky if you know someone who have plenty of bitcoins, you could buy to them personally to avoid being scam online using different methods on buying bitcoin. I've used paypal one time when I was just a beginner and it just gives me anxiety that results to overthinking. It was so unsettling because it took so long before I receive it (I've made a successful transaction, by the way).

I do not use the said methods to buy bitcoin, I also use local crypto wallet which is very popular in our country. In their application you can buy ETH, XRP, BCH and BTC. Four cryptocurrency together in one wallet, so the users can easily buy their preferred crypto at anytime and anywhere.

You should try buddy. I have used some if it before like paypal, skrill and alipay. They are quite good! Their customer service is nice, their user interface is good, also their security is good also , but if you have a wallet in your country that has that pairs its good for you, it is more convinient. There are lot of methods to choose from, you should try.

I actually use the Bluebird by American Express account anytime I can, either using the abra app to buy & when buying on paxful.  It seems to be the easiest I've found but of course I still use paypal from time to time if I have to.

I often use some of these payment methods to purchase bitcoin. It's also an advantage that we have our own local wallet to buy, convert and pay different establishments online with Bitcoin. Buying or selling isn't a problem in our country because of our own local wallet. We can even pay tuition fees and some of our necessities through it. There will be transaction fees but it's all worth it because it provides convenient and faster transactions.
