Put A Neutral Trust if you have LENT someone

I had a little exchange of ETH/BTC today with Zerbis.
He has 3 positive trust from DT and 3 from others. That's why I have gone upfront. He said he will pay immediately but sue to his personal problem, he could not pay as promised but later he paid me.
I have no problem with him, no complain against him, shit happens.

But, when he was late and iwantapony shared one of his active loan, I was worried, although I was worried about Zerbis (Something wrong with him).

Later, one thing I realized that it's easy for someone with an active loan to scam other users and get away.
Just imagine, with his 3 positive feedback from DT, he could have gotten a big amount upfront as well. I didn't check his post but checked his all feedback. He could easily scam me + loan. Hopefully you understand what I am trying to say.

So, isn't it better to put a neutral feedback on user if you have lent him and the loan is yet active?

Once again, this thread has nothing to do with Zerbis, just used his case as an example.

PS- I am confused where to post this thread, please share if you think another board fit better than reputation.

I think that is what advised in the loan section to the lenders. I can not find the reference but I read it somewhere that once you give a no collateral loan then leave a neutral feedback. But we need to admit that it's up to the lender.

People use this technique to farm green trusts as well,I did mentioned about this few times but don't want to mention anyone particularly because it will bring hard feeling between us.So DT members be responsible while you are giving green or positive trust to someone.Think twice or thrice to give green to paid loaners and neutral will be good enough as well.

I recall putting this idea earlier in one scam thread where the guy ran away getting two loans. It is a great practice to put a reference regarding active loan so that others know about it.

I think there were few guys who did in the start but right now I don't see it very often.

Lenders have long used "lending" as a way to inflate their trust score and the trust scores of newbies that "borrow" tiny amounts from them.  If neutral trust was a requirement, I'm guessing we'd see 99% of lenders disappear.  

edit: addressing Vod’s latest lie below, I’ve declined to leave trust on small trades far more times than I’ve left it. I certainly wouldn’t loan someone $10 and leave them a trust rating for paying it back... Plenty of users have complained to me that I’m too strict with my sent trust ratings.  I guess when people on both sides are complaining, you know you’re being fair.

Sellers/Escrows have long used their services as a way to inflate their trust score and the trust scores of newbies that interact with them in any way.

Yes, I've always been puzzled why those at the top seem to hand out green trust with minute trades.  I've noticed some users such as The Pharmacist clearly stating that he will either *not* give any feed back, or, will only give neutral feedback/trust wall for his trades, so at least some of us agree with the OP on this one.

That is how you stay at the top.   People are much more likely to trust you if you trust them first - right Techy?  With the ballooning DT1, trust abusers like Techy and OG will trust everyone they can. 

Those who earn trust for non-trivial reasons will have a difference between those they trust and those that trust them.  Why does an escow have to positive trust both his users, when he never had to trust either party?

It's the same way with merit.  Do you think OG keeps a spreadsheet of those he has merited, so he can be at the top of that list too?

Surprised people who understand this forum so well are confused by what positive feedback means, and it's relevancy to interactions with people.

OP I agree I won't lend anything without leaving a neutral tag. It's just another great use of ... feedback. It works great as long as people investigate to find these notations. I actually had this exact conversation earlier this week, and gave almost the exact same scenario.

Another thing which we should do is to read on what basis the Green trust was given. If a user has all the green trust only because he deal honestly with the DT, then you can still ask for an escrow. Also it has been told many times as not to trust anyone blindly and follow all the precautionary measures, even if he / she has green trust as everyday is new day similarly every deal is a new deal.

Forum trust system is undoubtedly a great implementation but only we can get best results by using it properly. A proper feedback can save lots of user from being scammed but on the other one inappropriate feedback is enough for helping scammers to complete their scam game. I agree that lending service is helping many of us but we have to keep it in mind that scammers can easily take the chances of getting positive feedback by taking loan.

As an example one scammer can take loan and repay on time where it could be one of his strategy to achieve enough amount of green trust before committing his final massive scam. So from my end i think its better go with neutral one.

We were talking about not just randomly trusting  the people on the basis of few trading trusts. If you need escrow then you should go through the escrows on the below threads and chose only from them.
