After doing my research, I found that as of August 2018, there were over 1,600 cryptocurrencies. Presently, I'm sure that there's a great increase in the number of cryptocurrencies. This is because almost every time, new cryptocurrencies are created. With this and some other improvements, it is obvious that the Blockchain technology is really spreading. However, a lot of people have little or no idea about the Crypto world.

I was really surprised when I realised that only about 8% of Americans own Crypto money, and they are mostly men.
Some say that the Blockchain technology isn't really going as far as it should because most users don't really confide in others.
What do you think is the reason why the Blockchain technology isn't adopted as fast as we suppose it should?

I don't have a real statistics but blockchain seems to be one of the fastest accepted modern technology. It's rise to the fame was quick but it's the restrictions and regulations that are making people skeptical about it's future use. It's further adoption is halted due to legal issues as most of the countries are making it illegal to hold all or some cryptos.
With so much development going on about blockchain, it would soon be an integral part of our society while cryptocurrencies as such still has an unpredictable future.

You can't really say there is no improvement in blockchain adoption, this is a technology that the government feels threatens their control power because of decentralized currency like the bitcoin. There has been raging war against the bitcoin by the government and big banks, which has made many commoners in the society think their government is right. Well, many persons listen to the government on financial matters, yet the government and the capitalist are the problems of our slavery economy. Recently some persons have started coming out on how to implement the blockchain on some pressing areas like voting, data storage, and many others.

Crypto regulations is one of the aspects why more people want to use it and adopt the technology to their businesses, but not limited to its volatility behavior.

I think adopting blockchain technology in a national state requires much longer time than a merchant adopting it to accept payment.  There is a need to regulation, rules, amendments to the constitution if there is conflicts and that take time.  Aside from that, the challenge lies on the people who are intended to use that technology.  For example, a merchant can implement crypto payment but it would be difficult for him to implement if the other end (customer) do not know how to transfer cryptocurrency.  So he have to explain it to those who fell short of knowledge about the basics of cryptocurrency transfers.

First of all, Cryptocurrency and blockchain are two different things.
There might be only 8% Americans who own crypto but Blockchain as a tech is getting adopted at a high speed. I work in a bank and here they have integrated blockchain in their system for speed transfer of funds and also for automating the process of credit letting. Not only banks, they are innumerable examples from technology to retail sector where blockchain is becoming a breakthrough. But when it comes to virtual currencies, adoption is far less because of uncertain nature of it which increases the risk associated with it.

How did you come up with the 8%?

Its true though that there are only few of us in crypto.  Businesses can easily adopt crypto by simply having a wallet where they can receive payments but with customers who only knew fiat makes it difficult for the wide spread adoption. 8% is actually a good number in just one continent. We'll see in few more years.

First of all, the fact that there are many crypto tokens does not say anything about adoption. These are immature ways of making one's own money, one's own usage. And it all seemed very exciting in 2017 until the vast majority of projects failed. Secondly, even though Blockchain is spreading indeed, there are some nuances to the process. For instance, sometimes it's Blockchain that is embraced but not cryptocurrencies, and this is not necessarily a win for us. Another thing is those centralized tokens that might even pose a threat to cryptocurrencies because they are very similar but don't promote financial freedom and can be strictly regulated and controlled. As for the rates of adoption, if we look at the growing number of Blockchain wallets, this number is increasing very slowly if we ever want to compare Bitcoin with services like PayPal or even Apple Pay.

first reasons is affraid , affraid of losing money since crypto currency price is not stable more people is affraid investing in to it ,all do this will help to make transactions easy and fast its still difficult for them to invest .
2nd is no idea what will be the use or how to use crypo currency .

Blockchain is not easy to learn specially people from uneducated countries won't be able to adopt blockchain technology near soon. We're seeing new cryptocurrencies every day but how many people behind it? Not much. How many people from the world use crypto every day? less than 5%. But the good news is we're in the adoption process. Every day we're getting new users in this Market. Crypto MarketCap will play a good role in generating new investors. Investors will do the marketing for crypto. If adoption takes a long time then it will be good for bitcoin. Since Blockchain technology just came around 10 years ago we should not be worried about the adoption. Around 28 years ago the World wide Web went public but still, a large number of people is not getting benefit from it. New cryptocurrency can't help with adoption. Banks & the government can when these institutions come forward and adopt crypto with good intention we will see a big move in the adoption process.

Your own surprise also should give you the conclusion that, most of those coins are not needed and are destined to fail. There are barely any that approaches Bitcoin's level of decentralization and adoption, and those few with "some chance" to co-exist, are relegated to some obscure place.

Blockchain alone isn't secure, therefore talking about it without decentralization is useless. What, you can have a single node doing a blockchain, that wouldn't be much different than a traditional database would it?

But then you need to learn what a blockchain is, and not use it as a new buzzword because somehow mentioning Bitcoin isn't corporate friendly...

First there are lot more than 1600 cryptocurrencies. Only coinmarketcap is showing 2904 cryptocurrencies and remember that coinmarketcap only list the currencies which have some value. There are thousand more which are not listed on it as they did not fulfil the criteria.

Now comes the adaption part. Crypto is growing at a rapid rate but the reason it is not adopted yet is that the governments do not want bitcoin to be adopted. They do not want to lose the control over the financial system and hence they always speck negative about it.

You were surprised that it's only 8%? This is a lot for something that became popular in 2013 when people first heard about MtGox collapse and Ross Ulbricht.
Bitcoin is in the news but usually shown as something bad or worthless. It's not a new food that everybody wants to try out but an investment painted negative by many well known people including Buffett, Gates, even Trump.

8% is  a big achievement!

That is the point. A lot of people are just unaware about the Blockchain technology. If I asked someone next to me about the Blockchain technology, I strongly doubt I'll get an answer.

I strongly support the aspect where you speak about fear. I also believe that some (or most) people are really afraid of losing their money. Adding to that, this fear could probably be caused by scam stories and experience.

In my opinion, Blockchain has a few adoptions even though there are just a few people around the world the popularity is sure increasing, But it doesn't mean that the number of created coins will sure base the popularity of this kind of technology, but as I said there are a few that have notice blockchains worth, and there are few Blockchain-based services other than record purposes to cryptocurrency, And if you would search  the net you would see that some establishments that are working to use blockchain for conveniency of their work.

Example of these is for Banking Records, School Records, Office Records Election powered by Blockchain technology, Parking, And many more!

Blockchain is not easy to learn specially people from uneducated countries won't be able to adopt blockchain technology near soon.

Kinda harsh statment there?  Would be better to use underdevelop but still underdevelop countries have geniuses that can absorb and learn new technology really well, I wonder if there is such country that is uneducated.

We're seeing new cryptocurrencies every day but how many people behind it? Not much.

True!  Many project have same people behind especially in ICO cryptocurrency.  It seems that these developer won't have enough.  They keep raising a crowdfunding campaign in every idea they got that they wanted to implement on the industry, at the end they are lagging because of too much workload.

How many people from the world use crypto every day? less than 5%. But the good news is we're in the adoption process.

Honestly I think it is way less than 5%.  Raw market if adoption really take place.

People are impatient especially on the cryptocurrency industry.  A week for them feels like a year because of the fast phase price changes (high volatility).  So they worry to much about adoption and is worsen by the get rich idea in their mind.  But I agree with you, adoption will come in as long as everyone is doing their part on awareness program and not taking advantage of the uninformed people and exploit them to get more profit.

I was really surprised when I realised that only about 8% of Americans own Crypto money,

im surprisd too.. especially when there are only under 30million addresses valued over $1 used for the whole bitcoin network.
so if your saying 8% of americans have btc. then the other 200 countries must only have like a few hundred people using it...

i could then say, ha ha ha that disproves the myths that 'china owns btc'..
i could then say, ha ha ha that disproves the myths that 'btc international currency'..

but the truth is more so that the number of americans using bitcoin is much lower
though not so accurate if you look at the node distribution by country, as a flimsy bases for possible populate stats

then out of the 30million addresses of value america is only 25% meaning 7.5million people = 2% population
whereas from the 30million addresses of value germany has 20% of network nodes, meaning 6million people = 7% population

thus suggesting bitcoin is more popular in germany

ofcourse some of them addresses of small amount can be held by just one person so number of people having coin over $1 value could be far less than 30million worldwide. but saying that 30million of just americans have btc.. is a stretch based on the number of addresses with funds
