I do not think that this is the way how to gain adoption of cryptocurrencies.
China, North Korea, ECB are creating own cryptocurrencies, but why they don´t use Bitcoin? They want to manipulate the system?
I think the point of creating national cryptocurrency projects is just that. This is a kind of analogue to the usual national currencies. Any state wants to control the financial processes in their country. National cryptocurrencies will allow full control of the blockchain systems and at the same time take full advantage of the technology.
This kind of government will not allow any people from their place to take advantage of cryptocurrency, They are trying to create their own versions of crypto coin as an answer to this emerging new system. The leaders are not ready to allow bitcoin as they can't control everything and instead of adoption they are introducing the versions that they can easily manipulates and control to whatever they want.

I think this is a big step or move by North Korea to get doors open for Cryptocurrencies.
This will not only benefit that country's users but will also help entire cryptocurrencies market a kind of boost due to increase in investment.

Hmmm! little rocket man trying to get freedom for his citizens. This will help his citizens to gain from the global market, as for the state cryptocurrency, I am sure the US may thwart their effort because of existing sanctions. They should just adopt bitcoin as an alternative payment medium and forget sate own coin.

there are lots of mouth watering projects in the news and I think they could bring money to the space. I hope we have some stable coin and more of volatile coins, cause volatile coin are liable to encourage massive trading volume and more fund. Asian market is big, with wider adoption and fund, they should not just delay any more.

North Korea though having a bad record. if they are really and genuinely embracing cryptocurrency for purposes of noble and civil economic expediency, this will go a long way in ensuring global acceptance. Who knows one day we will look back and remember them as having helped transform cryptocurrency perception.

Although quite controversial, this rumor is not something new. As a fairly strict country, North Korea plans to create their own cryptocurrency, of course, this makes it easy for governments to monitor the "activities" of their citizens, the internet is controlled. Either this is just a rumor to frighten the US or indeed a strategic step that might be able to go beyond Asian countries that have adopted cryptocurrency first. I am sure with the various benefits of using cryptocurrency, this could be not just a rumor.

North Korea has become very interested in creating its own cryptocurrency and has a sufficient level of competence to move forward with this plan, But that's not all. On Sept. 10, Cao de Benos tweeted that the North Korean authorities have allowed citizens to own cryptocurrencies, and local developers “are designing crypto wallets and other related apps right now.

Great to heard about the good news, well" meaning crypto is important currency and a lot of government realized crypto are can bring good economic growth to adopt crypto at their nation. This decision of north korea to allowed crypto to use their people and to use crypto wallet is great decision to help people convinient to make online payment and transaction using the new technology.

For some reason, I don't believe that because Korea is not a developed country. Most people there are poor, and they have not used new technologies, what kind of cryptocurrency can we talk about?

For now it was just a mere speculations regarding North Korea, but if ever there's possible implementation I guess the government also is within control with the situation since it was not yet fully developed country. Technologies like crypto was not fully merged with freedom unlike with south korean government.

It's hard to believe this type of news because it sounds too impossible. North Korea's internet is restricted so how are they going to access cryptocurrency? Because of their culture and their government, it's impossible for them to accept crypto as another currency. Citizens are under the control of the government so it will be hard for them to access crypto on their own.
Maybe they wanted to create cryptocurrency that is only available to their peopel and so the people of North Korea don’t need to buy bitcoin, this is truly an impossible thing to a country where you have a limited access online or none at all. We will see if this one is true or not, let’s see if they will continue to control their people.

North Korea is indeed very friendly with Cryptocurrency, their government strongly agrees if Crypto is legalized there, so everything will be easy if later they will make their own Crypto. I am proud if my country also follows the steps like North Korea did so that Crypto users can feel satisfied.
The question here is that, if they are allowed to own other cryptocurrency like bitcoin and other things because as far as I know, the internet connection their is limited and you don’t have the right to access things that is beyond the control of the government. If a country like North Korea fully adopt cryptocurrency, I’m sure more countries will do the same.

While this seems to be good news for crypto, i doubt North Korea.

It is well known that it's citizens are ruled over by dictator who controls almost every aspect of their life (at least so i heard). Given this, i am doubtful if their cryptocurrency will ever be exposed to the public and it will just probably be kept within their country.

Thinking deeply about it, it was good for cryptocurrency adoption to have news like this. But in my perspective, North Korea is not that ready to transition their fiats to cryptocurrency, not all have access to news and updates about cryptocurrency, in that regards, I fear that north koreans will not be responsible enough to handle their cryptos, or it might be a form of control to them by their government.

This looks more like adoption is gradually becoming real. If this can happen in North Korea, it means  that more will be done, not only there, but in some other countries around the world. This is an indication that adoption is fast rising.

Yes, the North Korean government is very strict. I don't believe that they created their own cryptocurrency, is it possible that their own people are promoting crypto without other countries knowing, and what I know is that South Korea is growing rapidly in the world of cryptocurrency.

I think North Korea's main expertise in crypto currency firmly land in the realm of running botnets, hacking exchanges, creating phishing sites and backdoored wallets.

They always give an issues without real working about how serious want to make new crypto and give regulation for bitcoin or altcoin.

Countries creating their own crypto? We had a few examples in the past. Venezuela recently came up with their own crypto called "Petro", which was backed up with petroleum reserves (they claimed so). The Central Bank of China recently announced that they will be dishing out a government approved cryptocurrency. But till now, they don't have any finalized product in their hand. These are real and verified news, unlike this piece of BS from some fake news producing factory.

But that said, what is the purpose of a government issued cryptocurrency? The most important benefit of Bitcoin and many of the other cryptocurrencies is that they are decentralized (i.e they are not controlled by the central banks). A cryptocurrency that is issued by the government won't be having these benefits. There is nothing to make it any different from a digital version of fiat currency (such as PayPal or Qiwipay). We should consider them as variants of fiat currency rather than crypto.

Oh gosh that might be an interesting experience. I hope there's no hidden conditions about the nature of crypto that is allowed.
