Bitcoin Logo Appears on Shirts of Futsal Florentia, Serie A Italian Women’s Football Team:
https://bitcoingarden.org/bitcoin-logo-appears-on-shirts-of-futsal-florentia-serie-a-italian-womens-football-team/

Last Sunday, the Bitcoin logo debuted for the very first time on a shirt of an Italian Serie A women’s football team. During the Division Cup match Futsal Florentia vs. Sabina Lazio, people saw the Bitcoin text printed on the football kit of the Florentia’s players, who were indeed very excited to wear this unusual sponsor.

This is not the first time we see the Bitcoin logo as sponsor of a football team, September 12 Watford Football Club announced in a blog post on the official website the Bitcoin logo’s adoption as part of a wider campaign aiming to improve awareness around Bitcoin and educate the public on the benefits of using cryptocurrencies. However, Futsal Florentia’s announcement came some months before, as reported by the Italian media Crypto Rivista on June 13.

The idea of this sponsorship comes from two enthusiastic Bitcoin supporters, Silvia Bossio well known in the community as “Silvia Jones”, blogger and administrator of the Crypto Bar and Luca De Luca, software engineer and solution architect with long experience in blockchain and cryptocurrencies....

If they are really aiming for "improve awareness" for the cryptocurrency they are doing the worst they can by putting it on a shirt in futsal team playing on a lesser known league and of course on the women's division where it doesn't even receive half the fans on a men's division of that sport. I think they only did this because they are lacking sponsors and basing from what I see in their jersey they really don't have that much names tied to their shirts. But nevertheless this is a good start if a crypto company plans to be shirt sponsors on any football team this might be a good start to spread awareness for the crypto industry especially Bitcoin, the only question is will this be an effective way to promote mass adoption as well if more than half of the fans don't even know what Bitcoin is.

Its better than have nothing at all. All big things do came out from small ones. Its true that women do get less fans than on mens but we wouldnt know if they would plan on ahead to use up those logos on mens side but for now this small step can give out some curiosity out of those people who do able to read it up.We cant say its totally effective way of promotion
but at least it will give out some questions on mind and able to hook up some few numbers which isnt bad at all.

Not sure if it's an attempt to improve awareness, it's more of sponsorship for BTC. Doesn't really show that much to be honest, it's not really the top league so we don't know if those teams are interested in sponserships from crypto-companies, but it's a good start and does show some hope.

Would love to see some crypto company's logo on the back of a soccer jersey, I think that'll attract a lot of attention - and at that point, crypto would be super mainstream Smiley

Watford already did that. Sportsbet is their sponsor and that's why they got the Bitcoin logo on their shirt. Google it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't call it the worst, even if they play in the 4th or 7th division. Still better than doing nothing and sit while complaining adoption is going nowhere.

I don't have numbers, but maybe women could watch this sport, at least more than "standard" (men's) football? In that case it could actually help in increasing awareness.
However, people do sponsorship in areas they are interested in, so.. why not? I certainly don't complain on that.
The only problem I see is that the "back" text is not really visible because of its placing.

It seems this is not the first team that wears the logo of bitcoin. And overall it's good advertisement

Often the forum members raise the question of the number of women in the crypto world, and how there should be more of them which I totally agree with. So something like this is really great not only for promotion but also for attracting more women to get involved with Bitcoin.

Football is said to be the most important side thing in the world, and it's great to see that after Watford in English Premier League, another club decided on a similar move. What matters is that people recognize the potential of Bitcoin, which means we can expect more news like this. Maybe the Bitcoin logo will be on most sports jerseys in the future, and what we see today is just the beginning.

Based from the follow-up news I have seen related to this this was in fact done voluntarily and there is no money involved for the team to put up Bitcoin's logo on their shirts. This just confirmed what I was thinking that what company would just show Bitcoin's logo and not the logo of their own business. The change was of course done internally and the management and no other third party are involved with the decision. They are only saying that it's just about increasing the awareness for Bitcoin and I do agree since Italy is one of the friendliest European country for the crypto industry.

What sponsorship are you talking about? This was only done by the management becasue they don't have any sponsors and they are the only ones who agreed to make Bitcoin's logo and name be visible to their jerseys. This self-promotion for Bitcoin might have another motive just like Watford's decision on putting the Bitcoin's logo on their jerseys since they have also announced that the reason why they did it is because they will be accepting Bitcoin payments for their clubs tickets and other merchandise.

Oh wow. That's crazy actually, although it was what I expected (A crypto betting casino like Sportsbet or Nitrogames to end up sponsoring a pretty famous team in sport). I took a look at a couple of their jerseys and they honestly look great with the branding. No small logo, or sponsor as well, there's Sportsbet over the chest and on the shoulder patches as well, it's looks like they are their main sponsor.

It's referred to as a sponsorship, and the 2 people that are responsible for it are Silvia Bossio and Luca De Luca, so I'm assuming money was involved, otherwise, other wording would have been used? I could be wrong though.

Instead of discussing whether this sponsorship will have a good impact in promoting for more awareness for Bitcoin, I would instead concentrate on any positive contribution this development can have towards the much-dreamed adoption of cryptocurrency by the general population. I know that this sponsorship can just be a drop in the ocean but who knows one or two of the audience can eventually be persuaded to a part of the Bitcoin bandwagon. We have to remember that raising an awareness for anything can take a lot of effort, time and of course money. Bitcoin supporters namely Silvia Bossio and Luca De Luca both deserve a big kudos for this and let's hope that more and more sports events can be tied up with Bitcoin soon.

I don't know how many people watch this football team, but I believe there are few people watching this football team and from what I read here:

https://en.cryptonomist.ch/2019/10/02/futsal-florentia-sponsors-bitcoin

The team leadership does not seem to be involved with cryptos, meaning they are promoting something that even they do not use. Is that the kind of adoption we should expect? which will make a lot of difference is convince regulators, governments and banks to accept bitcoin.

I don't like this whole idea with Bitcoin ads, it makes Bitcoin look more like some company rather than a decentralized electronic money protocol. Plus there's association with gambling, since it's an ad for a gambling company, which adds to Bitcoin's reputation of being a risky investment rather than a useful payment method.

Then on what way you would like to suggest apart from this one? You do have a point though but we know that if people do see something new

We dont know if they are aware on the logo they are presenting or not but whats important is the exposure that it do gives.
It might not be a big move but at least we are making some move to achieve that level of recognition and adoption.

I'd rather see Bitcoin's logo being spread by independent parties, like that street artist guys who painted the famous Bitcoin mural, or just simple business owners with their good old "Bitcoin accepted here" stickers. It would feel much more organic and wouldn't make Bitcoin look like some ponzi scheme to the outsiders.

I don't know how many people watch this football team, but I believe there are few people watching this football team...

It's about a women's futsal football team, and they certainly don’t have a large audience, but any promotion is welcome. I have already written that the question is often asked why there are no more women involved in crypto, and this is a good example of their involvement. You need to look at the bigger picture than just think that it's a small team that is irrelevant.

In the case of Fiorentina, there is no gambling or any other type of sponsorship, they just decide to promote Bitcoin as "an innovative payment system". But even in case of Watford, I do not see any problem, people gamble with fiat all time if Bitcoin is currency why it would be bad for people to use it in gambling or sports betting?

Futsal Florentia’s manager, Mauro Pomposi, said:

“We are very happy to have undertaken this path in collaboration with experts in the field. We are confident that giving visibility to such an innovative payment system will result in greater exposure for the team. Our goal is to act as a point of reference and union between the women’s 5-a-side football community and that of Bitcoin”

It would feel much more organic and wouldn't make Bitcoin look like some ponzi scheme to the outsiders.
People here have become overly sensitive to anything they see and read through. I honestly believe that not many people outside the few so called perma bulls here see things as negative.

I'm sure that most of the people here who continuously complain about all sorts of things don't do anything themselves for Bitcoin. I'm glad we get these initiatives where Bitcoin is being given exposure. Respect.

Lets appreciate what is already happening instead of being so judgemental. They are doing way more work making sure that Bitcoin is being seen than most people here combined have done in years.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Ah, looks like I was wrong then. From the article, the idea was given to them by 2 people, and they chose to promote it for free, in order to raise awareness and more attention to the crypto-currency, they also don't seem to use the crypto-currency themselves, which isn't really adoption, haha.

I don't like this version of 'adoption' and just randomly adding branding in order to attract some more attention from fans, I don't think we'll see this go very far with that mindset.

Let's not be that judgemental though. Maybe it's for the better!
