Hello, Is there any COLD wallet for ERC20 USDT? Problem with ledger wallet is they are not cold wallet, because they dont give you your private key, and ledger developer have access to your private key which is not safe. Im looking for a cold wallet with private key.
You do have your private key. You can derive it from your seeds any time you want. And no, ledger developers do not have access to your private keys. I'm not sure where you got that notion from. If you don't trust Ledger's closed source firmware then you could potentially just do a DIY paper wallet yourself. Generate the private key offline, write down the ETH private key somewhere safe, and store it completely offline. Or, do a clean install of the OS and the official ETH wallet software on a separate PC that is never connected to the internet. But tbh, a hardware wallet would still be the most convenient way. Thank you, I perfer to use Official ETH Wallet on seperate PC, Can I store USDT ERC20 token on official ETH wallet? I want to store about 200K$ USDT.

Is that really true the ledger developers have access to ledger user's private key ? That will be unsafe indeed if it is true. how about Trezor wallet ? i know the most popular hard wallet is ledger and trezor. We should be able to export the private key, so we can use it somewhere else in case the wallet broken or lost.

Ledger is the best choice. They have a fair price and usability is on a great level. Besides they have a user friendly interface and as far as I know Ledger is the safest cold wallet, without any detected issues.
Problem with ledger wallet is they are not cold wallet, because they dont give you your private key, and ledger developer have access to your private key which is not safe. Im looking for a cold wallet with private key. How often do you have to repeat your wrong info? Ledger wallet is a cold wallet, and not only because it gives you your private keys but because it is basically an offline wallet. It is a hardware wallet whose private keys and pins and seeds are yours and yours alone. The ledger developers or whoever it is who is connected to the company do not have access to them as you constantly claim. And why single out Ledger as out of your choice? Why, do you have a specific cold wallet you want to promote? You wrong, Nano ledger will not give you a private key, they only give you 24 word seed which is compeletly different from Private key. Ledger will provide you with seed works, using those words you can derive the private key if you want. if ledger is a cold wallet than if you lose your hardware ledger wallet than you MUST not be able to have access to your token because by logic all of your token was in that cold wallet, But How legder will able you to have access to your token even if you lose you hardware?? By using your seed words. You can buy new ledger/trezor and import your wallet using your previous seed words, you will be able to retrieve your balances. Do not spread wrong info please.

Thank you, I perfer to use Official ETH Wallet on seperate PC, Can I store USDT ERC20 token on official ETH wallet? I want to store about 200K$ USDT. You can store your USDT as long as that wallet has supported ERC20 tokens, but the majority of ethereum wallets are supporting ERC20 tokens. But that's a huge amount and would you try to store your money in the paper wallet and then store it in the cold storage like a fresh HDD or SSD? For me, this is the best way to store your money. You can also store your physical paper wallet as your backup. You can download the desktop wallet and then make sure your computer is offline and you can generate your paper wallet even without need an internet connection (the safest way). But this article will help you a lot. https://medium.com/@AdamHurwitz/off-the-grid-bitcoin-and-ethereum-storage-11e37861a99f?

I think this link will be helpful to you. Ledger explained clearly why do you shouldn't export your private key. https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005297709-Export-your-accounts

If you are in doubt of Ledger Nano S wallet, then go for Trezor. Trezor is very common and we all know that it is a cold storage wallet that gives you full control over your asset by owning your private key to yourself. However, even if u have not used Ledger Nano S wallet before, I believe it has the same functionality as giving you full control over your wallet.

You can use the myetherwallet wallet for altcoin USDT with ERC20 platform, because altcoin USDT has two platform versions that we can use, first is ERC20 and the second is OMNI, so if for ERC20 you can use myetherwallet only.

If you store your private key properly and do not tell your private key to others then no one else will know. And as long as you don't enter the private key on the phishing website, your wallet will be safe. And remember do not save your private key on google drive or drop box. Make sure you store your private key properly and safely. Don't lose it. So far, from 2016 until now I have never had a problem with MEW. My private key is safe until now and no one else knows.

There is one problem with Tether through ERC20, which is the specific network this all gets processed on. Which is Ethereum network, the same network that is showing an increase in fee costs (higher then Bitcoin), a dependancy on having to first calculate the correct gas fee (automatic gas fee calculation are these days often at the low side) and a slow down in its ability to process transactions.
The reasons : increase in Tether ERC20 transactions through Ethereum network has maxed-out that network and Ethereum still has no scaling solution in place.
Personally i rather use a network that has room to grow and a scaling solution already in place, before considering any cold storage on it. So that i dont have to deal with issues like these later on.

For ERC20,it's the Ethereum wallet. There are many cold wallet,Token.im, Myetherwallet.com,mycrypto.com,all these wallet support offline storage.
And I used all of them with offline signature, easier, secure.
