Gemini Now Has Billboards

I don't know if it has been discussed / mentioned but while driving south on I95 in The Bronx I noticed Gemini has a few billboards up.
Did not have a chance to grab my phone and take a picture, but I thought it was interesting.

it must be an east coast thing. never seen them on the west coast. i did read they were rolling out an ad campaign in NYC---billboards, taxi toppers, bus stops, etc. this was back in january. i guess they're still going.

5 years ago i never would have expected to see ads like these around the city. it's a trip:

It's kinda funny how the winklevoss twins in interviews praise Bitcoin for its decentralized nature and that nobody needs permission or anything in that order, but at the same time they spread posters stating that crypto needs rules, lol. How contradicting can you be. Crypto doesn't need rules, hence the reason it has any value to begin with. Their exchange needs rules to abide by.

Let them spread the word about Bitcoin. It's much stronger of a message than Gemini bla bla exchange. 75-80% of their volumes comes from Bitcoin. The least they could have done is put a BTC somewhere.

They're pandering to the 'bitcoin is dangerous because it's unregulated' crowd. Yuck. I wonder how this ad campaign worked out for them.

I'm assuming Gemini is based out of New York, but I haven't fact checked that. 

Not sure how effective that advertising is going to be--if you're into crypto and need an exchange, you probably know about Gemini to begin with.  I can't say I like the whole "crypto needs rules" thing, and I'm not sure what the Winklevii are thinking with that.  Crypto is going to get more rules and regulations (pretty sure of that), but whether it needs them is another story.

Yeah, I still think it's cool that you can see something bitcoin-related on top of a NYC taxi cab even if it's a Gemini advert.
