striking it big with bounty hunting you have to be realy lucky, most of the times you get some coins for the worth of around 10 dollars , and most of the times they become worthless before they even hit a exchange lol.

I use to see a lot of these give-me-gas-fee airdrops when I was a very active hunter back in 2017. I also call them scamdrops because gas fees should be handled by the team distributing it. If they cannot even take care of the gas fees, then that means they have no funds to develop their own project.

Thanks for the info, it gives me more understanding. Actually, I rarely participated in airdrops, so I just know the term "scamdrops".
But I saw several bounties required "gass" to claim the rewards. If it was applied in airdrops, I doubt the bounties are also scams.
Do you think all "gass required for claiming rewards" are scams, mate?

Asking from people for particular amount to be sent as gas fee has been in existence for quite some time and people have learnt their lessons from it, so if it happens now it will definitely not work for so many people, because of their past I'll experiences.

OP is lucky to have gotten 1 with value out of 10 from airdrops that asks for gas fee. It could be easily 1 out of 100 for other hunters.

How did they get the contact of airdrop participants, by the way?
Spreadsheets, emails, fill-ups/sign-ups.
Airdrops spread like wildfire before. You see a lot of twitter accounts and many telegram channels with thousands of followers sharing the airdrop forms. A newly created airdrop can get hundreds and thousands of registered participants in just an hour.

You can't just judge them for doing or asking for gas fee from hunter. You can't simply conclude that project is scam because they are asking for help? What if the project is just out of budget. Remember how bitcoin ask for assistance before? They even asking everybody to help them with donations and help as well. Youre post is attacking those project that might not included lile the OP mentioned.

It won't be fair to compare a token airdrop with bitcoin. Bitcoin is a mineable coin with it's own blockchain based on the community. Creating a token is a easy task that requires just a few lines of codes. If they don't even have a fee to send airdrop tokens, how could they achieve anything from their project. If the team don't know what they are doing, they should promise people with airdrops but rather work to make their project a success first.

Nowadays, even those projects that do not ask for gas fee or anything at all such as KYC are mostly scams also. So those that are requesting gas fees are more scam than the rest. It is not advisable to take unnecessary risks with these kinds of projects. Always remember also that there are only a small number of projects that are really pursuing a legitimate objectives. The rest are merely taking the opportunity to ride with the current crypto waves.

That's right, some airdrops and bounties are needed gas fees and KYC documents recieve the tokens. Bounties are going with agreements. But they are all not legit. The most airdrops look like scams on these days. They are getting gas fees and KYC documents from it. Then you have to be careful with airdrops and bounties right now. Do your own research about the project before you participate in airdrop or bounty campaigns.

People don't make money on Bounties anymore. They need to learn how to trade coins for money.

Bounties doing that is even worse. It is understood that campaigns running bounties already got enough fund from their private or token sales and that's why it makes no sense to ask gas fee from hunters. It's not fair for participants to be required to pay after promoting for weeks or even a year.

We need to realize these things around the market. Why bother to join airdrops like this and send any gas fees without any assurance in return?
Many people are still stuck with the mindset of 2017 crypto bull where hope is still circling inside their minds that there are chances that airdrop tokens will bring something huge. There are no clear directions for this kind of project. There are now only few developers who are really keen on making their projects successful in contrast of the majorities who are only making projects just to scam people.

I thought nobody is doing that anymore. This is the first sign of scammers, asking money for anything. If somebody asks you to provide a gas fee, even for legit bounty payments, you can be sure that such project won't last for long.

Bounties are so good over the last few years but now it is not that good since the market has undergo depression and then there were a lot of projects that aren't that promising anymore. Unlike when it was 2017, there were many good projects to join to. That's the bountiful year of bounties. Right now, it's sucks to join bounties since the ending would be pretty much high anticipated. You'll get scammed. This is why I would like to join more in IEO based projects rather than ICO projects.

It become popular a year ago, airdrops can bee seen anywhere not only in this forum but also in social media, by becoming part of their community, you will receive payment that can be sold on some exchanges. but after the trend, many scam airdrops also came. you will pay for gas and then you will receive a coin without a value.

I don't know when you started noticing airdrops but it was even more popular in 2017. Ethereum smart contract enabled a lot of devs wannabes to create their own token and flood the social media and telegram channels with google forms.

Gone are the days when airdroppers and bounty hunters were making it big in the hunting. Nowadays, a lot of people claim to be working on a crypto project do so just to disguise to obtain funds with ill intentions from the public. Most of these project conduct neither ICO nor IEO. They only call on airdroppers to publicize their tokens in return for payment in the publicized token. They use the airdroppers to build their communities. The hunters refer one another with the hope of getting paid.
The will the get their shock of life when the project team demand for little tokens as gas fee for the reward to be sent. Most of them have big pool of participants who if they should pay, the team easily cart away several thousands of dollars worth of ETH.

In my months of being a cryptocurrency bounty hunter before, I have experienced a project asking for GAS in order to transfer the fund or payment for the work I've done. Let us say, yes, I have encountered allot of scam projects, but none of them asked me to pay for GAS. in that case, it is not normal for a project nowadays to ask for gas fee, if we are about to see such project like that, I advise not to support it anyways, projects have allocation for their funds and should do such said acts.

Its obviously a scam because they are requesting a gass fee.  Lmao.  It's like some bitcoin generator around the internet which they use bots in their public chat in order to convince people to participate and to show that they are legit  . But after gerating free bitcoin they are asking fees before sending the generated btc.  Haha wtf!! Modus to obtain victim . Stay aways on it bro .. I suggest.   Cool

Only know about that kind of airdrops, but never join it. Don't know what it called, in my facebook group people only said selfdrop which we must send 0 ETH with gas and then we get the tokens. Don't know what the purpose but i never join something like that.

Those are the so-called selfdrop where you will send ETH to the given address then you will received the token instantly. Many people fall for this scam i don't know why, maybe they are taking risk to make x10 when it hits exchanges but the reality most of it just runaway.

Agreed. As long as airdrop/bounty hunters will keep promoting such garbage projects, they will keep popping up.

Stop giving attention to them. They will disappear.
