Under the menu View>Advance>Toggle Dev Tools there is one error message: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND cordova.js:1

Is this any helpful info?
Not really. I installed Jaxx here, it's working and I see the same message.

Is there a way to copy just the private keys into a working Jaxx folder (and not replacing the whole folder) perhaps?

Where can I find the exact private keys? The whole folder together is not the private keys, is it?
You are right. I did some testing and found an way of copying only the wallet "file".

First, lets try making Jaxx work again. If you backed up the older folder from the other wallet (before replacing it), put it back. If not, delete the whole com.liberty.jaxx (in the laptop you copied the files to, not the original one) and open Jaxx again. If Jaxx works and asks to generate a new wallet (or shows the other wallet if you put the folder back), close it. Then go to the folder you got from the original PC (that the wallet isn't working) and only copy (replace) the IndexedDB folder in this other laptop com.liberty.jaxx folder.

Open and see if Jaxx works and your wallet is there. Sorry if the above is confusing. Tongue

I did not back up old folder on the new laptop. So deleted the folder I copied into there and then when Jaxx started again (this time it loaded as normal) I had to create a new wallet, right?

So just to be sure we are on the same page, in the map IndexedDB the private keys are stored? All other maps have different files, and in my case the error probably is located somewhere in one of those other maps?

You don't have to create a new wallet.

Now that Jaxx is working, just copy the IndexedDB folder inside the com.liberty.jaxx folder you got from the other PC to the com.liberty.jaxx folder on the of your laptop (and replace it). This is where the wallet file is stored.

Oh my god....still the same problem after doing all this!

I was really hopeful it would be solved by now, but no!

So the error must be in this map somewhere?

To give you better insight, here is a list of all files in the map I copied:

Not working Jaxx:
IndexedDB map consists of map called "file_0.indexeddb.leveldb" with the following files in it:
text document called "000010"                                                                                           2881 kb
Microsoft Access Record-Locking Information" file called 000012.ldb                                         67 kb
normal file called "CURRENT"                                      1 kb
normal file called "LOCK"                                            0 kb
normal file called "LOG"                                              1 kb
OLD-file called "LOG.old"                                            1 kb
normal file called "MANIFEST-000001"                         1 kb

After copying this to the 2nd laptop which had a working Jaxx installed, the 2nd mentioned file however changed from a "Microsoft Access Record-Locking Information" file to a LDB-file....and the icon in front of the file changed to an empty white icon....perhaps the fact that I have Windows not activated on the 2nd laptop plays a role here?
Also strange is that after copying it onto my USB stick and then pasting it into the 2nd laptop IndexedDB map, the file size of the first file changed from 2881 kb to 2900 kb but I assume this is not important?

Just trying to give you as much info as possible

Maybe would it be better if I try it on a 3rd laptop where i do have Windows activated?
Edit: nope, tried the same process on a 3rd laptop, this time all files were the same sizes after copying and still the screen stays blue when opening Jaxx.

Also maybe handy to know: on a healthy working Jaxx the IndexxedDB map also consists of 7 files....the latter 5 are the exact same in name and size. The upper 2 are different, namely:"
text document called "000004"                                                                 1541 kb
Microsoft Access Record-Locking Information" file called 000005.ldb            1884 kb (which is a much bigger file than on the not working Jaxx!)

Another thing which might be handy to know:

On a different laptop I recovered an old wallet with zero balance from which I still had the 12 word phrase. After that I checked the location "com.liberty.jaxx" to see which files had been changed/updated recently.

I initialized the wallet restoration via the seed phrase at 2:40 AM and of all the files in the location "com.liberty.jaxx" only "blob_storage" (at 2:40 AM) and "Cookies" and "Cookies journal" (both at 2:44 AM), and "log", "preferences" and "quotamanager-journal" (all thee at 2:40 AM) were recently changed. So it appears only these files can possibly contain the private keys, or am I missing something?
How else could a wallet restore and update the correct balance without accessing the private keys?

Locations such as "IndexedDB", "databases", "cache", "GPUcache" and "local storage" have not been changed since hours ago so how can they contain vital info for a wallet?

One more remark before I go to sleep:

When I open Jaxx and it gets stuck on the blue screen I can still click on "view" > "Advanced" > "toggle dev tools" and there an interesting line is listed, saying "show_splash should be removed on app start. Only intro screen will use it (JaxxIntroCreationWalletComponent)"
Now, I have no clue who suggested this and why this line is there, but it might be part of my problem.

I searched a bit on the internet and a show-splash is a fancy but often unneccessary intro to an app, that can cause problems starting the real program. In this case this might be the problem. The only thing I don't get is why it happens also on other laptops when I copy and paste the "IndexedDB" file into the new laptop.

Anybody please?

I'm really scared that I lost my coins in there forever. I have a substantial amount in there. The user that helps me solve this will get a reward sent to their BTC address!

I assumed the IndexedDB folder was the wallet files because I created a wallet, saved the receiving address of that wallet and made a copy of that folder. Then I deleted everything, created a new wallet and noticed the address had changed (confirming is a different wallet). Then I copy-pasted the IndexedDB folder of my first wallet and it showed the same address from that wallet.

A different address does not per se mean a different wallet, does it? Wallets always have several different addresses, right?

Btw what I mentioned in the text you quoted of me was not completely correct. Also the other folders which were still timestamped as having updated hours ago, did in fact contain some files that did have a timestamp of updating after 2:40 AM. So it confused me that the folder itself had a different (earlier) last update time than some files in it, but it is very well still possible that the private keys are stored into the IndexedDB folder, although I'm still not sure of it. Also very weird that stuff like this is not even easy to find on the internet. I would have thought you would easily be able to find general info such as in which folder private keys are stored.

What I'm gonna do now is let somebody look at it who knows more about PC's and crypto than me, and if that does not help then I will indeed submit a ticket there.

Yes. Wallets have multiple addresses. But why would I get a different address, then restore the file and get the same address as before? And for some wallets - including Jaxx -  the address only changes when the old one gets used (receives a transaction).

Submit the ticket already. There is a chance they will either tell you what is the issue and how to fix it, or at least how to get your private-key/seed from the Jaxx folder (or with any other method).
