If you are using a computer to keep a record of all the private keys of your coins then make sure to encrypt the text file with notepad++ and nppcrypt which will add one layer of protection.
Then you can even archive the file with another password and remove the extension of the file.
Also, make sure to make multiple copies of the file in different secondary storage devices.

I protect my tokens or wallets by avoiding phishing, you can do this by always checking the URL of the website before entering any sensitive details like private keys or if your tokens are stored on eth network always use metamask for PC and Trust wallet for android. Avoid clicking suspicious links on emails too. Still, the safest way is to have a hardware wallet.

I think the only way to protect tokens as much as possible is to use a hardware wallet: obviously it must support the tokens concerned.

the most important thing is that you don't recklessly access your wallet.
1. if you use a software wallet / WEB wallet
- before you want to access the wallet make sure the site is tagged, to avoid pishing sites.
2. if you use a hardware wallet
- like Terzor or Ledger Nano S for the security of your cryptoqurrwncy wallet.
I use a web wallet, and so far I have no problems in my wallet.

You have your point but when we say keep your keys in a secure place are you talking about offline place or online storage that you can store your keys securely?

Most of the reasons why others lost their funds or was scammed was because of their own negligence. Though there are other cases that were being brute force by hackers so we can't deny that this kind of cases are out of our reach.

But if you lost your funds because of phishing, trusting others that you only know online, giving your private keys to other people without thinking the consequences. These are all negligence of the owner.

How to protect our tokens is our own responsibility and our own initiative. Of course that pointer you shared are very helpful for everyone. I will just add something which is the presence of mind everytime we log in our account s and wallets to any sites and secure that the site is legal and not a phishing site.

These tips are helpful and necessary for us to do to get rid of scammers and thieves. However, it is still important for us to entrust our keys at least to our most trusted person for emergency purposes. We don't know what will happen in the future so there should be one person who could access it if something happens to us. Protecting our funds and wallets depends on us so we have to be responsible in handling and keeping it.

Thanks for sharing this  it more useful to  me   but i will advise people also write  down their  private keys and  keep  it at  safe place.  also  when you are  keeping your private keys on your computer  make sure  you will also  installed  premium anti-virus on your device.  Never used cracked software because most  of these cracked software are full of malware.  always use full version software and keep your software updated always..

and one more rule I will add - do not store keys on the computer at all, because they can be stolen. it is better to throw on a flash drive and put bitloker on it. then you can sleep peacefully without thinking about the leakage of information

I store all my private keys via an offline PC. I use the HDD of a PC I have never connected to the internet and a flash disk that is used offline. So I am getting 2 different offline backups.

Hardware wallet is safe when it's not infected with a viruses. Some strategies of hackers and phishing attackers made malwares that redirects your wallet to hackers portal. Even if you're using online wallet like metamask or other installed wallet, it's very important that accessing a computer must be protected with strong security software in order to provide secured protection.

Why not get a separate and cheap laptop to hold our tokens and keep the privately safe as well? As a safe practice, don't click everything on see on the web as phishing attacks is already on the rise just this year. And remember that once you are online there's that risk that's why I would rather put everything on a hardware (pc or laptop) that doesn't connect on the internet, just saying.

There are several ways that I am using to protect those wallets. First of all, I have a written backup phrases and secret keys for every wallet. And secondly, I am trying to spread my funds among different wallets and exchanges to reduce the risks.

If you are going to protect your coin without having to worry every time you got surfing the internet, use Linux system. Gauranteed that whatever you download online like movies, porn and images you are sure that there ain't no bugs, worms and rats that go along with it. Hackers are just waiting for signs that someone had gotten their trojan horse and they can then scan your files for info, could be your paypal account or crypto wallets/.

I always keep my private key in several hard disks, flashdisks, smartphones so that the crypto wallet is safer, if you store it in one computer at a time it will definitely get hacked or have a virus attack, but if it is double you can handle it and look at several other storage places.

We have different ways on how we can protect our cryptocurrencies and wallet. Until now my private key and my cryptocurrencies are still safe simply because I put my private key or my password in a folder and the folder has password where I am only one who knows it. Basically, having two types of wallet can also help to protect your cryptocurrencies. I have been using hardware wallet which is more secure and it is my main storage of my cryptocurrencies.

I just want to add that if you want to review your token balances for a specific address then just use a blockchain explorer like etherscan.io and insert just your public key or wallet address, with this you do not need to input your private key every time you want to check your balance. I'm just adding this because one of my friend was like this before until he learn that he can still see his balance without logging-in his private key.

here are some tips that you can do to avoid this kind of incidents
1. Keep your keys for wallets in a secure place where you can easily access but others can't
This is the number one rule of thumb for me keep it in a safe place that accessible by you but not to other people
2. Never share your passwords to anyone
Remember even the closes person to you can turn you down sometimes, and hit you really hard when you don't expect
its okay to trust people around you but there should be a distance or a position where in okay you can't know everything about me its
too personal.
3. If you keep your keys codes etc in your computer make sure you always have a backup a clone for the drive to be safe.
This is the last one for me but this should be at first procedure you should do first always keep your backup because we all know
you don't know when your computer encounter a problem specially windows , which a lot of users are using ,
there you go this are some simple steps that can be done i hope this can help you keep you codes and keys safe every time

This has been said many times, yet people still get predisposed to back and the likes, because it is not 100% safe, even without you letting out your security details to a third party. If you cannot afford a hardware wallet now, you can prepare towards that, perhaps, as soon as you start having enough fund that you do not wish to lose in your portfolio.

It has already been said many times about all these simple steps to ensure security, but people have not yet begun to apply these rules. I think that we will not be able to protect people from stealing their passwords and their money
