There are plenty of exchange apps, both for Android and iOS.
At the moment I've tested 3 most common apps:
- Binance - sometimes ok, but not for the first time I somehow can't go through KYC via this app. Notifications don't work correctly, etc.
- Coinbase - was ok even with slow support, but after they increased their fees to 0.5%... Well, sorry, not going to use it.
- Changelly - it's new, I don't know if it's stable and well-working, and there are not enough reviews, but I was satisfied with the web version though

My question is: does anyone use exchange apps? If so, which ones? If not - why not? Share your experience, please.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

i use all exchanges only in browser.

i do not understand the hype to have a dedicated "app" for each trivial service, which i can visit as a website.

I use the only Binance, and all other exchanges I use only in web versions. I generally think that using exchanges via phone is not very safe

I agree, maybe the exchange version in applications is completely new, it’s also not very convenient for me to work with the application, so I also work from the browser

I'd have to give the in app experience to coinbase on this one. They have the most mature app out of all of them, with the most user friendly (or at least aesthetically pleasing) GUI in my opinion.

However, that in no way means that their service is any good. If you just look around the forum briefly you'll find a ton of complaints in regards to coinbase, especially in terms of their customer support which has been historically been unresponsive. Despite Brian Armstrong's promises, this has never really been fixed since coinbase's inception. Their fees are also high due to them accepting CC for purchasing BTC. So I strongly do not recommend you use Coinbase, no matter how good their UI looks, until their fix their fundamental problems.

I think that your best pick is Binance. Like hamdi said I don't see a reason in using an app exclusively for an exchange, you're already going to be limited from the get-go on functionality. As to your KYC problems, why not just submit KYC through the web page and sign into the app once you're verified?

i do not understand the hype to have a dedicated "app" for each trivial service, which i can visit as a website.
So they can use it on the go? Most exchanges are designed for desktop view and it becomes a bit messy when using from a phone. So they make a dedicated mobile application so users can easily access the exchange while they are travelling or is away from their computer. Most of these applications also have some sort of push up notification system if there is a significant change in price of a coin (at least coinbase has the function).
Hope you understand now. Just use a little bit of your brain.  Wink

I prefer using browser for all my exchanges, instead of the app because of putting my phone RAM under pressure. I will download few exchange apps when I get an android phone.

I do not use the exchange apps, the biggest reason is because it is very easy to use the exchange on a desktop other than using apps.
another reason is that I can execute many orders when I am using a desktop while I am barely able to execute one order when I am using apps.
also with desktop, we are able to monitor a few projects at the same time while with apps we are not able to.
apps is good for those who do not want to spend all of their time using the computer or do not have the time to operate the desktop.

In the above Binance and Coinbase have their official android and iOS applications as like that most of the exchanges created their application already and it is in the market.
We need some different initiative from the exchange to make the betterment in usage.

I tried to use binance apps for checking prices but when to do trading I am at ease using a laptop. Sometimes the problem is the authorization login process in this apps it does not go and failed, you have to do it again just to access. I did not use other apps in the above mentioned because using the browser is fine and easy to navigate for me.

Now it is true that there are quite a number of exchange applications available, either for iOS or Android. I prefer to trade through a website because in my opinion there is something wider than the application. Even so, I have never tried trading through an application. Because all this time their website made me quite comfortable.

I use Bitstamp's app. It doesn't even have all the options you have on the web page (eg you cannot withdraw), but it's handy.
It moves fast, I don't have to copy-paste from phone to phone the 2FA (which is a super silly thing to do imho), and it comes handy if there's a sudden spike or drop and want to benefit and I'm not at home.

There are not too many apps. Nobody forces you use them if you don't want to.

I don't use the exchange apps, I prefer to use a browser.
There are many apps in the Playstore but you can only choose the right apps to trade.
I never think about the fees because as long as my profit is bigger than the fees, I can withdraw the money.
So why you feel confused to choose the apps?
I think you can search for what you want.
Maybe you can try to download and install TabTrader from Playstore because I already used it for more than a year and I don't have a problem to trade with those apps.

To be honest i don't think there is anything wrong with having exchange apps, i personally see it as a way of convenient an easy access to your favorite exchange, not every time you are in front of your computer, there are times you want to qyuickly access your exchange through mobile if you are not close to your pc, this exchange apps comes very handy, to me much better than visiting exchange through mobile browser, i will rather use the app it is more easier and user.

I've been using binance app thus far and yeah it is really easy to use and seems like the security system is safe enough. Exchange app is very useful for those people who make daily trade because they can open it as they want anytime.

I just wanna give a suggestion to choose reputable exchange if you need it. Since there is several news that appears where some exchanges application just end up in scam, especially new exchange who haven't been known by most people, be carefull on it.

Yeah, I saw it, tried to sort it out even, but it still looks unclear - especially the part with investigations and confusing them to changenow. I mean I've used the web version of their service from time to time since 2017 (more or less), and there was never a problem.
Basically, that's the main reason I included them on the list.
