Some developers created projects that are doomed to fail. There are people who did that just to run away with the investor's money. It is very unfortunate and it ruined the reputation of the altcoins. Other projects look like copycats of the older ones. It is so difficult right now to find a unique project nor a project with promising potential. Many "to good to be true" projects end up as fail or scam. But with all of these, I don't think devs should stop creating projects. They should just stop creating copycats, instead make a masterpiece.

Any time they can decide to stop the project and will lay around for years until they feel the market is once again good like the bullruns are almost coming and that's the time they will once again come back. If the team has nothing to lose if they stop, they can just create another project, rollout an old one with a new name and collect money once again.

It will only mean that demands will stop, if this situation will happen. Having no investors is like having no demand whatever project it is whether it is a potential one or a shit project.

But this situation will unlikely to happen because if there is a chance for someone to earn some money then they will surely take the risk. There are plenty of people like this around the globe therefore there is a very less chance that the demand will stop. It is very sad the current condition of ICO projects, because many developers are less competent as well not responsible for projects that have been made. Mostly after getting money from the investor immediately abandons the project. For their personal interests, so many disadvantaged investor. Even old altcoins is subject to what the OP is saying. If an altcoin which is already existing for a long while stops releasing updates, it will be a cause for investors to get curious and ask why. If the project development team is mum about it while the project remains stagnant and without development for a long time, investors will definitely leave it. Even if the altcoin is in the top, investors will not care because it is always to their benefit that projects should be moving forward. It is their money which is at stake.

So developers should ensure their projects are very alright before it is launched to avoid disappointing investors.  Because if investors choose not to participate,  there is no way that project can do well. So developers need to work hard on making sure their projects does not fail so investors will not be discouraged
