I want to have your opinion on this Mather.


History

I have been playing on sportsbet.io for quit a long time. I have always been very happy with the site. Never had any issue with deposits and withdrawals. Everything happened instantly. From the day I opened the account I also did a full id verification. I was used to that from fiat betting sites. So it didn't bother me.

The account I am using is a very clean account, never had issues with that. Never requested a self exclusion or something like that.


What happened?

I am a huge darts fan. yesterday I deposited 1 time 120mBTC and 1 time 63mBTC to sportsbet.io.



I placed a bet of 100mBTC




So far everything went well. But all of a sudden my entire account got frozen. I wasn't able to log in so I wasnt able to monitor my running bet.
Mostly when I place such 100mBTC bets I only do that when I am 100% sure I am able to jump in and use the cash out feature if necessary. In both cases when first game is loosing I could still CashOut lets say 50-70% of my bet amount and put that money in another bet.


So their claim to freeze my account was because of links to self excluded accounts. but I never had any issue in the past. I must admit I was watching darts with my neighbour a couple houses further and he has self excluded himself ( black jack addiction). But because I was with him and probably cause I was at the same ip of the self excluded accounts my account got frozen. But after investigation my account was reopened again. So sportsbet admits that my account has nothing to do with self exclusion or multi accounting or something else





So what is my complaint about?

I understand if there is an account flagged that there comes an investigation..... BUT

- Personally from other experience with other gambling sites they first notify you when they are going to investigate the account so the player is capable to cancel his outstanding bets.
- Or betting sites automatically cancel the outstanding bets.


So what bothers me most that because of them freezing my account I wasn't able to cancel my bet or at least to cash out with some loss. Mostly when I place 100mBTC or higher bets I always monitor my games closely so I can CashOut if im not comfortable with how the game is going. But because the froze my account I could not do that.

So this resulted in a entire loss of the entire 100mBTC. But if I would have been able to enter the site I probably would have cashed out at 50-70mBTC when I saw the first game was going into the wrong direction. Or maybe CashOut when CashOut would have increaded to 120-125 when the game was winning.


So I emailed sportsbet and spoken with their chat. I kindly asked them to refund the 100mBTC or at least 70% of that bet because if the reason I wasn't able to use the CashOut feature while account was frozen and because they froze the account without sending a prior message so I would have been able to CashOut or cancel outstanding bets.
I also suggested if they dont refund me they could offer me a freebet from 50 up to 100mBTC non withdrawable to be able to place a bet to recover losses.


But I got a short answer:

They told me they couldnt do nothing about this issue because my account got frozen because of link to self excluded accounts.



What do you guys think of this?

Do you think sportsbet is acting it the right way or do you guys think they should have notified me or cancelled outstanding bets before freezing my account. Which at the end proved the link to self excluded account was false cause the apologised for the inconvenience and reopened my account.


I am not aiming to get back the full 100mBTC. Because the first game was going in the wrong direction I probably would have cashed out maybe 50-60mBTC and would have taken a loss.
So like mentioned before I requested sportsbet to refund me 50-70% of the bet or give me a freebet equal or 75% of the placed bet during the lock out period.

I'm inclined to say they should have cancelled your outstanding bets when they froze the account. But if your bet had gone the other way, you would be complaining that they cancelled a winning bet, wouldn't you?

Ideally they should have done whatever checks for self-excluded accounts they do before you placed the bet and prevent it from being placed. You'd still be not happy but at least it would be a more neutral policy. And if they detect an issue after a bet is placed they should allow existing bets to be managed while preventing new ones. I don't know how feasible it is tho.

correct, it would have Hurt to see they cancelled a winning bet but then at least I would have had the 100mBTC to take a shot on another bet. But in this situation I end up with nothing.

so from my experience this can't make cashout.

For some reasons they froze your account in the meanwhile time all your bets were cancelled but after that your account got reactivated right,so you have to change your title related to the reactivation as well.Actually you can't do anything,they must have mentioned about account frozen authorization at their TOS,you agreed that so no one can be blamed here.

This is vulnerable.. I mean how could we know that he is really going to cancel the bet? Nobody can prove this ... yeah unfortunately. I'm not going to say that he is desperate with the losses and looking for some excuses to get at least a couple bucks cashback or should we call it as a 'compensation'?

I've seen recently a user from Philippines got similar problem on how his account got flagged and frozen , they resolved it in the end, hopefully op you'll get what you want too. It's just weird if you did really nothing against their rules then it should be fun just like my account and everyone else hmmm ...

You were in a bad situation at the time, however it was your own fault because it was detected logging in using the same IP as your friend. That is why your account is frozen and directly investigated by the Sportsbet team. Your prediction is also wrong and the result will still lose. Even you don't have the chance to Cash out the bet, the feature won't appear because your first bet is lost like what TopT3ns mentioned above.

about the IP, Regarding IP policy, are there any restrictions about multiple accounts or multiple logins with the same IP by SportsBet? I don't know that yet

That's right, if one bet loses then it can't make CashOut, especially if the first team is played

Yes it's a SportsBet policy. However this violation can be forgiven if the account does not participate in any promos because this policy is to avoid abuse of promos

They have the right to froze the account if they 'detected' the user for having multiple accounts.

I don't know if OP has a friend or acquaintance on the same network that may be the reason why his account are frozen.
The network is the biggest factor here, As far as I know Sportsbet is detecting multiple accounts via IP.

I think you're only complaining because you got on the wrong side of the situation, If the situation had turned out differently and your bets won but meanwhile your bets was already canceled during the investigation, I'm sure you would have filed a scam accusation against sportsbet, and I'd have agreed to your claim If that was the case.

That being said, No sportbook will cancel your oustanding bets during a pending investigations(of multi-account at least), and the fact the cashout is available is a privilege not a right (because not every sportbooks already have this feature) It's at their solely decision to decide whether or not cashout will be available for certain bets.

The opinion to cashout is not always available even if several matches are completed and won.
For example I had 3 of the four matches completed and won way before the final match was to commence and I checked to see if cashout was available 1 hour before the final match in my parlay was available. Just to see how much I would be able to get if I did. Usually it is the same odds multipled by your stake which are completed which you are able to cashout.
Noticed this with the patriots game I bet on last night. Cashout wasnt available when the game was half way done.
Dont know about darts if they are long drawn out matches but I am thinking it wouldnt be any different. Cashout option is given at the discretion of the bookie they are using and not available even if the match is half way done.

Since you had an active bet and you had the opportunity to cancel or cash out during the live game if you think that the game is not going your way you must be compensated, not sure what kind of compensation would be fair because the entire incident started with you logging from your friends IP who is also a member and then they freezes your account without giving you the opportunity to make any decisions, so it would be fair if they give you a free roll or a percentage for a free bet with a 1.5 odds.

This is an interesting question about policies and gambling experience. It's good that the situation with the account being frozen was resolved, but I think it is fair that you lost your money. After all, it was you who placed the bet in the first place and backing out on bets actually seems like something that should not be allowed as a normal thing to do. But anyway, I think you should write to Sportsbet.io with your suggestion about a policy change about the frozen money. If you do it in their ANN thread, you might also get feedback from other gamblers, apart from their response, and other gamblers can find it useful to see what's the company's stance on this matter. Since you had an active bet and you had the opportunity to cancel or cash out during the live game if you think that the game is not going your way you must be compensated, not sure what kind of compensation would be fair because the entire incident started with you logging from your friends IP who is also a member and then they freezes your account without giving you the opportunity to make any decisions, so it would be fair if they give you a free roll or a percentage for a free bet with a 1.5 odds.

You’ve then started another account & they must have linked your name or IP address to a self excluded account & they’ve stopped you betting?
