I realized today that Codeacademy.org has transformed to what they now call Starter League and now charge for coding lessons.

Does anybody know another good service where one can learn various coding languages?

Thanks

I learned to code from the library.  Checked out some books on programming and worked through them.  I didn't even have a computer back then.  Wrote my first programs with pencil and paper.  Later I convinced a teacher to let me use the school district's computer and typed my program through a 30 cps teletype machine.  Kids these days have it so easy. I wanted to buy the book "The C++ Programming Language 4th Edition" by Bjarne Stroustrup(the creator of the language) so I can understand it, but the book was mighty expensive translated in my own language(going over $100). But supposedly it's a must-have book.
