Our vision of FrugalNet (
www.frugalnet.org) is to create cost effective wireless network infrastructures for all users. Started in rural areas in 2012, individuals whom were frustrated with a lack of a common infrastructure began to research cost effective methods to accomplish a fair standard of data access.
Our approach utilizes many known and common practices; by leveraging a standardized approach, layered with industry expertise and knowledge of common pitfalls impacting current operators, FrugalNet endeavors to resolve access issues to cost effective data networks.
Our team of local experts with decades of enterprise experience are also available for any IT related service and support required; from simple PC and laptop support, to corporate class disaster recovery, complex and resilient networking and data centre design and remote based expert support irregardless of your location.
Our project, when put into practice, creates a disruptive economic model in the telecom sector, based on the commons model along with a collaborative, community focused economy. The deployment and growth of a common-pool network infrastructure by FrugalNet creates a fair and sustainable utility.
FrugalNet is now listed on the WAVES DEX Platform under “Frugal”.
Frugal is an autonomous token that does not fit within the standard definition/role of an Asset, Currency, Reward, Utility or Security token. The role ultimately will be determined by the initiative’s contributors via a future, independent and fair process.
FrugalNet does not operate as a legacy business model. We operate as a Distributed Autonomous Organization (“DAO”) whereby all contributors steer the future direction of our ideology and initiative.
This gives contributors around the globe the ability to truly impact the future of FrugalNet’s mission to enable globally what is a true utility, that being access to real time data infrastructure for the purposes of education, agriculture, e-commerce, research, government, retail, commercial, residential, etc.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?The strength of a FONN relies on its contributors; either from private, public, or crowdfunding.
You can be involved in any combination of ways in support of your local community:
- Subscribe to your local community pool wireless service. Your subscription allows your local community to provide excellent low cost service in a transparent manner, while promoting the local economy.
- Help us extend the network by making a contribution to the project.
- Provide a location to host hardware in your community.
- Interconnecting with your telecommunications provider to share service with other’s potentially less fortunate.
- If you are a company, we can work together to provide a cost effective solution to any given area. We work with non-profits globally also that want to strive to solve connectivity issues.
- If you are an investor, we can discuss multiple different avenues to not only enhance the public good, but do it in a ethical and corporately responsible manner.
- If you are professional, you can advocate our approach to offering data services within your network to allow for more growth. We believe it to be a utility by it’s own right, especially in the 21st century, from eHealth, eEducation, eCommerce to name a few.
- If you are an educator, encourage students to study and get involved with our projects in your neighbourhood or community.
