KIK is a Canadian social media and messenger app, 2 years ago in 2017 they were doing ICO and raised $100 million on their sale afterward SEC sued them because they were doing a sale on unregistered securities offering(just like what happened with GRAM lately). After that Kik was shutting down their project and focused only on their token KIN, but now there is a possibility for them to continue to develop it again.

I hope this is for good. It is glad that they were able to rise up amidst their legal entanglement with SEC. But was their case already settled in finality? That was definitely something that consumed a significant amount of the money they raised during the ICO. Due to SEC's fault-finding role, that money that should have been dedicated to quality development was wasted over quality lawyers instead.

On the other hand, the price of KIN was severely affected it already hit the ground gasping for breath. It looks like the project has a lot of recovery to do.

It seems like the problem with SEC will always follow KIK, This partnership to remove all of the negativities about KIN from the market because the developer is aware if they need more and more money.

Until KIk will be finished its problem with SEC and so many uncertainties will always there.

I can say kik is not a healthy project to invest in.

It is to be expected that the price of the KIN TOKEN will increase in the following months as they have announced that they will continue with the development of the TOKEN.

At that time we couldn't even think about Facebook or Telegram in crypto! So it was great news for the crypto community and Kik raised good money for that hype! KIK won't be kicking for long and even now since the damages are too serious not to bother. And even it's under new management it won't be enough to convince SEC regarding to its issue.

They sold the messanging app and whats next? Crypto exchange? Ah, this is already a struggling company and i dont know how long they will last especially the competition is rough.

Until now I still use the KIK application for group chat purposes. Yes it is fun to meet new people. But gradually, the people inside are mostly pervert, you know. Almost all of its contents are about pornographic images, or we are told to join livecam members. If indeed the company owner does not proceed well, I think KIK will die slowly.

Ok understandable explanation and then what happen to the raised fund of $100m are this one can be able to use to develop the project? Or this fund is on hold since like you said they are unregistered before .

they explained that kik would be bought by the company, but what company? and they said the kik would be developed from that, I concluded that they only told us that kik would be sold to large companies to continue the project, there was no clarity here yet.

I don't really know much about this Kik thing personally but I've heard quite some news about it. I think you just have to make a thorough investigation if you want to invest in cryptocurrency.

I don't know, the case by SEC took its tool on the project and there are even reports that it Kik Project Enters Crypto Hall of Shame as KIN Goes to Zero.

So if they are planning to make a come back, better be good this time because for sure their reputation had precedent itself amongst crypto investors. Anyways, best of luck to those who investors who wanted to take risk.
