Nowadays, we can see Crypto-related hack everywhere. Recently, I was reading news where it was written that North Korea Uses fake Cryptocurrency Companies to break into macOS.

The Lazarus Group, considered by the U.S. government and numerous cybersecurity companies to be sponsored by North Korea, are trying to get into Macs via some fake cryptocurrency software created by a front company.

How it worked?

According to Apple Mac security specialist and principal security researcher at Jamf Patrick Wardle: The hackers created a fake company that completely resembles the official website. In this latest case, the North Koreans set up the front company, JMT Trading.

They then wrote an open-source cryptocurrency trading app and put it up on the code-sharing site GitHub. Hidden within that code, though, was malware that, when downloaded onto a target Apple PC, would give the hacker the ability to do anything they wanted on the Mac.

The hackers may then go a step further by contacting administrators and users of cryptocurrency exchanges, asking them to test and review their new app, Wardle told Forbes. If they get lucky, they get a bit of leverage in an official cryptocurrency vendor and start infecting targets.

North Korea has repeatedly tried to find a way into cryptocurrency coffers, with a good degree of success. In August, reports indicated it had made as much as $2 billion by hacking into a mix of traditional banks and cryptocurrency companies. Some of that money appears to be going into helping the state develop weapons of mass destruction.

I really don't get why so many people pay all that ton of money in a poor hardware (compared to other same price hardware), with poor customization options, with more difficult to use pirated stuff, and the logo of an apple for 4-5x the price (not to mention the incompatibility of cables, software, hardware...).

There are  so many good OS options, for mobile and desktop, with better sync because there are no limitations created by the developer.

You cant stop people on paying up some premium prices with these devices with having that apple OS.They would surely switch later on
when they do have been completely wrecked or exploited.

No OS is perfect though but its always better to stick out on established ones.

Windows is also vulnerable , linux is a much better option but that is not user friendly and i do not enjoy working on it. That only looks good if you are working in an office with your servers on linux 

The interest here is how to protect the crypto from being hacked and it is never safe to store them on your local PC. You should have a hardware wallet even if you have only 0.5 btc worth of bitcoins with you.

Windows 7 Support ends on January 14th 2020. That is just a few months down the road, and will leave a Windows 7 based computer with no further security updates nor updates, nor support from Microsoft. Windows will be Windows for good or bad, but if you are on it, one should not lag behind version upgrades too long.

That is just a few months down the road, and will leave a Windows 7 based computer with no further security updates nor updates, nor support from Microsoft. Windows will be Windows for good or bad, but if you are on it, one should not lag behind version upgrades too long.

Not at all true.
To be honest, Antivirus is not the perfect solution to protect yourself from malicious programs. It is a good and essential one but not perfect.
There are so many breaches every day in important systems even if they are using antivirus software.
The virus can come in any package and execute itself while the system load is low and by using cryptography and steganography they hide the program in plain sight while changing their checksum which makes it harder to detect.

Im shocked. North Korea isn't very technically advanced yet still can setup team of people that made so much damage.
Saw in past their propaganda video of computer tech savy people that pretended to do something on computer pushing random buttons while on video.
Crazy that they pulled it off.

I would agree, just recently upgrade to windows 10 even windows 7 is still works fine. Sad but we have to let go.

Back to OP, I think even we use the latest OS if hackers did find our system vulnerable, they can hack it anytime and the least that we can do is not to put too many extensions nor just seldomly use chrome.

I think it would certainly work in my opinion. Seldomly using chrome, less extensions and don't download carelessly since downloading is also one of the reason that the devices will be infected with virus or malwares that can compromise our assets without noticing until you find out something wrong.
