Its a helpful tips from op but yes shits happens and we must be prepared for it, even we did our best to avoid failing with our investment sometimes losing is inevitable and its part of the risk that we have to take.

IMO popular coins are way safer to invest compared to new ones regardless how promising it is. In well established coins we have assurance that our money has a possibility to grow though still its not 100%. Other investors prefer to invest in new coins because of the cheap price and solid team but I have my own way to spot a coin that has potential.

Investing in crypto is a bit scary, I have been investing here for 3 years, and starting a new one since 2019, I bought BTT and got results, but in Waves I was stuck and still holding Waves for 4-5 months without profit

It is almost impossible to find good project that is not Binance IEO. All other projects are struggling to collect enough money, exiting scam or quitting in any other way. Invest in IEOs on big exchanges and you won't miss.
