Crawford vs. Kavaliauskas
When: December 14
Venue: Madison Square Garden

Quote
Terence “Bud” Crawford will defend his WBO welterweight world title against undefeated mandatory challenger Egidijus “Mean Machine” Kavaliauskas Saturday, December 14 at Madison Square Garden as part of a special ESPN-televised tripleheader that will immediately follow the 2019 Heisman Trophy Presentation (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT). ESPN Deportes will provide the Spanish-language telecast.

https://www.boxingscene.com/crawford-vs-kavaliauskas-finalized-december-14--143385

There's no odds at sportbet.io yet but I'm sure Crawford will be the favourite here. Well, it says mandatory challenger, but I must say that Crawford should step up his competition. Bob Arum really knows how to protect his cash-cow.

We have been talking about a potential clash between the 2 best welterweights, Spence Jr and Crawford. However, we don't know if this can happen in the future though.

Kavaliauskas wasn't too convincing in his last outing which ended in a draw by majority decision. But both boxers go into this fight undefeated. Crawford would almost certainly be the favorite to win this bout. But with the strings of surprises we've had this year, he would need to take the gloves off, and prepare adequately for his opponent.

We have been talking about a potential clash between the 2 best welterweights, Spence Jr and Crawford. However, we don't know if this can happen in the future though.

It will happen, we're talking about massive marketing strategy here.  They are just building enough hype to sell this fight in the future. Boxing politics and conflict of promoters are a perfect alibis to keep this fight hanging.
However, the speculations about these two fighter (Crawford and Spence Jr.) has built enough audiences already.

Additional for the boxing records.
Terrence Crawford is totally has the advantage for the records.
But this fight is exciting since these two professional boxers has both no lost. Exciting, eh? This match will be tough for both because this fight will decide for their first lost.
I'm going for Terrence Crawford. I don't really trust or impress for every challenger in boxing.

Kavaliauskas is a high risk - low reward fight for Crawford imho. For the die hard Crawford fans, this is going to be another not worth betting match here. I see Crawford ML 1.02. Grin

We have been talking about a potential clash between the 2 best welterweights, Spence Jr and Crawford. However, we don't know if this can happen in the future though.

Bob Arum is still the best promoter when it comes to match making and creating superstars. But this isn't hiding Bud from the other 147 champs. Crawford himself and Bob knows that they are favorite to beat any of the other 147 champions and stars. This is the reason why Bob is always trying to negotiate with Haymon to make the Crawford-Spence fight.

On the other hand, Haymon knows he got most of the big names at 147. He knows they are all underdogs against the p4p king (Crawford). This is why Haymon won't answer any calls from Bob. Haymon is protecting his assets thus depriving us especially Crawford vs Spence.

My opinion, Crawford will smash the other 147 champions.

Crawford will always be the favorite whenever he fights but we can never say that this fight would be easy for him as we have seen a lot of close fights that the favorites almost lost like the GGG fight.

All Crawford need to do is focus on his training and have that mindset that he is the underdog for him to get that motivation to train.

Kavaliauskas is a high risk - low reward fight for Crawford imho. For the die hard Crawford fans, this is going to be another not worth betting match here. I see Crawford ML 1.02. Grin

I hate to see that odds, too risky for bettors.

As the article says, Kavalauskas is the mandatory, but I think it is a weak challenge that's why Crawford or Arum put in the works because of the less risk involved.

@Oasisman - I agree mate, boxing politics really hinders the mega fight that boxing fans should enjoy. If ever they fight in the future, I think Crawford will have the advantage, imho. The audience has been building up already, it's just the promoters doesn't want it at this point and I'm sure those two are eager to face each other as well.

The promoters still wants to maximize the opportunity to monetize these two fighters. Of course a lot of people will watch their respective fights against different opponent, so fans could easily speculate and study the possibilities when these two meet in the same ring, and adding up the hype as well.

If you remember how they built up the Pacquiao Mayweather fight, both are out of their prime, but still it became the "super bowl" of boxing. That's a world class marketing lol.

Crawford is the favorite in this fight even if they are both undefeated,Kavaliauskas on the other hand has a good record but not enough to beat Crawford
though i know boxing fight decides after and not in the preview but even to look back on their tracks still Crawford is the advantageous in this bout
preparing my bet for the First fighter since its only 2 months before the event so better be ready ahead

I never heard of Kavaliauskas before, but in paper he has an impressive records, highlights here:

Looks like this guys is on pure offense, coming forward fighter and this is perfect for Crawford. Really good job from Top Rank because this is a tailor made for Crawford and he will really look good in this fight. Remember style makes fight so I think this is an easy fight for Bud.

Yup I was about to post that too, this guy is an offensive machine and very violent with his attack I don't know much about his defense if he goes against Crawford with that kind of attack he will be in trouble, he will be likened to Gamboa who made a lot of mistakes by doing a lot of offense against a very good counter puncher in Crawford, I don't rule out an upset here, but let's see Kavaliauskas has a punching power, he can pull an upset.

Kavaliauskas has posted quite a mediocre performance on his last bout against Ray Robinson resulting into a draw. He would have won that fight had he not hesitated to go into Robinson's defense in the last 4 rounds or so. Anyway, I still see this match as a one-sided one with the clear winner from Crawford. Yes, they may both be undefeated, but Crawford still has an awful lot of weight with his last wins against Amir Khan, Jeff Horn among others. I'd skip this match-up as this is certainly not the ones that you can get some juice on, especially with one clearly having the huge disadvantage against the other.

Against a very good counter boxer like Crawford, he has no chance yes he has power but his defense is very doubtful and he is not fighting a classy fighter like what Crawford has fought, the experience will play a major factor here, and Crawford proves to be too much for Kavaliauskas
I will not say that it will be a walk in a park, but Crawford will just add Kavaliauskas to his win resume or even knock out.

Crawford better be focused against this unknown guy or an upset happens. Guy got the power to KO opponents.

Crawford should not be distracted like this guy in this video. https://www.facebook.com/JustBoxing365SecondsOut/videos/564305917706422/

Only Spence can make Crawford odds at 1.6 or above. The rest like Danny Garcia, Thurman and Pacquiao are 1.6 below.

Due to rampant politics in boxing, seldom we can find a 50/50 fight.

Speaking of a 50/50 fight. Don't forget to watch this weekend's Artur Beterbiev-Oleksandr Gvozdyk unification fight. Bet on Gvozdyk and come back to me if you lose. Grin

He will be countered by Crawford all day long when he tries to go closer.Yes, I would agree that it will be a similar fight to Gamboa and we all know what happens to that fight. Gamboa being so aggressive and thought that he can just steam rolled Crawford that time that he keeps on coming on.

But Crawford was just countering him with left hooks and Crawford won the fight knocking down Gamboa three times and exposing him, and giving Gamboa his first lost.

Oh look, Crawford is fighting another fight outside the top 10, rather than attempting to unify the division.

Other than Jeff Horn, Crawford has barely fought anybody of note, and is clearly ducking the unification match with Pacquiao or Spence.

I actually think Crawford is trying to wait until Pacquiao is straight up too old, so he can walk over him.

Crawford will obviously win, but this isn't the fight we want to see.

I agree that we don't like to see him fighting no name fighters in the 147 lbs division. But I disagree that he is ducking the fight with either Pacquiao or Spence, clearly the roadblock is in his boxing promoter, Top Rank - Bob Arum. Who wouldn't love the big paycheck against Pacquiao? but since he is on the other side now with Al Haymon it's going to be very hard for those promoters to sit down and put the negotiation in the table.

Crawford would be the favorite on here and seeing those stats you can easily point out on whose one do have the edge.
They do have almost the same Knockout percentage but in terms of fight experience then Terrence do have it but I would
say that this wont be an easy fight which I believe that Kavaliauskas will perform well on this one.Dont know why you do hate
challengers but upsets can happen anytime.  Grin

I would say that fighters doesn't care about any unification, they simply wanted to get as much money as they can. And we all know that Arum protects his stable of fighters just like what he did during Manny's prime and he really build his career up to that mega fight with Floyd Mayweather. Kavaliauskas might be weaker but this is good for Arum, in-house fights and all money going to his bank account. I think Crawford vs Spence could happen, but it should generate a big hype similar to Pacquaio and Floyd before those two promoters step aside their difference because of the huge money that it can potentially bring.

With that said, Crawford by TKO in late rounds.
