What happened to NEO and ICX?

NEO which is said to be the leading cryptocurrency in China and ICX for Korea hasn't really been trending recently even with development updates. I've come to realise that most altcoins see price spikes because of hype especially from influencers or upcoming news or market manipulation and not  how great the project is. I've been following NEO and ICX and I'm really impressed with those projects, but their development updates  doesn't affect price positively. What could be the reason behind this? I will like to hear your opinions if you still believe in those projects.

Because both of them were used to be a hype type project especially ICX, if you were here a year ago you should have seen how bad it was. The price was heavily manipulated not only from the trader but the team was doing that too, I remembered when they said they were going to give you a free coin because of a fork or something I forgot about it. But ended up delaying it which caused the price to decline, this project has been an overpriced project for me from the start.

ya NEO was like a top pick of mine in 2018, kinda sad its gone flat, tho, the chart kinda looks the same as most coins over last year or two the reason? they were all mostly just cash grabs tbh haha

NEOs big score is the GAS, i have some NEO from the ICO (when it was Antshares), and the gas is a nice passive income, kinda like a masternode or PoS coin, you get GAS just for holding NEO

Now updates do not affect at the price in any way because updates are not a reason for new investors to invest in these projects. investors are waiting for the whole market to start moving in a positive direction

They were too much hype but both failed to deliver their promises.
Antshares became NEO and they said they'd compete with Ethereum, all they did and are doing is visiting conference and Da Hongfei stating how much bitcoin rose and what would be the price of NEO if it rises similarly. The team even started another project with large hype called ontology which too is getting neglected.

NEO and ICX are one of the potential coins that have been on the market for a long time, but I have not found any developments about NEO and ICX. there was no development whatsoever reaction to the price of the coin.

After the hype around NEO subsided, I stopped following this project. In my opinion, this project is almost entirely dependent on the hype. Maybe I'm wrong.

 holders are still receiving gas from NEO by keeping it on their wallet so its still providing a passive income for them.
is it still the no.1 cryptocurrency in China? the last time i check its EOS already. much had changed since the arrival of TRON and EOS, they really know how to check the project's technology but they are still fond of the ETH and NEO still ranks among the top 10 so its not so bad at all to hold it.

I hold the NEO coin for over a year and then I sold it a few months ago. NEO was called the second Ethereum in China, by holding NEO, you can get all NEP5 coins automatically. But yet I was not happy with the price. Because they did not have major updates, and their updates did not help the price enough. For ICX, this is another one of my favourite coins! They had some big partnerships this year and the price went to 0.42$, which was great comparing the altcoin bear market! I believe NEO and ICX both coin price will be a bounce back after a major update in the crypto market, it can be BTC halving or Ethereum 2.0 upgrade!

Definitely seems like both of these projects have just lost a ton of investor support and perhaps didn't do enough with their platforms in terms of achieving goals while they were still in the limelight in late 2017 to late 2018 when alt markets were still going strong. The current bearish market conditions most crypto markets are in at the moment certainly doesn't help with their pricing recently, even despite whatever features the devs of these two projects are accomplishing.

Things might start to slide upwards when things aren't as bearish as they are now, but considering these two projects are now significantly less hyped than they were in the past, there's a chance they may never reach their highs again. Market conditions and investor sentiment and behavior in general was much different back in 2017, and people are generally now much more pessimistic about alt investments.

Personally i like both these projects and im stillholding them and im sure they have great potential to grow in value, i will suggest others to keep hodling them as well and also please keep in mind that it is not about neo or icx only whole market and alts are struggling to show any bullish moves from almost 1.5 years now, just have a look at the biggest coins and check all of them are terrible value wise at the moment, even the coins with biggest communities like eth, xrp, xlm and ada are not showing any bulls but im quite sure that bulls will come and next bullish cycle will be massive.

Nothing happened to them that didn't happen to the whole cryptoshpere man.
Wan & ICX have the best Dev team out there, the project going on & kicking better than most crypto projects so far.

People still think that they will see those All Time Highs of the coin/s they hold again, hard for that to happen any sooner, people should know that by now.
2018-2019 has been the year of trading for sure, small daily profits, rinse & repeat, that holding bullshit isn't working anymore.

WAN & ICX are in my bag & part of them are for long term holding, the majority is wing trading for me.

I don't know anything about ICX but Neo is a great project.  Even if it wasn't a great project with further development, it is still a great coin to hold because of its ability to earn gas. 

Every altcoin has taken a pounding in the past few months, but Neo at least has kept a good deal of it's value and it's still trading at around $7.  Many alts that have been around much longer are trading for a few satoshis at most but that isn't the case with Neo.

the first is that a project development does not always have a direct positive effect on the price of coins / tokens. need a lot of time, including investor support and trading volume in the market. I also follow NEO and I also invest there, every increase of +0.1 +0.2 and so on, always positive and just wait for the highest spike.

No wonder that NEO will not be so trendy like some new tech out there. Check out eth it still has good stance in the market. Both NEO and ICX are just same concept and imitation with eth project and most people prefer the friendly user of ETH. That's what Im talking about, even though new projects are good we can't deny that the predecessor project are the first one and stable platform to build with.

Do you think what they have shown up to the public as a good result? Remember if we are moving forward and what has already offered by NEO and ICX on its latest development are not what already expected by the public.
These days so many trusted companies that offered various product with real usage to user's real life. NEO and ICX offer nothing in this time.
People are not seeing the blockchain as a product again and what they are looking for to search the utility from the platforms.
So many blockchain platforms these days are much better than ICX and NEO. that's why the updates that have already made by ICX and NEO are crap updates.
The updates are focusing to the blockchain improvement while people in these days are wanna seeing more and more platform offering utility that can give benefit to the token holders.

Right, many altcoins pumped because of the hype that their marketing did and it's all effective because many blind investors are investing to those altcoins that they didn't even know the vision, goal and what it is all about. I've known NEO because of the GAS that it provides to its holders. I think it became quiet not because of the gone hype but because of the market's presence seem to be silent and low today.

NEO is much faster and more practical than ETH. Even when it was created, it was expected to surpass ETH, but the boom for increase was also for the fall. Compared to one another, NEO is more powerful, but the strength is not enough. If NEO comes with innovations from now on, it can climb up as time goes on. Difficult to give an idea, we can see how they will continue over time. So is ICX, the bad situation of the market has a big role in this predicament too. Lets wait for the situation to improve.
