Cheap or expensive coins, it doesn't matter because you are not required to buy a whole coin. Take note that when you say expensive it should be based on their capitalization and not the per coin price. Take for instance, Ripple is more expensive than Litecoin. Litecoin is just more expensive per coin because it has low supply compared to the billions of Ripple coins in supply.

There is no such thing as "minimum" amount to invest. You can invest with any amount of coins. Its not like you will have to invest on cheap coins since you don't have high investment amount. Remember, you don't need to buy one whole coin to trade or hold. You can always hold or trade a fraction of a coin. Isn't it better to own a fraction of a good coin rather than owning a whole shit coin?

That's a good capital to use for daily trading but you must be able to understand that it's not always gonna be as it potrays so always look before you leap, try having more education on stop loss, marlet price and limit price

To me bitcoin is the only costly coin presently, all other coins have crashed and even the top altcoins are in loss, i would rather invest in altcoins since they have lose over 90percent of value already, it will be a good buy for real, just make sure they are good coins

Is it more than enough in order to make daily trades but make sure you know how to trade and don't get into panic sell or panic buy. Make sure you're using top exchanges ( see coinmarketcap top exchanges ) and then start trading top altcoins if you really want to make some profits because if you trade non-name coins you will loose money most of the cases.
 
If you want to invest the best example is you make your own research about the projects and rarely listen to investment advice from internet users in this way you will not invest in shill coins. I would suggest to you to buy from top 50 on coinmarkercap but on same way you can try to find some hidden gems.

yes you're right with a $500, ethereum is the best choice. with a lot of speculation about ethereum 2.0, this will be very beneficial for long-term hold. instead of buying altcoin which is difficult to predict, ethereum is a choice for beginners. so it doesn't hurt to buy ethereum for now.

That would be the fate of yours once you invest with shit projects, there's no assurance that you'll be able to get successful if your investment is on the hands of those untrusted people. So what do you suggest? Dont do trading, and keep it on the bank? The guys asking potential coin out there and you will just give him a negative feedback hence there are lots of projects out there that can be suggested.

For OP, if you want to start with $500 better to start off on huge market cap coins. Read some analysis on how these coin have change their market price. From there, if you already knows how to understand and somehow you gain profit, get out youre comfort zone and try a much higher risk one.

for your beginners. Check the entire project content such as team, road map, white paper.
Check various features offered by the project such as privacy coins or decentralized coins.
Check how valuable the coins are or compare with other more popular coins. if coins have potential, of course having a multi-professional team & the volume of coins is always increasing. I suggest you buy BTC so that you avoid undeveloped projects.
