I'm looking to sell some CSGO skins for BTC, I was wondering what sites other than Bitskins would be the best right now?

What is even going with Bitskins? They were announcing that they were going to shut down and apparently new ownership has now taken over or something? Are they still safe to use?

Also, anyone had any experience with sites like Skinbay or Skinbaron?

Yes.

They announced they had a new owner ~2 weeks ago: https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sr1bvb

And with crypto back:
Quote
Cryptocurrencies are making a return! Depositing and withdrawing cryptocurrencies will be possible again! Deposits will be available very shortly and withdrawals will be implemented in within a week as we work out the final details.

The $2.000 purchase and maximum item listing amount will be removed as well!

I would be careful with it, since we don't know the intentions behind the new owner.

Also, anyone had any experience with sites like Skinbay or Skinbaron?
I didn't use neither of them since I stopped playing CSGO a while ago, but I had a few friends that used Skinbay and they affirm it is legit. So it should be a valid option.

Thanks. I'll try out skinbay then.

I was leaning towards Bitskins because of the fact that they had significantly more liquidity it seems and way more users. But with new ownership, I'm really unsure about whether or not they're even legit to begin with given the fact that we don't know who they are.

Has anyone used skinbaron?

SkinBaron is very reputable but very expensive. If you don't mind the high fees, then it's probably the best alternative to BitSkins otherwise, take a look at SkinBay as suggested above or CS.Deals.

My problem with cs.deals is probably again, lack of liquidity.

Yes, they offer 1% fees but they don't even offer paypal to the buyers which means that there is less demand for skins on their site anyway. I'm not sure how feasible it is or even how long you're expected to wait when using them.

I've listed my stuff on skinbay and i'll let everyone know how it goes.

I've used Skinbaron in the past as well, and it took a while for my skins to sell because the site's relatively small and there doesn't seem to be a ton of trading volume, but the process was overall smooth. Seems like a lot of Bitcoin-related skin marketplaces have closed down leaving just a ton of quickselling sites now, sucks because those sites give such poor rates for your skins. I still actively trade skins and I'm still going through Bitskins because it's got way more site traffic and sale volume than any alternatives at the moment, though. I'm also cautious with the new management, but it's still the best option for getting crypto for your skins IMO.

If you've got time, you could also work out P2P deals with people on a subreddit like r/GlobalOffensiveTrade on Reddit as well.

Used Skinbaron before as well. Their fee is a lot, like seriously. 15% is no joke, however, it works. Did not have any problems with them. BitSkins was the best way to go in terms of crypto skins, try to find someone on Reddit or use Skinbaron, I would hold off selling if possible though. With the Bitskins shutdown/reopening kind of thing, the people are acting fast to sell their items which lowered the overall price of them.

15% is a lot.

Bitskins tried to charge that much at faced essentially what is instant backlash from the community.

UPDATE: 3 skins sold on skinbay. They seem to have decent turnover/volume as far as I can see at this stage. The 3 that was sold were all of low monetary value though, and I'm still waiting for my knife and an AK-case hardened to sell.

Bitskins has reopened actually. There are a couple issues and good things to take from it though.

- They are now accepting crypto and other payment methods (a payment scheme which the old bitskins didn't allow). KYC is required if you are from the EU though.
- Old accounts on bitskins only have a 5 percent selling fee, but if you register a new account nowadays you will be charged 15 percent on bitskins which is crazy.
- Skin Baron is only good if you are from the EU imo.

Skinbay and lootbear seem like good options nowadays.

I think that the CSGO skin market is approaching its inevitable demise each day. The prices for some skins are getting lower and lower, not to mention the people actually playing the game. Unless Valve actually does several radical changes for both the economy and the game itself, I don't think it will last long. The market has been stagnant for quite a while now.

It could be, it's super weird in the current state. After the gambling bans skins slowly declined until a sudden rise in skins again and now with more sites open it's dropped again.

It all really comes to what cashout options are available for the people, if there are a lot of cheap and quick ones, the scene will thrive, but it looks like it's not the case with mode sites charging a massive 10-15 percent, not to mention withdraw fees.

I've used Skinbaron once after i got drop with good steam market price few years ago and it was quite convenient.
But for unknown reason, i can't open their website now.

15% seems high, but even steam market have 15% fees (AFAIK depending on the games)
Can't open it either, wtf... Difference between is that steam wallet money isn't real money.

We have OPSkins back in business.

And for those who don't know, Skinbaron halves the fees for private listing, but still pretty shit since that means less exposure.

Opskins is the peer to peer system isn't it? I know they can't really hold skins anymore since they introduced express trade which was really pushing it since it basically replicated steam trading without the trade hold.

I believe they are in a more VGO and real life hypebeast based market now, they seem to be supplying a lot of skins for the new VGO gambling platforms, and they also are a pain in the ass with ID verification she other stuff so it might not be the best bet.

7.5 percent for skinbaron is still a shit ton and definitely not what I'll be comfortable paying...

Correct, so no need to deposit through their bots anymore. It somewhat a (gray/ legal) bypass.

They own WAX which hosts those VGO skins so the demand is still there for gambling.

Unfortunately there's no clear winner. Skinbay fees, Cs.deals low liquidity, Bitskins new ownership. The rest also fall inbetween those categories.

Would honestly make a lot of sense for a new competitor to enter the market. Skinbay I think could also be one of the frontrunners at consolidating market share based on my experience with them this time.

I honestly don't see OPSkins as an alternative. They are trading something completely virtual and unrelated to actual CSGO skins here. Who even is VGO issued by? OPSkins doesn't claim ownership yet they heavily endorse it.

Weird system... Reminds me of some of the new P2P withdrawals on a couple gambling sites, they are definetly weird and a shady way to get around the 7 day trade hold.

I believe VGO is owned by a Chinese company that basically generated random items that are worth money due to them being used as chips for gambling sites like vgoreaper.

Has anyone has any experience with lootbear? It seems pretty decent, you can earn some passive income of skins while you list them on the marketplace as well.

As long as the demand is there, they'll continue to thrive. But it's not about circumventing the 7D, but simply cutting the middleman (gambling site bots) so Valve doesn't need to ban again. In other words, Valve can't stop them because they aren't keeping any skins.

Do you have the source of the VGO creator? I checked the webpage, but there was no mention of any company.

Overall Lootbear is legit in terms of their business model, just don't rent out your best skins because naturally you're gonna come across scoundrels that will steal them no matter what. They won't overpay for any stickers/ floats.

Ridiculous, if money inside steam wallet isn't real money, you can't use it to buy games or digital items (skin, card, etc.).

The real problem is you can't withdraw your money inside steam wallet into bank and you don't plan to buy games/digital items on steam.

Real money in the sense of converting items back to fiat. By right, Steam doesn't "allow" that. They just want to protect the marketplace and enjoy the cut from excessive fees.

That's why third-party cashout or trading sites exist to help.

Update: Sold everything on skinbay without issues. Withdrawal was processed by coinbase and done almost instantaneously (<5 minutes). Highly recommend them.

I found that if you lower your prices to around 30%~ under market on skinbay you are almost guaranteed to have a sale within 24h. So don't use their instant sell function since that's usually 50%~ under market price.

Can't open it either, wtf... Difference between is that steam wallet money isn't real money.

It's more "credit" than it is money. You can't transfer steam balances.
