As expected Northeast United won today's match against East Bengal and now have 30 points. Goa is also having 30 points, but they are placed higher thanks to a superior goal difference. Hyderabad is at 5th place, with 28 points. Just one match remains for each of the teams. Goa will take on Hyderabad, and Northeast will be taking on Kerala. The teams ranked 3 to 5 still have a chance of making it to the knockout phase, but the chances are highest for Goa and Northeast.

Mumbai City had a devastating performance against the weakest team of the season today after losing points in several consecutive matches. They beat Odisha by 6-1 goal.

^^^ Nice comeback from Mumbai City, after losing two consecutive matches. Odisha was the disappointment this season, and they will end up at the last position in the points table. And the irony is that it was Odisha who scored first. Diego Maurício put Odisha ahead by 1-0 in the 9th minute, before Mumbai City destroyed them without a trace. Congratulations to Bipin Singh Thounajam, for scoring the hattrick for Mumbai City. I am sure that the national team selectors would have noticed his performance.

The final round of matches remain in this season's IPL. This time the top two teams completely dominated the tournament (ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC), while teams such as Kerala Blasters, Odisha and East Bengal continued with their poor performance. That match was more like a dead rubber, as both the teams didn't had any realistic chance of qualifying for the playoffs. This season was horrendous for Bengaluru FC, who finished on 7th spot. They don't have any more matches remaining and finished with 22 points from 20 matches. The most important match will be played on Sunday. FC Goa is taking on Hyderabad FC, and the winner will proceed to the playoffs.

Chances are better for FC Goa, since they need only a draw in their match against Hyderabad. Both the teams are heavily dependent on foreign players. FC Goa is having big names such as Igor Angulo, Jorge Ortiz, Edu Bedia and Iván González, while their opponents have players such as    Lluís Sastre, João Victor, Aridane Santana and Odei Onaindia. And regrading the second match, for me it is of little relevance. Both the teams are on top of the points table and the outcome of the match is unlikely to affect it.

Hyderabad fought hard to win the match. But until the end, they shared the points. I would have been happy if Hyderabad had won this match and qualified for the playoffs. Yet I was impressed to see Hyderabad's performance in this season. Hyderabad was the last team on the points table of the previous season. They have been the fifth team at the table this season. That's impressive.

Hyderabad deserved a place in the playoffs, but unfortunately they fell short by a few points. But I am sad about the poor performance by Bengaluru FC. The team which is captained by Sunil Chhetri deserved a better position in the points table. They ended up at 7th place with just 22 points. Being the most renowned Indian player, I was expecting more from Chhetri and Bengaluru FC.
