Some people are losing interest because the price of bitcoin is not moving upward like what happened on bull run 2017. That year many investors bought at peak price due to the crypto hype, majority of coins are soaring high thus we earn. But it didnt last long and bitcoin plunged to $3500 until finally the price recover slowly this year.

I think many of us are just waiting silently and monitoring the market if there's a changes. Newbies are the ones who lose interest because they dont know much about bitcoin unlike those old investors that knows how bitcoin works.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Even if they are losing interest but for sure they are not completely losing interest.
Just like the current market now which is pump and dump, people are also just going in and out but those who stay, been here in good times and bad times will definitely understand and trust crypto even if it struggles now.

I think theres a statistics about how many times Bitcoin and cryptocurrency was mentioned in any social media platform. That's one way to identify whether we're lossing interest from the people or not. I just don't know how they come up with those numbers.
However, Downtrend doesn't mean we're lossing people or interest. Investors and traders was just getting along with the momentum.
Regardless of that statistics you are talking about, I think people are not losing interest in Bitcoin it's just that they are waiting or hodling. Waiting as much as possible because they know that the bull is out there waiting to be released. And we people just like you said are getting along with the momentum. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and sell HIGH. Grin

That's what I wanted to point out.
The market situation nowadays is just fine, Im not seeing any signs of huge number of people become suddenly disinterested in investing to cryptocurrency.
Since you mentioned about the bull run, I am 80% sure that it will occur in the last quarter of the year 2020. Yeah, I'm talking about the bitcoin halving in 2020. Following the trend from the last 2 halving happened in 2012 and 2016, It seems that the bullrun happened a year after the halving. So, to make things short, in 2021 we will see the long term effect of the bitcoin reward halving.

I don't agree that people are losing interest for Bitcoin. Those who are only looking for fast profit will maybe give up soon but still I think that Bitcoin now already has respectable community. Maybe it's not so much in focus because the price isn't spectaculary high but loyal, constant community exist and it's spreading further, of that I'm convinced.

right, people who have received many good benefits from bitcoin will not lose their interest to stay, those who lose interest are only those who only take advantage of the situation to get fast profit by becoming FOMO in a bullish year, but some of them are trapped because of FOMO itself. so we cannot assume that bitcoin is declining because an interest has disappeared from many investors, this decline is just a cycle and the trend is very strong for the bear market to continue

There seems to be a trend not yet recognized by many experts and that is the withering interest of the people on Bitcoin, especially if we compare today with the days of 2017 and early months of 2018. Of course, we could not expect that people will always like, search and talk about Bitcoin for years. There will always be a plateau and a possible downtrend, sometime somehow.

Is this something we have to accept or should we do something about this?

Actually the people who joined bitcoin merely to mint some quick money out of it created a lot of buzz around this period but now have exited the market this makes it look like people have lost interest but this isn't the truth actually. Still the real adopters and acceptors are actually using it regularly. Even if you say this number isn't increasing it isn't decreasing either.

Here is the simple answer, the cryptocurrency market is not booming this year that is all. People always want the market where they can make lots of money fast in either the stock market, the gold market, the silver market, or the cryptocurrency market. People are just looking for where to get money fast and nothing more.

To be honest, working on bounties is no longer worth it cos of HUGE amount of scam projects and projects that eventually are closed cos of current market situation that takes place for months!

The next big goal to achieve the success in crypto is to transform the enthusiasm in bounty hunting into the enthusiasm in utilizing crypto by means that it should be used. Basically bounty hunting is good for a project but what might happen when bounty hunters becomes a trader is much more beneficial for the cryptocurrency space. Mostly, bounty hunters job is to earn and sell ahead, they can hodl a bit then focus more on trading since as you said so, bounty isn't that worthy at this time.
How to know people losing interested with bitcoin and altcoin, they look enjoy investing with bitcoin as investment for the future. Just today bitcoin back to lower price and drop to $7,5k. Very cheap price last than six months of bitcoin today, will be moment for bitcoin reached to higher price above $20k or bitcoin want to back under $2k, nice for waiting what will happen with bitcoin at least this year.

I think that a good indicator today is a clear decrease in the capitalization of the entire cryptocurrency market.  Of course, you might think that many cryptocurrency users sell cryptocurrency and withdraw their funds to Fiat, but to some extent, speculators who, thanks to manipulations in the cryptocurrency market, earn cryptocurrency and convert it to dollars, thereby not caring for the future and reducing the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market  .  But nevertheless, if we compare the indicators of the highest-rated cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum at the end of 2018, with the indicators for today, then I am sure that these indicators say very differently, that a fairly large number of people are still interested in cryptocurrency.

The difference between that time and now is back then Bitcoin is being hype,
People are making noise to attract new investors and now there aren't so many new investors and those newbie's who invested back in 2017-2018 I guess most of them actually left already due to the huge lost.
People didn't actually lose interest I think the market has been cleaned from the weak hands and ambitious people who thought that Bitcoin would make them instantly rich,
But reality hit them real hard and now most of them left the market.

Whenever there is big increase in the price of bitcoin it reaches the eyes of common people. Suddenly looking at the price itself they have a positive feeling on bitcoin. This means people are getting interested on bitcoin looking over the good that has taken place with relevance to bitcoin. If people have lost interest on bitcoin, now the market couldn't have experienced such a growth as now.

yeah, newbie weak hands are leaving bitcoin handing over their small amount of bitcoin to others who understand the true purpose of bitcoin, at a discount just to try and buy it back a couple of months later at a much higher price. Wink

They must get out of the game early and never return. Leave the crypto for us. Silly fiat slaves.

Some people are losing interest because of low price and also to its biggest downfall. But there are other people who are still believing that it will rise again and make the best out of it. Different perception are really present but no one could ever say what the future could bring

I think most of us will agree the future is broght for bitcoin. We do support it after all. It cant not go up in a few years. That just wouldnt make any sense to me.  People hear only when something is doing well.

2017 was a bullish year which was more of a fad. At that time many new people came in crypto owing to the hype which created an euphoric reaction. The popularity was the highest at that time which went quite low in 2018. But in 2019, the popularity geared up. If you follow the Google search chart and frequency for BTC and per day transaction chart, you will see that they have come to the same level as that of 2017. So, BTC isn't losing popularity.

Very true, these are the newbies who have weak faith with bitcoin because they only invest in bitcoin because it can give big profits but with todays price that is sometimes bearish then they will loss faith in bitcoin. The only people whose with bitcoin are those who have been with bitcoin through thick or thin. Bitcoin is very volatile and that investors should know better.

I don't think this are only newbie selling, and all weak hands don't necessary means it consist of newbie's there are a lot of old timers who are weak hands as well, they sell at the slightest drop in price, you can easily tell this from what you read on telegram groups, you will see who are those complaining, some will claim they have held for more than a year+ yet they want to sell because the loss faith in the project already, this people aren't newbie, the situation in market is making everyone to be afraid.

Holders who lose their money and patience some might bought the token at the peak and after seeing that the value falls they quickly judge. They quickly jumped into the dumped ride fearing that they will lose more, though even there's people who are doing this there's also some that still
standing optimistically, believing that everything will be back to the bullish momentum.

yeah, newbie weak hands are leaving bitcoin handing over their small amount of bitcoin to others who understand the true purpose of bitcoin, at a discount just to try and buy it back a couple of months later at a much higher price. Wink

This is capture what would be that bitcoin it is. The volatility of the market keeps going strong and it makes those doubters losses confidence with Bitcoin. Being profitable is the most reason people investing Bitcoin/crypto but it makes them difficult when the market turns like this( dumping). If the market will fall down deeper it absolutely affects the interest of the people and most likely they'll find other stuff to work with but they'll turn back in crypto once the market recovers.

Those who already give up last year probably only want to experience the hype BTC have in 2017, and got dissaponted when almost fell too low in price, the thing here they still didn't analyze what is it BTC have in the future since it's limited and will have many demand in the future those who are willing to face the volatility now can feel the fruit of sacrifices soon.

Some people are losing interest because of low price and also to its biggest downfall. But there are other people who are still believing that it will rise again and make the best out of it. Different perception are really present but no one could ever say what the future could bring

I can say, people are losing interest because they don't have the knowledge and understanding about how crypto behaves. Technically, it's quiet normal for traders to experience a big dump in price since they know the difference between market price and value. Market value of crypto is innate while market price can be altered. In this bitcoin declination, traders will just patiently wait for further drop in price. And then take advantage of the market value that a crypto has.

I think there are a lot of people who are losing interest in bitcoin. And I think that is because of the current situation of the prices. They don't think it is profitable enough that is why a lot of people are dumping their funds and just quit entirely.
I don't think it's only because of the price there had been several bad news : the hack of the Lightning Network while LN was a big hope for adoption, the FUD about the quantum computing progress of Google, the failure of the ETF, the failure of Bakkt, the failure of Libra and the failure of TON...

Is this something we have to accept or should we do something about this?
stop living in 2017 because we are near 2020 and things are more different from 2 years ago.people are not getting out of interest instead they are more knowledgeable by now so their interest is there but with much careful and security
they have learn that being possessive will bring them nothing but failure so why need to rush?when there are right timing on when to put money and when to take out?and besides there are different people in crypto, there are HODLERS and also traders but whatever side they are the important thing is they trust crypto and newbie like you doesn't know what that is
