Why not announce it well in advance and then fork off the Ravencoin chain? Currently, you have a post-fork announcement (while there was also no announcement well in advance on any other medium) creating an unfair advantage for people who planned on supporting this chain compared to everyone else that was unaware of this support.

Funny you should ask! I was in a very similar position with Ravencoin when I posted that projects original ANN on January 14th, two weeks after launch. I took this upon myself, as i did then, to simply inform the btctalk community that a project was able to be mined.

In short, I waited for someone else to do it for two weeks. I believe someone else attempted one, and i'm currently researching the history there.
