Government has cracked down bitcoin before (such as China and India). Do you think what is the possibilities of government crackdown on bitcoin in the next 10 years?
This is important to me as I am going to leverage heavily in the coming bull market. I may lose all my money if the government crack bitcoin once again.
Thank you a lot!

Yes we might see government crackdowns on crypto again in the foreseeable future. I do doubt that they will be very successful though.
Regardless of that, don't invest in a way that may have you lose all your money. Absolutely do not do that.
Crypto is highly volatile even ignoring changes in govermental policies. Unless you have a magic crystal ball that tells you the future you will never know if the next rally is the beginning of a bull market or just a bull trap. And once a bull market has been confirmed you'll never know how long it will last. Don't get burned.

What you do mean about crackdown? Government still continues how to suppressed bitcoins existence yet they do know on what are the things would be mainly affected if this would go mainstream. We cant predict the future though to give out precise possibilities that might happen ahead. For now government would just simply fought back by means of legality or regulation but stopping it completely isnt possible for now.

You are worrying too much. If you are too worried about the next ten years, you should not consider it a hindrance to your actions in the next months or years. Do your thing now and worry later or when it is near. You will surely cross the bridge when you get there. And I know you are aware that Bitcoin cannot be seized. Don't worry about the governments, Bitcoin can always go around them and their rules.

Government has cracked down bitcoin before (such as China and India). Do you think what is the possibilities of government crackdown on bitcoin in the next 10 years? look at these two countries you mentioned (india and china), look at your political, religious, tribal system and see what freedoms they give your people, if there is social and cultural justice. it would be hard bitcoin not to have problems in these two countries. you just have to worry about the US government, if the US government is still bitcoin friendly and then countries like japan and other rich countries don't create bitcoin barriers then everything will be fine This is important to me as I am going to leverage heavily in the coming bull market. I may lose all my money if the government crack bitcoin once again.
Thank you a lot! do you really want to take high risk?

Franklin.. first of all your risk management is not alright. You don't wanna lose all your money no matter what and you shouldn't make all in bets. Like the veteran trader Peter Brandt said - there are 50% chances BTC goes to 0 and 50% that it goes to $100k. Now the risk:reward ratio is very good here isn't it? Like you're risking to around $7500 at the current price to win more or less $100,000. To me that is a pretty good trade setup, but after all it all comes to you.

I am sure that the government will try to crack down again like China and India. But certainly it will not be in the near future. Because the crackdown on bitcoin must be well prepared, the government needs proof that bitcoin is problematic. As long as the government has not yet received evidence of the deterioration of bitcoin, they will be passive in monitoring the development of bitcoin. So now This is still in a safe condition to do investment, moreover the price of bitcoin is going down again. But don't use all the capital you have to buy bitcoin, save in a stable coin around 50%. So if bitcoin goes down again we can buy it again at a lower price.

At first I want to mention that despite the fact that we may give you valid arguments about whether governments will crack down bitcoin or not, still it means nothing cause no one knows what will come for example in Trump's mind, he loves crazy actions. On another hand I highly doubt they will crackdown it for some reasons. At first there is a lot of money put in bitcoin, it's like a commercial thing for some companies which include mining companies and etc. On another hand if they crackdown it for illegal activity reasons, then they must be aware that it doesn't matter, there is supply, there is demand. They will make situation hard and worse for themselves cause if they ban it, there will be new and better way which will be 100x difficult for them to fix.

There's definitely a good chance for that to happen, especially with countries like the United States whereas crackdowns from those kinds of countries can negatively affect the price a lot. And guess what? There's a good chance for another one of those 2018-like prices crashes(or probably bigger) due to a crackdown. Hence why the statement "don't invest what you're willing to lose" is being thrown around a lot, as huge price crashes can occur due to various unforeseeable reasons.

The pressure won’t stop if the government see irregularities in the space. But I think in the next 10 years Bitcoin will become more established than before and investors will gain more confidence, slowly more institutions will be involved.

More to come. And as well more to come who will accept it. It was supposed to be an enemy of government so expect it a lot. Perhaps, it would be an endlessly battle between bitcoin and the government. This is important to me as I am going to leverage heavily in the coming bull market. I may lose all my money if the government crack bitcoin once again.
Thank you a lot!
Monitor your country state condition towards crypto currency. Do not invest yet. It sounds like you are about to invest a lot of money right there huh. If there is something different between your country and bitcoin probably banning thoughts then it must be a total banning possibly in the next 10 years or may be a lot earlier than that.

before investing in bitcoin, of course you already know the risks, so you have to adjust how ready you are to take the risk, no one knows for sure the future of bitcoin, although the government supports or does not support if the price of bitcoin falls continuously, You will also still lose your money.

Invest those money that you can afford to lose. I heard this type of news many times.maybe chaina banned bitcoin 2-3 times. In 2017 china banned bitcoin and bitcoin crashed 4100$ to 2000$. Then I have one question, why China branned for 3-4 times? 1time is not enough? Maybe they are playing with crypto. And I don’t care which country banned bitcoin.I have fixed amount of bitcoin that i am hooding.i will hold 2-5 years.

That's always great advice, and especially nowadays when you have things like Libra getting extreme scrutiny from the government. Who knows what's going to happen, what laws are going to be passed regarding bitcoin? OP, any single government could crack down on crypto, but it would take a bunch of them altogether to really have an effect. I don't think the United States is going to do anything as far as outlawing bitcoin, even if they're giving Facebook a hard time. Bitcoin isn't a stablecoin like Libra is supposed to be and isn't really a substitute for fiat. Still, you just never know what these asshole lawmakers are going to do. Anyone remember Prohibition in the 1920s? Yeah, the US government was responsible for that failed experiment as well as the current war on drugs and everything else. They think they can legislate the world into being clean and squeaky, but they're silly for thinking that. My point is that I wouldn't put it past them to try to make crypto use illegal. But even if the US did it, it's only one country and it wouldn't necessarily stop people anyway.

I don't think United State will be considering such except if they are seeing bitcoin as a threat to the dollar but if this is not the worry, they might not be looking towards that. The United States currently might or might not be considering it, but it doesn't mean that they won't consider it in the near future. Especially as bitcoin grows and becomes more and more difficult to shut down as time goes, and as bitcoin becomes more and more of a risk to them.

A wise investor never had that kind of perspective. Why would you put everything in one basket? Yes, for me bitcoin is something else but it doesnt mean I will risk it all in it.
Where are you from? I mean what country? Look, if you are having doubts, them put it in different baskets. Do not just put everything with one and be scared the rest of your life. It is not supposed to be like that.

when they say don't put all your basket in one egg it also means set aside something that you can work around with the government. don't just distribute your wealth to cryptocurrencies. cracking down bitcoin will take a lot of years for them before they give up. for the mean time you can be assure your btc in your wallet is safe and when time comes you are prepared when BTC finally arise. you can move to another country though, there are countries that are open to crypto

People.... Let me break it down for you. As I read through all these comments, I realize that most of you are not worried about the governments or see them as a big threat. I find this very disturbing. Yea Bitcoin/Cryptos are decentralized but that does not mean its immune to everything. There are plenty ways to skin a cat. Listen, The governments DON'T like Bitcoin/Cryptos, It poses a big threat in many ways because they are quite happy and comfortable with the current system they got going on.... They can always print or loan out imaginary money which is backed by nothing, they can spy and trace all your funds/movements, they can freeze all your assets because the banks are centralized and will do what the government says. They can say Bitcoin is like the dark web where criminals roam and buy illegal stuff, bitcoin funds terrorism and money laundering, bitcoin is good for tax evaders and crooks that want to hide/move large sums of money. Governments love to have visibility and control, quite frankly, Bitcoin does not give them that. As we speak, they are already taking the necessary steps to kill bitcoin. I am witnessing this first hand while living in different countries. They are blocking crypto websites. They wont outright forwrd you to a screen saying that the website is blocked, you will just notice that the site wont load. They blocking almost everything crypto on government computers... Facebook ADs are making it very difficult to place any ads related to Cryptocurrency. They are getting disproved and saying you need special approval to play an ad in that category.n They are cracking down on online crypto wallets to block/ban users that use they bitcoins/cryptos to play on/transfer funds to and from Gambling sites. The list goes on and on..
