Financial support isn't enough. You must also have a good team that updates your peers every now and then, else your project will not get enough attention from the masses and might get foiled easily. The competition for the altcoin markets is always cut-throat, and even if you have loads of budget for your project, if it's not used correctly into something that really matters then it's a dire effort plus wasted money.

Usually a project that gains much exposure and positive reception are those who are good in marketing plus innovative features of the project. You don't necessarily need to have bounty campaigns that pay top dollar, just enough things to get your word out and an approachable team for that matter.

Well, you're correct about the financial support. There were projects that seem to be good but lack of budget just to get into a better exchange so the ending was bad for them because they simply list their token into an unknown exchange.

Which make their projects look like useless as others. That's what most of the investors like today, getting involve to a reputable exchange and that will cost money for the developers.

people wanted them to put up buy walls to protect the IEO price, but miners are just dumping into it, ate it right up

yes I agree with you, funds are the most important. without financial support, it is difficult to be able to make a successful project. Conducting IEO in large exchanges, promotions & advertising, and to keep prices stable, all require funds. but unfortunately most of these startups don't have that, they only expect from the sale of tokens. whereas to make a successful token sale requires huge funds.

Isn't it those projects are entering the crypto market to raise funds? So how can they get financial support from the very beginning? So the first thing those ICO really need to do is to present a solid and tangible product to begin with so that investors are willing to give them financial support. The problem is that majority of the projects today are not unique and they are exact replica of products in the past that's why investors shunned them, worst they could be running a scam for all we know. And the timing as well, look at the current state of the market, long bearish trend. If I'm going to released an ICO, I going to wait till everything settles down or at least the market is beginning to have a bull run.

Your right it will be best if they don't have to worry about the financial support and the best way to obtain this is to gather as many partners that they can get. Partners are the most influential factors in every project so there is a big chance that it will succeed.

Honestly, how about an actual project? 99% of these "projects" or ICO's are just some idea a few people had and now they are trying to take a kong shot at it and if they fail at least they made some money. You need a team that tries and keeps trying. Teams now just give up and nothing ever becomes realized.

Financial support is just one aspect of the whole picture. Project need to give us something, people behind should stay focus on the goals and not to be greedy and just go and developed for the sake of money, because it is very easy for them to get a project running but to scam people in the end.

The more successful everything is, the more successful the project will be. There are factors that add value to the project such as being innovative, but it is not difficult to see the current situation. Money is really needed, and its role is very important to make ICO successful. It's just that ICO projects must require developers and teams who are competent in their fields. Project management is very important for managing and maximizing finance. The current case is more towards financial problems, because investors are also less interested in ICO.

I am assuming that by financial support you mean using them to listing fees, but you only need Binance and Bittrex for listing to be honest, and to get there is not about money, but about the quality of the developers and the team and the track record (that i am assuming you mean by technical support or i am gravely mistaken).
Most of the places offering listing fee are just on the top exchanges because their huge wash trading, and it's pointless to use any money for listing those.

But i haven't see grin for example done any marketing and it has done ok and is still has $22,350,562 marketcap.

The factor that will impact the market price is the hype.
If many people talk about it and people hunt the tokens like crazy i'm sure the project tokens will be ended expensive in the market. So it's a task for the project marketing to make hype to the community

They should not rely anymore with the offering of different individuals. It wont be enough to surpass the soft cap of their funding.
One necessity is to find one large investor and push them to buy tokens or just be an investor offering him percentage of what they will profit for a long time.
More like a shareholder.

The points mentioned like technical support, good marketing and financial backup are all required for a successful project, but all these will be a waste of time  if the team doesn't have the right strategies and vision to achieve the project aim. I also see these *good concept* projects that look very complete, but I learned to be careful about them, as work maps and developers can be fake. This is a good reason why they aren't promising...
I think two main success factors of a project are: financial factor, of course, without money you can't make a decent advertisement or develop a decent project and the second and most important factor is the technlogy behind it that must be something unprecedented, otherwise it will be just another bitcoin or ethereum copy.

But in most cases the problem occurs if the users or already experience what the product could do, if they see it is not fulfilling its goal, then they will not pursue it any more. Just like in most of the cryptocurrencies right now, we need to always to consider not just the marketing but also the beta testing of a particular project.

I find natural that even if a project is good other developers are going to try to create a competitor if it has not gained huge adoption, in fact that is what it is happening with bitcoin, so far only a few million of people are using bitcoin at all, and while that is a great step compared to the number of people that used bitcoin five years ago the door is still open for any coin that is any good to surpass it.

The problem is that all of those other coins do not really have any kind of original ideas in order to succeed in their mission and it is why the bitcoin dominance keeps growing even if it's price is going down.
