So I just tried creating a wallet with this app, and it says "Creating Wallet" for an hour now. Does it normally take this long, or did I screw something up?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You'll be better off contacting their support. They have a very, very complicated system when it comes to wallets. Furthermore, if I recall correctly, BitPay is more of a payment gateway rather than a wallet. If you are planning to use it as your main Bitcoin wallet, I'd suggest you check out Electrum or Bitcoin-qt itself.

This. BitPay is definitely not the best option when choosing a wallet.

Assuming you're using a mobile phone, check out my personal picks instead:

I am using their payment processing services however never used them for anything else like wallet etc. With their servies so far I am satisfied I can say. You are better off to use offline wallet though, just what I think. Good thing about them is that they claim not to have access to your private keys, so you alone are responsible for your keys.

What version did you use and was it IOS or Android? I have same problem but no support...

If I dont reply to your PM means I dont want to have you send me more PMs

Yep, according to this link they do sanctioned up several countries: https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000123366-Why-can-t-I-use-BitPay-s-services-in-my-country-

Ive seen that op already chosen up some wallets to be used so i do suggest to lock up this thread to prevent unnecessary replies.

I can confirm that it's because of the restrictions they applied to some countries. A simple workaround would be to use a VPN (I've reproduced the problem and it worked). The VPN should be running all the time and only during the process of creating the wallet otherwise you'll have an error:

And also some missing functionalities.
