I imagine if any of those sold for those inflated prices, they’d be returned shortly thereafter causing headaches for everyone involved.

simply put, eBay allows a seller to list items as "not returnable" - then the only issue that can cause a return and subsequent refund is if the item does not work as specified. So, all they need to do is supply a miner that functions as it should - then the price does not matter as the buyer cannot return it simply because they do not like the price.

Buyers claiming a malfunction always receive the benefit of the doubt from PayPal/eBay regardless of what the seller says beforehand.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

true - I did not think of that but if funds are released upon delivery - they are only held by PayPal until delivery - the seller can simply remove the funds from PayPal - unlink their banking info from the PayPal account and walk away. Then there are no funds to return to the buyer.

Buyer protection is huge.  I sold one gpu on ebay and it all went smooth, then the inevitable "unit didnt work" claim came in months later.  It was sealed in the box brand new and PayPal still sided with them.  Ebay is a joke.  Those prices are usually a ruse
It goes like this.  Set up a price for one @ $2k then set up another at $1k and make that look like a bargain.  It's a buy trap.  Steer clear if ebay and you will be good

Oh, I buy from eBay quite often - but I always do my own research before purchasing. As for selling - I have sold iPads, PC's, Laptops, Cameras, Miners etc - and have had zero returns and zero issues.

There was only one where the person who bought my scrypt miners could not get them working at first, but that was eventually resolved - If I recall, he just need to reset the pool information. The BWL21's were finicky at best and would not always save the information in the UI.

You are one of the lucky sellers than.  I know too many peoe that have sold on Ebay only to have people mine, then months later claim it was broken when they recieved it.  I guess as a buyer not a big issue since you have that protection but still, you are bound to pay higher prices because you have the ebay fees sellers have to account for.  The high prices is nothing new to ebay though, people do it hoping to get a lucky hit.  Waste of internet space usually though.

I don't charge extra for the fees - unlike most, I accept the fees as the cost of doing business - without the services for which I have to pay fees for, I would not have the sales to begin with.

I completely detest companies that charge stuff like credit card processing fees to customers and things such as that. Again, I see it as the cost of doing business.

I'm not really talking about credit cards fees or any of that wonky stuff.  People try to bake in the cost of the 10% ebay fees into either the sales price or the shipping as a way to recoup the fee from paypal and/or ebay.  Either way those miners wont sell at those crazy prices they are just click bait hoping they get someone dumb enough to actually pay those prices.

I understood that - and my point was that is the same thing in my opinion. and I understand that they are click bait - what amazes me is the prospect that even one of them might get someone ignorant to pay that much to begin with. lol

Ebay never fails to deliver on the dimwit front. On UK Ebay people sell Euros and Dollars for considerably above what you will pay even at the airport yet people seem to pay it, the prices never come near the market rates.

It only takes one buyer stupid enough and you've doubled or tripled your money on one of these. Many a seller will try it on and many a buyer will deliver.

I'd be interested to know what the moan/chargeback rates are but perhaps buyers remain stupid enough to not realise they've been raped. It's not the type of thing you'll find unless you can be bothered to look pretty hard and many people can't be arsed to step outside their usual channels.

and these posts.... I see dozens of them each week many times the same user - eBay policy strictly prohibits this and states they sanction/ban the sellers but I still see the same guys over and over.

so just cruising ebay last night and saw an auction for 4 s9i miners,  current bid was at 227 +65 shipping  = qty 4 , s9i units  no power supply

so i thought why not, but it must have an auto bid that would be prob 340 + auto bid that would have made them still a nice 100 $ per unit,

still not a bad price, even with 7c power they still make about 30$ a month x 4 =120$  so they will help pay the power bill for the s17pro's

so i bid 295 to see what would happen , i bid at 18 seconds left,  and got them all in 315 for 4 s9i miners , no psu, but i have one of the ibm server

core power supply's that does 2 units and 1 spare apw++ i can use ,   i just cant stop buying these things

if anyone wants to buy one ill let it go for 115-120 no psu, i just need the 3  , shipped to usa only , ill do escrow through

philipma1957 or Stryfe ,
