I am assuming I want to invest in bitcoin. I will search for more information on where I can get bitcoin, and I will use the search engine to find the way. I am sure that I can find a local place which I can directly buy bitcoin. It will depend on where I lived, so I don't have to get confused if something happens.

There is a place for people to buy bitcoin directly, and that place is localbitcoin, which that person can meet a local seller who may be near his city. So that will cut off his time to send the money to get money.

I recommend that you firstly do invest your time for understanding cryptocurrency and do not stop to learn then if you think that you have enough knowledge then you can invest in a right way because it is not good for making decision based on the opinion of others.  Just ask their experience but don't ask what you are going to do.

It's not for long that they will only invest in bitcoin, it's also good to try investing try crypto simulators, there are demo accounts in exchanges where you can do trial trading or simply search and download at crypto trading simulator while you're holding BTC so you can trade other alts maybe those top 10 when you have extra for trade.

ICO's is like investing in crypto, but its actually not at all. Its investing in people idea about crypto.

You sounds like you want to invest in crypto, not in Bitcoin at all. Well going back the qustion, the best place to start is through trading first for a reason. The reason is that even though you're investor in crypto, you'll need to at least understand hoe to buy and sell a certain altcoin. Once you are able to manage that, you can now look for best investment platform such as mining (through POW or POS), Masternodes, Gambling Bankroll, and etc. Never go for ROI programs and avoid ICO/IEO since they are too risky.

Think the best way is to educate yourself first. There's to many FOMO people around just wanting to buy that BTC and then boasting about it. If you think of it as a longterm investment then just buy btc, if you plan to day-trade then find some education site like CryptoSchool, Newscrypto etc.

You can start on Coinbase as it is very friendly. You can deposit Fiat there and purchase BTC. From there you can send your Bitcoins to numerous exchanges and have fun with trading. Although you should read crypto school or watch a few videos on youtubu (How to trade) before investing huge amounts of money.
