Advice on online shop selling goods in crypto: real or scam?

I just found this online shop: https://www.cryptoemporium.eu/.

They claim to sell luxury goods and services like cars, watches, real estate...

Does anyone know them? Is it "safe"?

The website seems to be not so much popular. If i were you i wouldn't risk my money in there.
Domain information is also hidden: https://www.whois.com/whois/cryptoemporium.eu

Images on the website look so generic and just seem to have been copied from different location on the internet which seems so shady for me.
The reviews on the website too look made up and fake.

Please just stay away to be safe.

Thank you for your answer. Indeed, this site looks shady for me. Some of the blog posts are not even written in proper english ("Vivamus maximus leo vitae" latin text).

I was curious since I placed an order on another website named https://shoppycoin.com for a phone and all went well. I guess all sites are not worthy trust.

Trust Pilot has 39 reviews, out of 100, 56% is good and 44% bad. The bad rate is too high and it's a no for me.

WhoisGuard should not be considered as a measure to label a platform as good or bad because WhoisGuard is used to protect spams from telemarketers afaik. I have 9 domains and I use WhoisGuard in all and my hosting service provider gives me for free. Once I started to get spammy emails for an hour even my WhoisGuard was active and then I contacted the support of my hosting company for an explanation and they couldn't answer. But after 1 hour if I remember correctly it was back to normal.

I vouch for this website. The only problem was the goods available there is very limited compared to other online shopping store like Amazon and Ebay. I'm still not comfortable to used crypto as payment in buying online goods because it has no refund feature unlike Paypal and other payment method. I usually convert my BTC to Paypal then buy goods online. Using paypal on buying is less hassle and risk free because you can dispute payment if ever somethings wrong about the goods that you bought.

Looks like the positive reviews are one made to balance out the bad ones. Just take a look at all of the positive ones, most of them have a single review (that site), whilst the negative reviews looks like they are talking about Crypto Emporium being an old exchange and scamming an old community coin for 0.5 BTC. Possible old exchange turned into scam marketplace?

Yep, I agree. A lot of people keep these hidden just for better privacy, nothing wrong with keeping your private emails and names safe .

It was among the list of shops that accept crypto. Another shop I am considering using again is shoppycoin.com. I already bought once and the phone was delivered to me in less than a week. No problem at all. But still, I am always looking for feedbacks before i order again:)

There are other popular sites out there that sells the same item and accepts Bitcoin. If I we're you I will look for a site that is operating within your country. The site located in Italy, they published their address and gave a phone number where to reach them. If you are not from Italy, you will have a hard time reaching out to them for any complaints or in case you want to return an item. What bothers me is that they sell cars and motor bikes and they claim they can ship in 30 days world wide. We all know that we need to pay custom taxes, tariffs and duties for items like that or else it will be confiscated by the customs.

OpenBazaar isn't a plain website natively. It requires you to download and install software in order to actually use it.

I'm pretty sure that even if people land on OpenBazaar's site (which is very doubtful to begin with as their SEO is piss poor), they will close the site because they have no interest in downloading and installing software. They might even think it's a fake site because who needs to download software to visit a market place site? 

It's sad to see how OpenBazaar doesn't get the credit it deserves, but there is no demand for it, nor do people understand the working of it.

Aside from that, if you can really afford to buy luxury goods, buy it from known distributors. If it is an online shop, you really can't trust them fully especially if you have no prior experience. Unless, you have someone to check the legitimacy of that shop. With regards to this cryptoemporium, it says it is located in Italy. If you know someone who is located near this place, you can ask help to verify its actual existence and actual services. And if you can really afford to travel, you can do it by yourself. You're buying luxury items so I guess you can very well afford to travel. 



Though the site is boasting a lot of good words from its clients, you can never tell its authenticity.

Yes same here. I had a look and the fact to have to download an application is a huge stop in the application adoption.

If you aren't interested in downloading OpenBazaar on your desktop you do still have two options! 1) you can browse the marketplace to at least see what is available using openbazaar.com and 2) If you are more comfortable downloading apps on your mobile device you can check out Haven which is a mobile client that runs the OpenBazaar network. Check it out at gethaven.app.

Just like others have said, the best way is to stay away from the sites that you cannot get a clear cut review on its activities or its clients on their client service. There is nothing you want to get on that platform that you cannot get else where except you might be expecting them not to ask some specific questions which in this case they don't do to a random customer on the internet. If there is anything you want to buy, you can as well change your crypto to cash and get it and save yourself from any form of heartbreak that could come from transacting with these people.

When someone launches so serious business like selling luxury, cars, real estate and etc, minimum it has to be promoted AF, usually this is done in 99% cases to grow knowledge about your website among people and to gain attention in overall which automatically leads to more attention from another news websites. About this website, I can't find anything exciting.
I don't say that they are scams, idk and can't judge them blindly but personally I wouldn't risk. It's super easy to exchange bitcoin into usd and then buy anything you wish from trustworthy websites, why to add another headache?

So you do basically telling that you wont make any conversions so avoid that tax perspective of yours? Of course you would need to declare specially if you do live
in a country which is really strict when it comes to tax matters.

On topic, hard part on telling the legitimacy of a certain online shop yet we know that feedbacks can be fake out possibly unless if you do see some considerable or huge numbers then it might be but for a service which havent been known yet then i would always have the doubts.
