There's a difference between having your information sold for marketing purposes and them fully having access to your whole pc so they can steal funds. I have no doubt that whether you use Facebook or not, the CIA could steal your Bitcoins out of your wallet if they really wanted. Look, I'm not a fan of Facebook in any way, but they're not going to be stealing your coins anytime soon. However, the thought of them having their own currency with the privacy concerns they have now is laughable.

I'd like to see a reference link that supports this, tho I would not doubt it at all.  If local law enforcement investigates people's facebook posts and so forth, what makes you think organizations like the CIA wouldn't?  Of course they do.  It's only the extent to which they do it that I wonder about and whether facebook is completely in bed with these alphabet agencies.

Tho I realize how popular facebook and other social media sites are, I still have to say that one would be stupid to use them for posting personal info on.  They can do whatever they like with that info and you better believe it's going to end up in the hands of the gov't if you fly onto their radar.  I fear for the younger generation who has grown up using these sites and trust them and don't realize the danger.

You mean, we need not to disclose some of our privacy in facebook? If they doesn't care the privacy that we had, what's the purpose of their security access protection? and other ways of log-in like the google authentication option prior access to our account.
I wondered why these agencies will going to track us, since I am not linked with any crimes or whatsoever. Those individuals that has been target for this was only for a case to case basis, and as per understanding you're not subjected to tracking if you're not a target for government's scrutiny process.
Good thing this idea and warnings came up here, it really helped us be aware of what possible situation that facebook will be used for particular on some serious situation like what has been said.

It's no secret that such a large database as Facebook must be controlled by government services. No one will allow such a huge database to be in private hands and be completely uncontrolled.

Not affected. For someone who only uses Facebook to look at memes and keep myself updated with current events and entertainment, I'm not really into putting any important information to worry about my safety.
