In my opinion almost all platforms on the internet are not safe, so it's not just Facebook that sells data. As long as we are online
there must be someone who can monitor our activities, so if you enter data online we have to filter which ones really privacy do not
need to be listed all. So my advice is as minimal as possible we are open in the online world. For example like filling in the profile on
facebook, don't put all the real ones we include. This indeed the negative effects of the online world. Because every thing is positive
and negative as well as the internet and online world.

Despite the warning and all, people are still using facebook. So, I don't see any differences between before and after knowing that kind of warning.
I believe this was the scandal months ago. iirc. But nothing's changed now. It would be good if you provide us with the source regarding that CIA thing you talked about.

As a matter of fact, eveything on internet that you've gave your personal informations are not safe either.

A possible crimes can be committed for people who post to much in social media platforms since they can easily be track down especially if they publicly posted their wealth and other important  information and it's advisable to anyone on not to post to much about ourselves, where we are and things we do since it can compromise us and we doesn't  know on what's running on the minds of those who watch us everyday.

Too late to warn people because billions of people already using this platform but I’m sure not just bitcoin even google are spreading our information so we are no longer safe online. If you want to be secured then you should protect yourself manually and if you have cryptocurrency hard wallet is the best. Online security is the most questionable nowadays, its hard to trust someone online.
Actually, anything you do online is no longer private no matter what platform it is since we are all connected to the internet and someone must also have the control upon it in which you can't control if that person or company decides to sell your data or information. We must accept that is the reality and we shouldn't take it too seriously since government is not stopping to watch this kind of act.

Actually not all but the majority of social media platform are prone to leak of privacy because we can't control who will access our data. The best solution is to limit the information
that you will input on your social media account. Many of us use social media platform as diary or log book of our daily activities which can be used by criminals to plan something bad to us.
There is some social media app that offers a secured and private connection. The problem is how you will let your friends use that platform so that they can chat and connect you there.

Preventing yourself to post important details regarding to your real identity can make you stay safe from this concern. Make sure that you know your limitations in terms of posting things around facebook. We can't be assured that this information can be for real but is more better to act accordingly than feel sorry when sudden things appeared and happened to your account,. Be very vigilant what's around you and keep you and your family safe as always.

Beware! You are not safe if you are using facebook

because facebook is a network which is managed by CIA, and not only CIA, there are many more agencies those are tracking you, including all of your activities, and furthermore, facebook does not care about your privacy, last year, facebook sold 250+ million users data.
Yes, that's why when we just mention something on Messenger or talk to friends, there will immediately be ads about that product on your newfeeds.
But now Facebook has more than 2 billion users and we can't really live without it. But our information sale also makes a good service for us to buy the product we want. what do you think?

Facebook is stealing a lot of user information but it doesn't pay for it. This is really unfair to the user and all the data is exploited by Facebook.
Should we use a new social network? Is Twitter or Snapchat safe?
I was quite confused about using the new social networking site. Can someone give me a suggestion? thanks.

Mark Zuckerberg even mentioned that in the technogy developed era we may not expect our privacy 100% so everyone using smartphones are tracked or capable of doing from somewhere and facebook has no exceptions for it.But saying it was used by CIA proves nothing if there is no evidence to prove it.

There is no safe data on Facebook. because most users are fake too. what I mean is that one person has more than one account. Has Facebook ever been serious about user data? I do not think so. I personally have never uploaded my ID on Facebook. because when I'm blocked, I can register again without ID and KYC.

They were involved in some manipulations with people's personal info, they even pay a couple billion dollars for that. Long story short, people still use Facebook, nobody needs to steal anything, people are sharing everything about them with their own free will.
And after everything they did and what they do, now they are planning to make Libra coin. When I read about that coin I wonder who will own it and who will buy it?

First, Google and other email services, then Facebook and that will continue to other websites which will do the same. They need us to complete the verification so they can have our document. I think we can avoid using facebook if we want, but unfortunately, Facebook become larger, and they reach all people from all over the world. Many people already use Facebook to connect with other people. But we can decide what we want to use while we connect to the internet because we responsible for our security, including to share our document.

Intellectual people knew it once you expose your important information in the internet consider yourself as a susceptible victim to any kinds of cyber crimes. Including being hacked whether your social media account, email account, and cryptocurrency and btc wallets. They are all not safe in the internet. Best thing to do when storing your crypto funds is through offline wallet and never store your private keys inside the social media like Facebook.

I think so much information like this has been circulating like "Facebook sells data" or other things. the most important thing is, almost everyone has facebook, and they always upload photos, and other things about their privacy. I think Facebook already has so much money because of this. other than that, Facebook also doesn't force you to provide specific data about what you're working on right now. and other important things, I'm just confused what is the relationship between Facebook and trading? does this have to do with Libra  Huh  if it's like that, then don't ever shop online on facebook in the future, because they can track your place  Roll Eyes

Someone may be wondering what style of clothing I prefer or whether I use swear words in my speech? If so, then I don't care, let them use this data. An ordinary law-abiding citizen should not be afraid of any surveillance of his account. Complete nonsense.

Just don't put alot in social media, I prefer to read and chat only in social but not to tell information about me. Posting and putting a lot of your details can really harm us. It's no wonder that facebook suggest some ads related to what I just research in google recently so it's really connected in many apps. Don't send your private notes thru social media it's much better to use email. I don't use social media for crypto realated as it can easily be hacked by anyone and been into news of how many users got problem in it.

We are already exposed unless you change you identity or pretend to be dead and get another one. Maybe the ones you should warn first are the people who never used facebook in their entire life or never had engage were identity and private documents are needed. They are maybe old folks or the some children who might actually make an account on facebook, but I guess your warning will not reach them first as facebook and other apps are famous and known than bitcointalk.

It ain't new anymore.
That is why I envy those people who haven't even tried to sign up with that social media network.
I hope I did too.

Somehow I can control how much I use that application, mostly it is just for advertisement and updates on necessary groups.
But if you could really not rely on it then it would be better.
There is a catch though, be anonymous. Do not fill up everything with your real name and dont upload photos of you.
I just hope they dont block your account.

I'm aware of this, that is why I seldom post all my pictures on Facebook and only use it to get news from pages that I liked, but there's a lot of benefits too like you can connect to all your relatives abroad, one big issue is the many fake news on facebook that if you are not aware of it you will be lost.

Honestly, privacy is an individualized thing. If you truly wanted to remain private, you would throw your phone and computer out the window, The fact is millions and billions will continue to use Facebook, but maybe a bit of privacy education would help. You can use Facebook and not also leak your nude pictures online. Everyone has a different threat model, so posting this "uninstall Facebook" stuff everyday doesn't help when it's considered necessary to interact with friends and family. Instead, we should be teaching friends and family how to use certain privacy settings to better protect themselves.

After all i haven't heard of any of my friends or family quitting Facebook. Some never had an account, mostly because their spouse does and they get news through that. Some mostly lurk, don't post much. Haven't heard any of them expressing big concerns about FB privacy. I think that (like me) they assume anything they post will not be private.

I have been using Facebook for 10 years and I guess our information and activities would only be at risk if we don't know how to put limits especially in sharing our personal stuff. Linking our wallets in our facebook messenger will also be a big risk. Everything depends on how we use it. It still depends on how we handle our accounts.
