The CoinEx website has recently gone black. Now the Twitter account is erased? Did we get Goxed?

Without further communication, it looks like they took the coin deposited there and ran. If it was legit, wouldn't there have been an update in 24 hours?

There are too many fly-by-night operations in the crypto-currency community. Who can we trust?

Coinbase, Mcxnow, and your own wallet. Mintpal looks strong but it will probably get hacked tomorrow.

It's funny because the exchanges with the nicer frontends are the ones that end up getting hacked...the ones with the crappier frontend however...well only time will tell.

While I always hated their java script laden site, I did have faith in them as being mostly grounded with a good future. I hesitate to say speculation, because that could be said, but the investigation and results are solid. So yeah, they either got hit big time or it was an inside job (though being entirely JS based, hacking is a real possibility). Either way, it "seems" like they are trying to just run away and wash their hands of it.

Nobody is getting hacked. Some exchanges are a front to steal bitcoins. The owners simply TAKE the coins and walk away, they don't even have to run.

I looked into dogechain.info and noticed my doge coins from the coinex deposit were transferred to a millions sized wallet. At a date/time the coinex site was already closed. The status is 'not yet redeemed'. Will that mean that a) the dogecoin fork stopped the robbery/repair? b) there is any chance my coins are still there c) can I withdraw without coinex getting back online..

What a waste of time... coins down the drain and we seriously expect the 'mainstream' to accept this?
Ok, we are in the 'pioneer' days of crypto-evolution but how many times is this going to happen?
For my part I am trying to keep the faith and patiently hope that Coinex will rise again - naive?

I've been scammed there before for coins. Systemglitches caused coins to disappear and support (erundook) just told me they were not there anymore and he could do nothing about it. I left back then.
