I have not that much experience with KYC/AML procedures and I would like to know something... If I want to use an exchange for example, but I'm from an unsupported country, but at the same time, I have a student visa or work permit for a country that the exchange support. Would that allow me to go through the KYC process or I must be a citizen in that country?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

That falls into a grey area.
- I had a similar case [to an extent] while dealing with multiple banks for the past year [I relocated to another country earlier this year but decided to just come back, not worth the hassle] and I'm guessing, same applies to most exchanges.
  • I had multiple valid ID's + having its citizenship [dual citizen] and yet they denied me because my birthplace was among the list of unsupported countries.

In other words, most likely you won't be able to pass the KYC/AML part.

It's difficult to answer your question without personal experience. But I doubt that you will be able to pass KYC. Usually only passport and ID card (sometimes driving license) is eligible documents for KYC procedure. As said above, visa falls into grey area.
Also, visa allows you to live/work/study in certain country only for temporary time. Visa don't make you into citizen of eligible country, so I think you can't pass KYC with it. After your visa will expire and you'll return to your original country, you won't be allowed exchange, so I don't see how they can verify you.

From my experience on exchanges, the obvious answer would be No, as all the exchange I have traded on both locally and internationally, none had Visa as an acceptable document for their KYC/AML procedure. Just as @LTU_btc has highlighted, Visa has many disadvantage/limitation and won't be the idea document for any organization to accept if they're trying to complain with the KYC requirements. A photo ID is the most common proof of identification and this can be done with any of the below National ID, Student ID, passport, drivers license etc.
