A proposal for a new blockchain-agnostic payment protocol:

https://cypherpunk.org/2019/11/10/towards-a-singular-payment-protocol/

Includes the following characteristics:

- can be used with crypto or fiat currencies
- multiple currency options for a single transaction
- multiple payments in a single transaction
- allow a payment in one currency, but the value to be referenced from a second currency
- fee payment by sender or recipient
- calculation of valuation and fees through common trusted third parties

Looking for input from wallet developers. Thank you.

Thank you. Sure, that’s always a risk, but the idea is that there are already a dozen standards which are preventing any from being well supported. I actually doubt any standard, even BIP-21, is fully supported on any wallet. Taking the best parts of what exists and agreeing to push one standard would allow wallet developers to focus on one standard and not try to keep up with a dozen. This would take some humility on the part of some core developers among different blockchains, but it would be for the good of all in the end.

I like the idea and the author made good reseaarch. But IMO this scenario might happen :
