Simple question.  I would love to go to CoinMarketCap.com and have the default currency be BTC instead of USD.
Is this possible?

As an user mentioned it is possible to have USD to be defaulted. As it is preference based feature we the users are supposed to change on necessity. Right now users find it difficult to calculate price of different altcoins in terms of bitcoin. Maybe when there is large scale adoption of bitcoin all over the world coinmarketcap itself will come up with bitcoin as reference.

CMC is the industry goto, but its so 2016 Tongue they should have evolved like everything else in this scene imo

this option used to be possible on their website which was a great thing because everyone wants to see the prices in bitcoin as majority of those who enter altcoin market are entering with their bitcoins and would like to see how much they have lost or possibly earned on what they have invested.
you simply had to add a "#BTC" at the end of the link to get it by default, my bookmark is even set to that but they changed it back in 2017 as a manipulation of the market to prevent people from seeing the real dumps.

Yes, very possible. As you can see on the image below:

You have to click that option of USD and replace it with BTC but this won't be on permanent. Once you close the tab, it will automatically go back to USD so you just have to click it again so that it will be set to BTC again.

Traders looking for profits so they will calculate everything in fiat value that is why CMC still have the values based on dollars in default but you are not limited to change the values as above post mentioned, will not be a huge work for you to do this. Cheesy

I am not sure why you are looking for BTC value, there are other sites have this feature but not available in CMC.

This post does hit the spot. Sorry pal, i dont have enough smerits to merit this up.
Also you can toggle it up between USD-BTC-ETH-XRP-BCH-LTC but as said this is on USD default so you would need change it.

When you clicked a particular coin it do already had USD and BTC value on equivalent.

Might be he's more comfortable in calculating his profit in bitcoin?
Well anyway, still don't get the point of setting it on bitcoin default. He seems to like things in hard way.

Or OP can reconsider using blockfolio and just click the digits on main portfolio so you can have bitcoin on default. See the image below.

You have to change it yourself like @passwordnow suggested. Just two extra clicks from your side. They dont have any specific URL for that button as well, it in the UI of the page.

If you dont like them having the default option to USD then use some other site to keep track of prices or develop your own API to get the prices on your excel sheet, if you making a portfolio that is.
