In as much as we want full adoption for blockchain and cryptocurrency the truth is that most crypto project do not have real life usecase but rather most are just based on whitepaper theory.  And with this getting massive adoption of blockchain technology might take longer than expected,  only few project can boast of real usecase project like Anyone casino,  its a blockchain project for casino and presently some offline casino platform in asia are already using the platform which is a welcome development for blockchain as a whole,  if many project can bring real usecase to this space then we can get more closer to adoption

Talking about coins/tokens with practical usecases without adding ETH and ATOM makes this thread incomplete. We have seen how many useful dApps on the ETH and ATOM blockchain, be reminded that they pay ETH and ATOM to create this DApps. So I think they have a practical use case. Also some real life entities and companies have started accepting Bitcoin and ETH as means of payments. With time, more tokens will have more practical usefulness.

ETH, Monero, Siacoin, IOTA, Golem, ripple are some of the well known coins which have a practical use. PERL coin came up with a good practice, the coin became opacity coin. What are the remaining alt-coins which have practical usage?
Looks you were inspired by this article: https://coinsutra.com/cryptocurrencies-practical-usecases/ However, this article has not been updated since 2018.
I think we can add neo, dash, xlm and most of the top 50 altcoins to this list, not just these six altcoins.

I wonder how you define "practical use" here Smiley Utility tokens with some kind of working product? Or just some useful coins without any strict conditions? Most of the coins claim their practical use in WP Smiley

Depending on the definition of 'practical use', we can say most top 100 coins at least have a practical use... or pretty much none of them do.

To me, practical use means a real-world use in effect today. And it doesn't mean exchange tokens or the fact folks can buy some random things using LTC from some oddball site, when fiat would make more sense. There are some reward programs (IOTA, BAT), that I suppose would qualify, but they aren't exactly world-shattering usage examples. Tracking items is another use, but again, it's a pretty dinky use.

Cryptos used in 3rd world countries with hyperinflation could be considered a use. But that's hardly limited to alts, btc I expect would be the main coin used. Actually a stablecoin would make the most logical choice, but not sure if any have really caught on for that purpose.

MONERO should be on the list.

Monero is a secure, private and untraceable currency. This open-source cryptocurrency was launched in April 2014 and soon spiked great interest among the cryptography community and enthusiasts. The development of this cryptocurrency is completely donation-based and community-driven. Monero has been launched with a strong focus on decentralization and scalability, and it enables complete privacy by using a special technique called “ring signatures.”

With this technique, there appears a group of cryptographic signatures including at least one real participant, but since they all appear valid, the real one cannot be isolated. Because of exceptional security mechanisms like this, monero has developed something of an unsavory reputation; it has been linked to criminal operations around the world. Nonetheless, whether it is used for good or ill, there’s no denying that monero has introduced important technological advances to the cryptocurrency space.

How about BNB?
If you are a trader in Binance that would be part of your practical usage.  Grin

I agree with ETH and XRP but the other I still dont have any idea. Perhaps I will be reading more about them later on.
ETH though I think have much usage ever since.
Low transaction fees and faster tx time. I really do prefer it than anything else.
Not only ethereum can boast such a track record. At a minimum, Stellar and Tomochain have even lower commissions and better speeds than ethereum.

It is quite very easy to find a coin with good use case, as a matter of fact, there are so many of them, but a lot of them are already dead. Perhaps because the team could not continue with the idea. They lost focus along the line. Some with wrong motives at the start of the project might still prove to you that they have a practical use case, meanwhile they are all shambles.

Never forget Dogecoin and Litecoin.

These coins are way better a payment if the fees are higher for the current altcoin that you use or even with bitcoin. There's also a contender in the name of Nano that has a fee less transaction. There's Dash which is the number 1 masternode coin and also Basic Attention Token which is the main coin of Braver browser.

I will go an extra mile. Why not use fee less coins then? Steem, eos, tron they offer free transactions albeit you have to lock some of your coins but they still remain in your custody.
Maybe you've missed the coin that I've mentioned about fee less transactions. AFAIK in Nano, you don't have to do some locking up just to be eligible for the fee less transactions.

But if those coins you have mentioned are also offering it, that's good to know that there are other coins doing this. We might see the revolution of new coins focusing in this area of having no pay per transaction.

There are quite some altcoins which do serve the purpose of the coin. Some coins like Ethereum can be used for in the creation of smart contracts whereas other coins like XMR can be used to make transactions which are private. Apart from these, I guess Dash is the only coin having a real world use case.

I've found Litecoin to be relatively practical for payments in the past few years that I've been using it. I keep it as part of my portfolio that I utilize when Bitcoin transaction fees become unusually high such as in late 2017 to early 2018, and it's accepted in plenty of places due to the coin being popular in the past, even more than some other coins like Ethereum in my experience. Definitely not the cheapest or fastest coin to use, but it does the job just fine. Litecoin also has a Lightning Network and it was implemented earlier than Bitcoin's, though I've found very few places accept Litecoin LN payments just like with BTC's.

There's a lot of them in the market, there are those who are still popular until now and there are those who are new but with great potential.
However for to minimize the risk of investing, I'm gonna focus on the old but reliable ones, I like to add litecoin and BNB because this weren't mentioned but they are very good investment in the altcoins section too.

Not only these, but there are many coins/tokens that are practically useful in today's market when you compare with a few years ago.
In fact, there are several projects that belong to one specialty. So the main issue now is how useful it is. For example, there are many gaming-related projects on the market, and is its usefulness the same as ETH? Absolutely not. ETH is almost like the market within the market.

Tokpie is a great example. It is backed by bounty hunters work and the conduct IEO on it and the projects are always quality since they have their reputation and value of the token to uphold.
You also get benefits for holding 10k-50k Tokpie tokens. Another one is Mediacoin, it is like BitTorrentToken but better. Also, peer2peer but uses its own app.

It's just a matter of looking for what you want or need and finding something as close to it as possible. Keep your eyes open for opportunity and never turn any opportunity down. The reward for very little risk os greater then any time you could ever spend playing video games watching movies or relaxing.

Ethereum is pretty all round and has the most developers building on top of it, the only downside I see here is the fact that there isn't much room to actually grow without any scaling improvements made.

It only requires one or two popular applications to clog up the network where people not aware will have to wait hours to see their transaction confirm, because that's the only way to actually interact with the applications.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

There are tons of altcoins that have a working product and a real use case. Unfortunately, the majority of currencies are still only air based tokens, but things are getting better, because nowadays  a product is required to raise a solid amount of funds.

I also vote for Dogecoin, Litecoin and Waves.
Although correctly said, there are other better suited coins for fast and low fee / 0-fee transactions, some still use Dogecoin just because almost all exchanges list it.
Litecoin (and sometimes Dogecoin) may still be used by some exchanges as the basis for exchange (instead of Bitcoin) for very small value coins, having LTC-WhateverCoin and no BTC-WhateverCoin.
Waves is a very easy and cheap platform for tokens and has a working DEX (and other features too). Although it's drowning under the huge number of useless tokens, it has its utility imho.

OP, maybe at some point you'll adapt the initial post and enhance the list?

Don't forget to add Stellar's (XLM), for more faster payment solution and lesser fees, also COTI for Universal Payment Solution, I think many more altcoins has also a practical use case its just need a little bit study for its primary function to determined if it was applicable with our own uses.

Why do you have to keep an eye on Decred (DCR)? does Decred have anything special in the real world? if yes,
please explain more fully so everyone can find out.
