Hello,
I know there have been several threads on posting images on Bitcointalk, but I think this one will help users trying to post specifically from ImgBB. I also know that in some of the past threads ImgBB was mentioned as well, besides others sites, but in this case there's a trick.
The solution is the following:1. First of all, you must be at least Jr. Member (Newbies are not allowed to post images).
2. Upload a photo on ImgBB (at "Auto delete image" field make sure it's selected "Don't autodelete").
3. After the picture is uploaded, a "Copy" button will be displayed (see picture below). Clock on it then paste the copied link in a new tab. However, this link is not functional on Bitcointalk.
Note the form of the link, in order to make the difference: "https://
ibb.co/somecharacters"
4. When the picture is displayed on the screen, right click on it and select "Copy image location". Paste in a new tab. At this moment, the given link will be different, appearing as "https://
i.ibb.co/somecharacters". Practically, the "normal" link looks like
https://ibb.co and the one needed here has the form of
https://i.ibb.co.
vs
See the differences?
6. After obtaining the "i.ibb.co" link, type it here in the following form: [ img ] i.ibb.co link [/img] (without any space between the characters). Or copy-paste the following code sequence:
[img][i.ibb.co link[/img]
Voila! The picture should be appearing in full format.
I hope this helps
January 2023 edit: I revamped this thread with cosmetic changes (formatting, eliminating obsolete information etc.) and also with a better solution for posting pictures on the forum. I Recently found a simpler solution, which eliminates steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 (yes, all these steps!
).
I found an "Imgur uploader" website which does all these steps: https://img.doerig.dev.
March 2023 edit: it seems that imgur.com does not allow uploading pictures from mobile phones anymore. Even before it was not so easy, meaning that, in order to upload a picture from mobile, you had to select to see the page in Desktop mode, but now this workaround does not work anymore.
I found though another way for being able to upload pictures on imgur: by accessing the .io version of the site (www.imgur.io) and selecting to see the page in Desktop mode, it's still possible to upload pictures from mobile phones.
October 2023 edit: imgur is not recommended anymore as a solution for uploading images on the forum, after
the recent problems generated by this website. As a consequence, I revamped OP once more, presenting a viable solution provided by ImgBB website.
I hope this help.
Besides, an alternative site is TalkImg. Pictures upload is possible from there as well, by following the guidelines mentioned
here.
