Bitcoin Cash Advocate Roger Ver Calls Veterans ‘Retired Hitmen’

November 11 was Veterans Day, a federal holiday that is observed annually in the United States to honor the veterans that served in the United States Armed Forces. Bitcoin Cash advocate and former Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver took the time that day to redefine the meaning of “veteran.”

Although Veterans Day is designed to commemorate the brave soldiers and other military personnel that risked their lives to protect the United States during the first world war, there are some individuals that believe that these veterans should be remembered differently.

Veteran hitmen? Hmmmm......

Do you guys think it’s an appropriate term for BCH and Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver to call the US veterans like this? I don’t know about your honest thoughts on this one. We know that these brave men and women are risking their lives for the country, and I salute them for that.

I’m not a US citizen, but I definitely have their respect for their service to the country. When it comes for the word “hitmen”, I have mixed reactions to that. But most of the time, calling you a “hitman” means an enemy or traitor.

first world war?

was america even under threat of invasion during the first word war? was it really 'defence' they were involved in
was america really at such a danger that the military was in 'defence' mode defending its border. or in 'offence' mode going into other countries borders

funny part is america was in the 'offence' mode when it went into the ottoman empires borders and started clashes there, which ripples into the anger, revenge resentment and holding a grudge that lead to the whole 'terrorist' attacks this millenia

but lets just be quiet about that and pretend america are peaceful and doing it all just as a 'defence' for its people.
much like lets avoid school shooters who terrorise kids being referred to as terrorists and just call them 'lone gunmen' just to avoid bad press.

i personally do praise veterans. not for their actions. but their bravery to risk their lives. even if the cause was unjust.

Of course they meddled even more in foreign affairs under the pretense of the cold war and "communist expansion", and by then it was already Department of Defense (against communism terrorism).

Personally, I would say retired hitmen is far too strong a term. Sure, they are often sanctioned to kill the enemy forces, but they are not paid to kill innocent people (most of the time).

Also, the punishment for not complying with orders was often harsh, whereas desertion was much worse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertion

A lot of people didn't agree with what they were doing, but had to continue for their own safety.
