Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I believe this is a problem for countries like mine, in my country the police have very limited resources, just for you to be aware the police in my country do not have adequate equipment, the police stations are very degraded and have no decent conditions, The salary is very low and the level of education is very low. It is a case to say that there is no very active e-crime fighting department with expert people. So you can already imagine that it will be complicated to go to complain to the police of my country

I can't say I understand the minds of the cops, but I'm sure they see bitcoin as something to be used in criminal activities because that's how they view the world.  Everyone they come in contact with is an actual or potential criminal and I have no doubt that most of them know about bitcoin and its links to drugs and other illegal things.

Who cares what the cops think, anyway?  Let them keep up their campaign of abuse and harassment and leave crypto alone.  Same thing for the politicians.

Well in my country i don't know the specific rules  about the use of cryptocurrencies or probably i am not aware of that there are even some made. But i know there are offices that are registered in the country where people purchase cryptocurrencies so definitely i guess the country welcomes the idea of making transactions with cryptocurrencies. The police would definitely know what to do once there is any fraud regarding cryptocurrencies.

The police are still late in this information, in my opinion there is limited information in the whole world, but in my country little is known about cryptocurrency, and not so much talk, the police have a small world and do no function. The media knows to write some things about bitcoin, but this does not upset the public, as they think that what they do not use has no problem with it.
I think my country's biggest problem is that the 2006 constitution is still in use, so things like bitcoin have not shaken the public to change the law.

well there are some cases involving crypto that turns to be a scam and the involved is now behind Bars, though here only few scams are at place because people are educated about scamming and they cannot be victimized that easy.

but what i believe is cyber crime here has only a little charge but large scale estafa is another story.so i can still say that we are luckier than yours OP.

I think all law enforcement even in which country they had different tasks. Probably that was part of cybercrimes and there are some of them have skills regarding internet transactions tracing. Some of them are highly trained when it comes to cyber related cases just like what happened last month. "Police arrest hundreds over international child sexual abuse website". Nevertheless, there's no need to inform law enforcement in our country, if the numbers of unsolved cases are regarding cybercrimes they will find ways just to solve or hire people who is highly skilled on cyber hacking and programmer.

That's terrible these cops are just bully, instead of going after the cheaters they are extorting money from miners who hardly makes any profit due to market situation and also I believe we should be keeping our mining rigs away from public view and try mining secretly. In my country police are least bothered about crypto and don't have much knowledge about it.

Awareness of the government leads to the awareness of the police but I don't think they know how to take legal actions when a certain crypto is used in illegal transactions. Our police here is nothing compared to those Indian police. Since cryptocurrency is not yet well known in our country, no policy or anything against it or regulating has been made yet. It might look great if police knows how to deal with scammers and fraud here so that we can reduce the number of them and lessen the unfortunate events and victims that are just trying to trade and invest peacefully in here.

Training the police isn't enough.
Police need to obey the law, and the laws aren't ready to deal with those scams and criminal activities related to cryptocurrencies yet.

More time is needed, and politicians and the society need to get involved in the construction of the legislation

Cops have different way of thinking and level of perception so if they think that it can be a good opportunity for them to get benefits then they will literally grab it without even thinking, too bad that some of them aren't able to suffer the consequences of their actions. I just hope that the cops in my country are not like that even though they don't have enough understanding about digital currency because we do have some laws and people have to act reasonably, I also think that they won't bother ruining their own reputation because of that.

Huge problem this is for my own country, they hardly have interest in new technology which i believe that is why my country is lacking behind big time, cops in my country are not techy either, indian police are way ahead of the police in my country

I don't think that the police has to or need to know what crypto is just because some people are stupid enough to get fouled by some online scam, the law does not protect the idiots, in my country the law knows about bitcoin and crypto because a lot of people have been caught buying and selling drugs and other illegal things through the dark net, and that has set a bad reputation for it here, and because of that many people who are using it for good reason have stopped promoting it and talking about it because they would be suspected with using it for illegal things.

We barely here Bitcoin in the news, it only appears on the news because of wanted scammers that have used bitcoin to scam people
so I guess bitcoin has a negative reputation to police and masses.

It is completely based on the government duties and I don't know what we can do that to make the police.

Many people and even police also doesn't know about cryptocurrency much. They simply knows that cryptos used in darkweb deals and black-market deals. Those things needs be broken and everyone should know about it.

In some countries police can't even track direct deposits and who thinks about bitcoin. The problem isn't privacy because any scam/fraud is punished but problem is that crypto is hard to track. Some governments become good at it recently, countries where there is crypto business which includes exchanges and etc. And in countries where crypto is rarely used, no one cares about scams, government only warns you to avoid websites which look like fraud.

That's the norm here as well, they loved extorting miners because, unlike the typical drug traffickers, they were mostly unarmed "nerds" with "too much money for their own good". Indeed later the government did some regulation and ordered to stop the seizing of equipment, but the way things works here, it is not very reassuring unless you somehow have very good ties with someone in power.

Justice here is more about who you are friends/related to, and little about whatever the actions and the written law say.

There is a place where you are supposed to get a mining equipment import license, and exchanges are also supposed to register there and obey their rules, which of course the cops know nothing about, but if their superiors tells them to stop they do it (their superiors also get a portion of the spoils, so the unregistered people are "free game"). Doesn't necessarily mean you get spared if you are registered...

In my country, crypto scams are not investigated as well. Unless you use governmental facilities to mine cryptos or abuse the rules of paying for electricity in other ways, nobody seems to care. And yes, this means that people get scammed, and scammers get away with it. So when it comes to law enforcement, cryptos are mainly known in the context of illegally using electricity to mine it. Ironically, there are some articles about the police being caught mining cryptos using state-owned stuff as well Cheesy Oh, and apart from that, I saw one official (published on a governmental website) article about developing policies specifically for cases when people are kidnapped and the kidnappers demand money in BTC.

The same with our police but there's a specific agency of authority that's tackling about these frauds online. They are the cyber police and they're more educated and informed than the other policemen because they're dealing with these kind of scam schemes.

It's a combination of an IT police officer and other professionals that are dealing with technology.

My country has been actively enforcing and busting these kinds of investment scams including crypto related ones and other cyber crimes that I believe our Police, together and in coordination with other law enforcement agencies are continuously training to acquire necessary knowledge and skills in order to be more effective in combating these types of crimes.

As of the current timeframe, my country's stand on cryptocurrency is somewhat neutral. I don't see a lot of news to cryptocurrencies, whether it be negative or positive. Few online payment companies continues to support transactions through Bitcoin without oppression by the government. Even though scams do exist, it's almost not happening here, or as far as I only know. I do hear some television shows mention cryptocurrency, but that's just it. Which all of it makes me quite happy, but further adoption is better.

Here in my country (in the Philippines), we do have some level of regulation and knowledge about cryptocurrency, in fact, there are news of police raiding some cryptocurrency scammers. Still, the amount of illegal activities here is not decreasing due to the fact that we are still lacking knowledge and equipment to track or raid this type of things. Though we are still positive about adopting cryptocurrency.

in my country too. the police are actively seeking and handling fake investments in crypto. although crypto is already registered in my country, it is very strict. all trades, transactions and investments must be reported to the country. so all can be watched. crypto in my country is as a commodity. not as a currency. so it's like gold, silver, oil etc. cannot be used for day-to-day transactions, but can be traded. if it violates the police will track and sanction.

Haven't heard of any such news. But it is true that we do have a cyber crime group which manages cyber related crime. But let's face it that our country is not that developed and not yet fully equipped to bust all illegal and fraudelnt acts done thru cyber space and even cryptocurreny related fraud.

The appearance of many wild Ponzi made our police focus on forming a division for white collar crime, but never touched the highest person because of the influence of the antibody position, this is still embarrassing. There has not been one case of crypto hyip that has become a serious case because the police only investigate complaints as if they only consider it a level 3 crime.

I heard somewhere that Bitcoin is ban in India ? If so, the police should be looking to find where it is being used and bust those people.
In most of the countries, the police is always after the crime and scams but it is difficult to track the scams done through crypto. Even, in New Zealand where the law and order situation is very good as compare to other countries, they are still unable to track the cryptopia exchange scammers, so this shows how difficult it is.

Honestly, with lots of crypto-related scams happen here in PH during the 2017 BTC hype, PH authorities including PNP and all other sectors are now well-aware of the idea of using cryptocurrency in scam activities. If you were able to read some news back then, there are lots of scam victims during the 2017 hype to the point that even media (watch "Failon Ngayon") shows a misleading impression and details about what Bitcoin is all about in a nationwide telecast that rage most of PH crypto enthusiast.

And now that BSP implements a much strict ruling about cryptocurrency in the country, surely they informed our authorities about the general and basic information of what crypto is all about.

Law enforcement in my country have specific specialized divisions that deals with economic and cyber crimes, so when you suspect a crime, you report it to them and they will investigate. When this crime involves something outside of our borders, these agencies work with other agencies from other countries to track and prosecute these operations.

The local police officer on the street does not have the specialized knowledge to identify these crimes, but they help with the arrest when these specialized units identified the criminals.

It is certainly encouraging for you that the police can help when there is fraud in crypto, not all countries can implement this.
in my country, crypto is not prohibited but may not be used as a legal payment instrument recognized by the state. and the government is not responsible if there are material losses that we experience, because of regulations that have not been made.

We do not have this kind in our country, but once a court issued an order or their is an order from higher authorities our police will follow orders, when it comes to issues, about Cryptocurrency we have a SEC here and a court for any illegal activities, Bitcoin is now popular here but majority of our police are more educated on illegal activities but not on Crypto.

As of now there is no big information provided to police regarding the cryptocurrency and the usage associated with it. There were more cases associated with the same, and in one of the case two police has been included. Myself has never encountered any issues with police officials, once bank officials made a strong investigation on the funds that has been received through selling bitcoin. For some reason I never disclosed the truth, and they even said they'll report this to the police for further investigation. Even then I was strong to defend it is my money. Somehow finally got it solved without big problems.

In the beginning, if we know from the start that our funds are real cryptocurrency from hard work and not by doing illegal stuff on the internet, there would be no reason how banks and police could accuse us of anything. Bitcoin and crypto are decentralized, but we still have a lot of ways to view transactions that we have and we have a lot of time to explain to them how bounty campaign, escrow, trading, and investment works. I promise you, they might be soon joining us to see how far we can get through cryptocurrency.

Detecting crypto scammer is hard in our country, some uses it for their own benefit and suse bitcoin as their medium of payment that makes bitcoin to others a scam, but what's good in our country is they allowing regulations and acceptance in some stores and bank the use of bitcoin, we can still consider ourselves lucky as no restrictions or banning happening unlike in other countries.

Bitcoin ponzi scheme or online investment scam can identified as cyber crimes so in my country there are special agents to handle this kind of case but regarding the method what they used to arrest the criminals or to trace it i think they never publish it to the public so if there are suspicious investment sites or related to it then people can report immediately to the police station with valid evidence and the police will handle it right away

More and more I would say. Police is aware of many frauds and money laundering connected with cryptocurrencies and they know they have to investigate it. Also, more and more people report crimes connected with crypto so they actually don't have the choice, they need to work on that and therefore educate themselves.

Haha, in my country there are almost no police with such awareness, even when my friend loses some money because of fraud, they just say "be more careful". The police in my country will move when handling big cases or cases investigated by their superiors. It would be great if there were police all over the world like the police in your country.

Until now, there is no law yet in my country talking about crypto scam. If there is a scammer in internet, the case would be in cybercrime law only.
I think this should be done also by every country so that scammers will be oriented of what they are doing to the community of crypto netizens specially traders and beginners.

My country recently busted a scam related to people selling crypto, which turned out to be of course a fake ring. A few years ago it was scams that actually sold like real coins and told people this was bitcoin haha. It doesn't help of course that online bitcoin images all show some kind of yellow gold coin.

I would say police in my country are not well informed but how can you blame them when they are busy with so many types of scams in technology?

In my country, I see many sites that are Bitcoin ponzi and scams.
Not just your country but every country. Also know this that 90% of the ongoing ponzis are run in fiat and not bitcoin. Bitcoin is just a new mode of getting that money. Ponzis existed since a long time with fiat money.

Quote
These thrive because the police put in little effort in tacking them.
Law enforcement is poor in many countries. Let alone cyber crime - those guys are still using windowsXP and not even linux to get started.

Quote
I like the awareness being created by the Indian police.
They are not doing anything. They are making the problems more intense with this blanket ban on crypto and extortion techniques.

Quote
What is the awareness level of law enforcement about crypto in your country? If All Police Officers are Trained in Crypto
Very poor. It will not improve unless the government steps in. Even bitcoin enthusiasts are powerless against their mob. Moreover would anybody even want to reveal their bitcoin using habit in countries where it is being looked down upon?

My country has been actively enforcing and busting these kinds of investment scams including crypto related ones and other cyber crimes that I believe our Police, together and in coordination with other law enforcement agencies are continuously training to acquire necessary knowledge and skills in order to be more effective in combating these types of crimes.
this cyber crimes issue has been exist for years with various motives .

as time goes by there is a lot of new motives behind any commited cybercrimes , cryptocurrency that born since 2008 become a primadonna for those who have abusive behavior like scamming on behalf bitcoin , phising etc.
a lot of techniques making fraudlent in this digital financial era and i believe every country in this world even the poorest country are aware about the issue and have taken action against all of it , still they can not handle it 100% , they only human.

cryptocurrency is a free world , nobody can protect you 100% not even police , educate yourself that is the better protection.

if this is applied in my country will be much more developed, most police and law enforcement here never understand and learn about crypto, so they are so easy to digest anything about the media that crypto currency is not a good thing to use and can be used for criminal acts, Progress like this is certainly expected for crypto friends in his country, whatever it is best for India I salute for development there

I don't really think that they are informed well about crypto or Bitcoin,
Most of the people in my country only thinks about Bitcoin or crypto as a scam since they lack of knowledge about it,
Most of them thinks that it is scam or something like Ponzi scheme since most of the scammer in our country are now accepting investment through Bitcoin,
So they would mistake it as an investment scheme and they don't really know about crypto.

I don't think that police officers in my country give that much attention about cryptocurrency. Even the government. Right now because of the aim of our President, they're more focused on drugs and other things. They focuses more on war on drugs. Maybe also one reason is that there's no much news about crypto-related scams, or illegal activities/transactions that they have to handle.

In my country, the police do not care about Cryptocurrencies because there are no laws that supports or declares it illegal, so when someone is caught and they find out that the person is a Cryptocurrency Enthusiasts, they would just check to make sure the person is not participating in illegal activities online and if the person checks out, then they let them go, I hope my country's Government wakes up to the fact that other countries are taking this very serious and jump on the bandwagon before it's too late.

in my country, establish cryptocurrency investments, they must ask permission from the financial services authority, and the institution always urges to be careful about cryptocurrency investments, because of many shitcoin investments. also, the police in my country can still arrest because they have a cybercrime team.

Well, in my country our government has no issue regarding with the utilization of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Let's say it is between being illegal and legal. These cryptocurrencies are not already part of our constitution but I can't say that is illegal since I can still use it freely, as a matter of fact, there is an online wallet created here in my country that is affiliated with our banks. Moreover, it has been featured in local news however it was introduced with having a bad image.

If crypto is fully ban in India then they can arrest them but if not, then there's no point of aresting just because of mining, in my country I can consider that our government allows us to explore more as long as we know how to research since they know crypto exist already or have communities using crypto but their not limiting it jsut they remind to avoid scammer and do illegal activities using it.

In our country, police are aware of the existence of cryptocurrency but they don't know how it works. Police here still needs enough knowledge about crypto scams and Ponzi schemes. That's one of the reasons why the scam victims here can't reach achieve justice. The good thing is the government isn't against crypto which is an advantage for most users.

Other countries policemen are aware about crypto but they are not well educated how to use and how it all works. I can say I am one of the lucky person knows how crypto works. In terms of law enforcement the police doesn't know how to track the illegal doings. This is good to hear in your country that police has its understanding to track illegal act that user can be avoided to join Ponzi scheme.

Here in the Philippines, there are some police who are aware with bitcoin and cryptocurrency scams because there are incidents like a couple was arrested due to bitcoin investment scam and they are the owners of the New-G company that they stole a total of 15 Million Philippine Peso. Hoping that every police in every country could really arrest those people who are scammers for us not to be afraid anymore to take risk in making investments.

The police here are not educated about Crypto criminals but on legal matters and implementing the laws, but the citizens in our country who are into Cryptocurrency is very much educated in Ponzi and scam programs, there's still a lot of Ponzi scheme and they are victimizing gullible people, but we have our own SEC and our own cyber bureau to prosecute these scammers.

They caught a miner and closed down a bank linked exchange. And there are some reports of crypto frauds with relatively unknown crypto projects doing lavish seminars in hotels.
Trading of crypto is illegal while the rules are not clear for holding. There were some hotels and restaurants with bitcoin accepted here signs, seems like they've taken down the signs.

The cops in my country are not aware in bitcoin and crypto currency, so when someone reports to them in this case they pass it on to their superior this the NBI or National Bureau of Investigation. They are investigating this case and when they confirm it is there that the Police and the NBI can join forces to arrest cyber criminals. But in the case of bitcoin scam I heard a little that they are catching on because it is difficult to track because Bitcoin is made to be anonymous.

Not really. They have some cyber crime divisions and if you are strictly dealing with crypto and your whole illegal business model depends on it you may get targeted by them.
Like if you are selling child porn on deep web for cryptocurrencies they will track you and also try to track the money.

If you get arrested for anything else like avoiding taxes they aren't going to look for crypto. They don't care what you're doing as long as it's not illegal and crypto is legal.

I kinda agree with you because they don't seem to share their knowledge to the people if it's not about the risk of security. Most of the time if they would like people to know it they would certainly go straight to the media and with now that social media is a thing it is easy for them to share it there. So far the cops are not giving any signs of restrictions or something so i think it's still okay.

Authorities here in our country seems to be neutral about cryptocurrency, though there are several cases already about scams that happened and cryptocurrency's name is involved, bitcoin to be specific, they are being cautious when it comes to huge transaction of fiat via cryptocurrency, that is why we never expose our money too much in public like banks or money remittances, being lowkey is the key, and just slowly cash out your money to not become suspicious.

my country Philippines seem pretty aware crypto exist, there are even coins purposely made for remittances here but i'm not sure if the police authorities are well informed about how it works.  there were suppose tobe discussions on crypto in the senate but i'm not aware if it were really discussed since the political instability here is somehow what is to be preserved first. this is troubled country but perfect for crypto to exist.

To curb cryptocurrency Ponzi and scams police cybercrime units need to be well trained. In my opinion, every crypto community member should work hard to create awareness about such scams.

In my country, I see many sites that are Bitcoin ponzi and scams. These thrive because the police put in little effort in tacking them. I like the awareness being created by the Indian police. What is the awareness level of law enforcement about crypto in your country? If All Police Officers are Trained in Crypto... https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/indian-police-train-officers-on-cryptocurrency/
In my country I don't think the police are well informed about cryptocurrencies. They are very stupid and the way act when they see people that are making use of cryptocurrencies you will know that they are so dumb. Another thing is that there is another problem that we are currently having and police are now linking crypto with the same people, funny case and a long story.

It's very good that police officers should be educated concerning cryptocurrencies, that way they wouldn't be misbehaving. And the government should let people know whether Bitcoin is legal or illegal in their country and police should be taking actions based on that.

I think law enforcer did not focus on crimes related to Bitcoin because this is not yet legalized in my country and I think it will need to fully legalize first before authority will study about that cases and take seriously in seizing Bitcoin and other crypto crimes. As of now, we have our own responsibility not to fall into one of the victims. Just always be careful because the authority did not have the knowledge yet in solving crimes about bitcoin incidents.

This is an attractive news that India police is being trained on cryptocurrency but in actual there is no indian police, police is identified by states in Indian and state governments have full control over Police department.Center govt can suggest something to state govts. but its up to state govts if they implement it or not. In actual scenario there is high corruption in police deptt all over the country. Lets see if something good comes out of it.

I think my country has one of the most incompetent cyber-security teams a European country could have. Cronyism and the age-old problem of politicians putting their favorite people in the public sector has made for some of the most useless police force in the EU in my opinion. Greece is a peaceful country thankfully, but our police is lazy and know close to nothing about policing standards, citizen rights and generally their job. That's why they stay away from enforcement as much as possible in my experience.

So far, the mass adoption of crypto here in country is rapidly increasing and I can tell the Police officer already know about cryptocurrency, but so far now, we don't have any law yet regarding crypto crimes, so they are having hard time to solved the cases of those victims of scams such as 'hyip and any other type of ponzi scheme, but still, they managed to file a case to other scammers by filing money laundering etc.

The awareness level of law enforcement about crypto in your country is not too high as the crypto is not yet become legal in here. I think most of the police here don't know about crypto and only ordinary people who know crypto. Maybe if my government approves crypto as to be the new payment method, that will make them learn more so they can understand what the crypto is. Besides that, I think many of them will catch people who use crypto for illegal things because so far, the police are caught people for money laundering.

scam projects like this inside crypto needs full support from people who have a broad knowledge about it. Helping not only the police but also
the entire crypto communities to be well aware of scam businesses like this.

The last time the news about a fake bitcoin ponzi investment was revealed by the local police in my country. There are many people who are caught unfortunately they are caught after they successfully scaming many investors, and the participants investment value was fantastic.
This happens because of a lack of understanding of the correct way of investing, they invest using a third party and do not invest using a personal wallet, Whereas in my country investing in cryptocurrencies is legal.
I really appreciate the work of the police in dismantling this Ponzi Bitcoin Investment Syndicate.

its normal for the police to not take full action because those police were only built not for the crypto but police jobs are purely for your own local community  . police are not special hackers or have a specialty in the internet stuffs .  i think all they can do is to track the wallet and possibly link it to the other . if they got lucky they can find the real owner or the criminal  . but i agree on your last opinion  . better if police can start learning the curve of cryptos so that they can improve thier perfrormance to help people that have issues on thier crypto

Our Policemen can’t stop people from owning or transacting bitcoin because it is not illegal and our government is not that strict when it comes to bitcoin. Policemen can only do their job if someone is filling a case against bitcoin and that is too impossible to happen not unless people scam the other people using bitcoin and go to the court to make this case formal and take the legal actions.

even in my country there is a cyber crime force and its not really only for crypto related only issue
but the good thing is you can still complain but in my opinion solving the issue will be challenging for them
because they can only solve the issue if the scammer is within the country
its more better if we will have a worldwide crypto crime group so they can pass the issue if it is not within their country

I am pretty sure if I went to my native country and asked the police about what is a Cryptocurrency they would ask me back .
Is the amount of information they have on cryptocurrencies.
It's rare for someone normal on the street to even have heard about Bitcoins because most people are busy in doing the jobs 9-5 and then their everyday things they rarely have the chance to sit back relax and to know about something out of the box .

Just always be careful because the authority did not have the knowledge yet in solving crimes about bitcoin incidents.
here in us they informed that some of the scammers nowadays are using the word "bitcoin" in order for them to fool many people, we all know that bitcoin ranging $7000-$9000 monthly they using this figure like, when people want an easy money for 30 days they will get double of it, many people know this tactic and it has been already shown in mainstream media, they know bitcoin but not in a good way too bad.

I dont think they have much knowledge about it.
Sure, there are also ponzi schemes in my country which used bitcoin as means of payment but still they do not understand how it happens.
Sometimes they tend to put the blame in bitcoin. That is already one reason why I think they don't understand what crypto currency is.
The media writers who put it in news have the same kind of idea. Not much of a knowledge to them.

In my country, I see many sites that are Bitcoin ponzi and scams. These thrive because the police put in little effort in tacking them. I like the awareness being created by the Indian police. In the United States of America the policy for cryptocurrencies is pretty strict. There happens to be several governmental organizations that exist to uphold the law within the financial sector. When dealing with assets like cryptocurrency, the sector falls into one of many areas of law. The CFTC or (The Commodities Futures Trading Commission) is there to regulate commodities, & Futures.
Then there is the SEC (The Securities Exchange Commission), which regulates securities laws.
Last but definitely not least is the IRS ( Imternal Revenue Service), they regulate tax. So as you can see, there are many regulatory bodies in existence.

There are many regulatory bodies over looking the market and we had some high profile arrests in the dark web too when the criminals were foolish enough to use bitcoin to do illegal trade thinking they are safe and when you are foolish enough to do such activities you are bound to get caught and the authorities have confiscated and auctioned bitcoin in the past.

Well our local FBI here is somewhat equipped with cyber crimes and we they have a dedicated unit to handle all cyber crimes, but I'm not sure if they have enough knowledge to deal with crypto or if they know how to track them out because its supposed to be (psuedo) anonymous.

Although the've caught one of the biggest ponzis in our country with regards to bitcoin because the person has been identified by the victims. But in cases criminals used social media (fake) and scam, it will be very difficult task for them.

in my country all the police are busy with their own work, they don't seem to want bitcoin, is it possible because they don't know yet, need someone to explain it, yes at least that's what I see, I see the police in my country are neutral and not too rigid with bitcoin .. !!

in almost every country there is a police division that deals with internet related crimes
in Russia it is called unit K , for example , in some other countries there are subdivisions that are dealing with information and are very tech savy
they recruit personnel that know their stuff , many of them ( especially in the countries like the US ) are working for the government after having been caught for cyber related crimes
in Northern Korea hackers and money they get is a part of the GDP and I'm not kidding - they are employed by the government and the proceeds from their attacks are going into the budget
as for the crypto and how our police is equipped to deal with it , I would say if you call them and tell them you had bitcoins stolen
you'd have hard time proving anything since crypto is not legal tender or even defined as asset here , technically , they will open a case since they are obliged to react
but I would not pinch my hopes on anything coming out of it

In our country, most of the police have no knowledge about crypto currencies. What they know only are ponzi schemes and bitcoin trading scams, they don't know more about crypto currencies.

Because in here, if we talk about bitcoin most of the mindset of the police and other victims of bitcoins trading scams. Bitcoin is a type is a type of scam, they didn't even bother digging what is bitcoin that is why they easily fall to the hands of the scammers.

Same here. Some crypto scammers were already caught in my country and most of them are those running ponzi schemes where investors reported their illegal business. I think, without those investors reporting them, those scammers won't be caught. The police system in my country is I can say not really equip with high end gadgets or technology to combat those crypto scammers. Because sometimes they don't even know where to start.

If there is indeed a crime related to bitcoin in my country, the police in my country usually act quickly. Because at my country already
has a cyber crime police unit to deal with crime in the internet world and including crimes that occur in the world of cryptocurrency.
For example if there are public reports regarding investment fraud with bitcoin police to act immediately to arrest the perpetrators of
the crime. So far I have had enough satisfied with the performance of the police in my country regarding the handling of crime in the
internet, also including crimes that occur in the world of cryptocurrency.

Not all police in our country our aware about bitcoin, but there are only few police aware if someone just reported to the police if they were a victim of a scam in a bitcoin investment. But i think a lot of people in my country already know about bitcoin because there are times that bitcoin was mentioned in the television due to scams. Sad to know that bitcoin was only known about scam ang not it's value, that is why in the near future not all police should be aware of it, but every people all over the world.

I don't think that country's police should be the one responsible to be informed about the updates and overall cryptocurrency state in a country. Their duty is to protect their people, to help people abide law. And not to watch on ponzi projects that are considered scams. There are other sectors of government that is more suitable for it. We have SEC, the Security and Exchange Commision that might provide regulations to these projects, and most country have their anti cyber crime protection law to secure the privacy and funds of their people.

I know for sure that our central bank had the knowledge of cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin since a well-known online wallet here in my country is registered and we can see it in the app and also you can search it online. In addition to that, there are news in the past regarding Bitcoin but I can only recall two which the first was way back 2017 where the price shoot up and people had been talking about it while the second is about a certain group of individuals who are caught by the police using Bitcoin as a medium of their crime worth millions.

Though I can't say that the entire police force knows about it but I am sure they have heard it one way or another and the government itself is aware of its existence.

there are scammers that has been put behind bars in my country but those are huge amount involves, but the smaller one?nope there are no definite actions and besides my friends case is still pending until now for lack of evidence though they have already presented enough.in other words we almost have the same government mate and its sad that victims need to suffer more before tasting the revenge and justice.

I think police in my country not really know about crypto, or maybe only a few. Some of my family is police officer and don't know about crypto. Maybe because there are no regulation about bitcoin in  my country. But not banned too. Some case that appear in news and related in crypto usually common criminal like scam, hack, etc and use Bitcoin as payment.

In my country, I see many sites that are Bitcoin ponzi and scams. These thrive because the police put in little effort in tacking them. I like the awareness being created by the Indian police. Many hype and ponzi site label their project with bitcoin make many investor trust for investing on hype, last yearn many investor lost their money because have hype using bitcoin site for their project like Bitconnect, we know hype always giving percent allocation every day for investor but bitcoin never giving profit how much percent every hours, depend with how bitcoin price up.

Here in my country, I have no problem with the police enforcement on ponzi programs that are now using cryptocurrencies as their mode of pay-ins and payouts to avoid the usual detection but in many ways than one are destroying the image of the cryptocurrencies they are using because people will easily assume that these ponsiz are representing cryptocurrency when actually there is no such a connection. However, being under the law and using the presumption of innocence, police can only love if there are complaints and there are orders from the court. This is where the weakness is. I believe that government agencies should be pro-active in seeking these scams and stopping them before they can grow and victimize as many people as possible.

I heard that Indian police are focusing a good part of their time and resources to be running after these pyramiding programs which have fooled many people to shell out their hard-earned money in the hope of getting more money. This is really a universal problem and almost all countries are affected by this malady, well maybe for as long as we are all humans and under the power of green then programs like this will be sprouting from time to time. People should be educated and maybe it would be good if there can also be a slight penalty for people who are promoting these scams offline and online, that way people will stop talking about them.

The police in my country are so uninformed that even if I am into legal cryptocurrency, they might still take me for a scammer when they see any suspicious thing on my gadget because in my country, we have some guys that are duping some of these innocent women for relationship purpose and taking advantage of them by collecting their fund, so they have a legal unit that is set up to monitor any suspicious transaction and also have the right to stop and ask any individual they feel is questionable through his character or look, so anyone they see with cryptocurrency wallet or sites related to it may even be taken as a scammer too, that shows how well uninformed that they are. I don’t have any issue with law enforcement agents acting against the abuse of cryptocurrency, but I hope they don’t harass the innocent ones in the process also.

When I did research about it recently I find official statements about crypto from Tax office, Central bank and Regulator body for finance.
All of them warned that crypto is high risk because of luck of regulation and legal protection.
Tax office even prepared detailed explanation about crypto and how to report earnings from crypto and pay taxes.
So,  in my country authorities know crypto very well and they are ready to deal with it.
I even remember the case when  police discovered some drug dealers who bought drugs in the dark web with btc.

This situation has been shown only for illegal and criminal activities. When you have the scope of doing the criminal job then you are under the supervision of your territory's police, it's a simple case, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are both using in various types of the criminal case, that's why many countrie's administration are taking consideration very seriously, so that's another threat for this platform and its future, Most important thing is that a majority people are known to this platform as a criminal cave where everything is running for the illegal activities, this impression is not good for this platform. and this is why police could hamper your territory for their own duty.

What is the awareness level of law enforcement about crypto in your country? If All Police Officers are Trained in Crypto.
Actually in my country the awareness level of law about the cryptocurrency was very low because here in my country cryptocurrency is not embraced by everyone especially the government so that's why it is very invulnerable the awareness of crypto here. Another one factor is the police doesn't have any enough knowledge about the cryptocurrency and this also because they don't know what cryptocurrency is and no one teaches them on what is it so the crime that are occuring under the cryptocurrency was very hard to be solved by the police officers.

In my country the cops used to extort crypto miners by seizing their equipment and charging them with "terrorism funding" or some other bullshit. The courts always dismissed those charges, but miners were losing their precious time while their equipment was arrested, so it was cheaper to pay a bribe to the cops and keep mining. But now there's less news about it, and the central bank has softened their stance on crypto, so I assume cops don't bother miners as much as they did before.

Lol poor police in your country charging bitcoin miners terrorism funding. That's the negative side of many police, they don't really understand something and they are free to charge you with any offense specially if you have very little knowledge about laws, they are not afraid because the government will cover them in case of problems sad but true.

Police in my country were not trained about crypto related stuffs in fact they have zero knowledge about it even the so-called IT-unit has limited or no knowledge about it because it is not part of their training, we are all aware of transactions of cryptos is done anonymously thus very difficult for a non knowledgeable persons to track or arrest people involved it, how can a policeman with zero knowledge in crypto identifies an ordinary wallet? he may assume that its just an ordinary gaming App.

Well they need to hired new people to get that job if they cant do that. Its easy to understand crypto and tracking transaction if you study it.as a police they need to learn and study every little thing about online transactions.  its because there is many new ways to rub people and make a crime  using online money or crypto currrency.

Basically a software even though it is not directly connected to the system, can work by scraping data from the interfaces of the blockchain info, and other blockchain websites where transactions could be traced. In this case, Police needs the help of new emerging Blockchain IT enthusiast to study the patterns and make the blockchain tracing system easy for the Police. In terms of dealing with the hacking situations that happens, blockchain's infrastructure actually can handle it, what they need to do is to educate people how to be more aware of vulnerabilities in blockchain and crypto.

In most cases law enforcement isn't even up to date with the non crypto tech cases.... it happens all too often that they just put your case on top of a large pile of other cases to not look into any of them for years.

Only when you contact them to ask what the status is they might give it a look, but only because you basically forced them to do so. If it wasn't you contacting them, they would forget about your case after a few years or so.... unacceptable but it happens.

Not much pretty sure about what actually cops think of crypto in our nation as they don't have information on such topics but according to me the government provoke them to think that they are more related to scams and criminal activities and don't know it as moreover a currency that can be use to make digital payments with safe network over internet. But slowly with new ventures and projects they will also be more aware about crytocurrencies.

Here in the Philippines, I can say that the police knew about crypto but very limited and I think that they only know it because of bad people who used crypto as a front in their investment scams. Our government is somewhat in neutral terms with crypto so it's not legal nor illegal that is why some large companies are slowly adopting the technology in which I think that in the near future all policemen will be forced to be more knowledgeable about crypto.

In my country there is a site in which all the trusted exchange offices are collected.Through this site, you can easily carry out any transactions with cryptocurrency. So far there have been no complaints from the police)

I have an advice for you - stop depending on the police or the state to protect you. Use your head, do your own research. Because ultimately when the police learns about crypto "to fight crime" one of the crimes they will fight is owning crypto. Because they are the part of the state, and states are very-very afraid of crypto, because it can ultimately strip them of their power. Stop being a baby and take your life in your own hands.

Well this is rather tricky, can't say exactly how much they know but from the look of things, there may not be much information they hold about crypto.there should be some enlightenment down here in Nigeria though. Especially among the forces.

I think the police officers in our country are not that well informed about crypto and are even not aware that crypto is existing. Bitcoin was once indirectly involved in a scam but after that, the issue had gone. What is more concern  about crypto are only few banks here that are starting to study about cryptocurrecy.

in my opinion the police in my country are smart enough and understand about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. but certainly not all police. only the police in charge of cyberspace crime understand bitcoin. and a few months ago I heard the news that the police in my country managed to arrest a person who hacked an American company and asked for a bitcoin payment. the criminal has managed to collect some bitcoin from hacking companies in America. finally caught. in my country it is not allowed to use bitcoin for payment but it is permitted to use bitcoin for trading and investment tools.

Bitcoin is banned in my country, many people in this country do not know about Bitcoin, but the police officers of this country have been arrested and imprisoned for trading Bitcoin, because it is still banned in this country, but there are many police forces who keep it in their minds, and then some.  The police detained those working against it, thank you.

I remember that drugs syndicate also used bitcoin for transacting but the police able to catch them, not sure how deep the the government knows about this crypto and what is the improvement that they doing in order to counter those illegal doers and make a sanctions to whoever and whatever illegal business that be created using bitcoin/crypto. The good thing, they knew about crypto and they are neutral about their stand.

The current president of the philippines do have their list of person and places where they can be found. Using bitcoin to do transaction is just another discovery for them once they have done their deep investigation about those criminals.
The government still remain as neutral when it comes to cryptocurrency since they focus more on the development of the country than to waste their time and money to debate if they will adopt and accept cryptocurrency in the said country.

Maybe because many cases are been filed in your country to the police that is why it is banned, that is the reason why here in our country it is not yet legal too but it is not banned, but when scammer continous to fool many people there is a possibility that police will takes place and they will banned bitcoin here too.

I just want to add what I heard from the policemen about cryptocurrency. there was this obvious ponzi scheme investment method that they are promoting. that time they don't know what it was, all they know its paying and they thought it was a legit investment method. this scam investment company is also offering a refferal program, so they're victim is growing everyday.

There were so many victims that time because its already 2 years when in started. they used Etherium to fool investors. the method they used is the like of cloud mining. When I first heard about it, I quickly warn them about it, although they were police they don't believe me. they say, they paid us al this time, how can you say it is a scam?

It was really annoying to warn them about it, they don't believe me. until the sudden dip last year has come and that company was dissapeared. just like the other scam investment project and they all lost their money.

in my country it is not allowed to use bitcoin for payment but it is permitted to use bitcoin for trading and investment tools.
A very strange approach in your country. If cryptocurrency is available for trading and investment, then why can’t it pay for goods?). For trading, you either buy it or, after making a profit, sell it.I think in Your country is not so bad and most likely in the future such services will appear.

Because in my country I have not recognized Bitcoin's solvency, so the police in my country do not care about Bitcoin because their work has nothing to do with them.  Only some departments know about them such as cyber security force, economic police.

I do not know if there are any rules or law regarding cryptocurrencies since there are many people engaging themselves to crypto and I haven't heard of anyone put to jail because of this, well, there are few who uses the name bitcoin in scamming people base on the news. But even though some people use it in scams, the government isn't triggered by this to the point where they'll put rules regarding cryptos, therefore, police are not really aware of cryptos or anything connected to this. Also, they see many other crimes that are happening here to be more focused on and police are trained to eliminate them.

Basically police sector is not enough in dealing with this, they don't have enough knowledge in the IT industry to trace and to have tools in detecting transactions which are prohibited. They need a higher sector such as an FBI, to help them investigate, in addition, it is too hard to capture criminals spread around the world that uses cryptocurrency, most of these ilegal doers knows how to hide their identity so others won't see them in action.

In my country bitcoin and other crypto aren't well developed here, so not a lot of people know about it till now. Even I think that we don't have rules about the digital currencies in my country, It's kinda not traceable by the police so in the most of cases, no one can't judge you using crypto in my country unless if polices find out that you had a lot of money so they can ask you from where it comes and it's gonna be a problem.

I think many country have know and popular with bitcoin world, they have understand whit bitcoin and how get earning with bitcoin as investing, We do not worried with policemen when checking our site and our money come from, they have understand which one ponzi site give bitcoin as label their project and which one bitcoin really give profit, you can give them source link how to get earning with bitcoin and altcoin investing.

Not every country has cyber security. But on the whole You are deeply mistaken.Because the police are closely studying the cryptocurrency, as with its help there is at least the purchase and sale of drugs.

They always think that Bitcoin and everything related to Bitcoin is a scam. Of course, it is not their fault because documents about bitcoin are not popular in the society right now. They are not educated about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Their job is to deal with work involving property disputes, fraud and legal proceedings. Bitcoin is not recognized by the state so they do not need to find out what bitcoin does. They only care about what is relevant to their work.

from that reason why the police understand cryptocurrency as an illegal currency, but in some countries many police already understand what cryptocurrency is and what its function is so that the police are not suspicious when making payments using cryptocurrency.

In general, our police are not well informed about anything. They were badly educated about things and loved to harass people about crap like cannabis. Their education about crypto is likely just as bad. Thank god cannabis is legal now. Higher up police will know about it like the cybercrime squads. But if you go make a report in the police station about crypto they won't have a clue what you are talking about. Our cybercrime unit is pretty good so they would know more. Honestly, I don't know exactly how good they are but they seem to be aware of scams and things. Yet online the best way to stop scams is to educate yourself. Prevention is better than protection.
