The reason Litecoin hit ATH in 2017 is because all coins hit ATH back then. But times changed and I have seen very little progress with this coin.

I don't think so actually, Litecoin is a top-class coin, the brother of Bitcoin, but yet it has not that possibility to hit 1K USD! If Litecoin hit 1K then Bitcoin should cross 50K USD, which is not possible in a couple of years. But in this decade, there has a possibility though!

The market is unpredictable and the value of Litecoin remains a mystery to many large investors. I only hope Litecoin can reach $200 by the end of this year because this is the price I will be profitable but for that to happen, Bitcoin needs to reach $17,000. It's really hard to say what going to happen next but Bitcoin will definitely have a big price improvement.

I have been holding Litecoin for the past 2 years and if this year cannot make a profit then I will consider sell to find a better new coin.

If litecoin is dependent on the development of crypto, I can believe it will never rise to $1000 as you said because this market only welcomes newer things every year, even though the old cryptos are still valid and still exist but comparing the value of these altcoins year by year, such as litecoin, the beginning and the present, the growth is no longer seen, instead it is a decline. The brothers of bitcoin have ended their era, the age of ancient warriors is over, youth is a more accepted thing, litecoin can only increase and decrease in a cycle within a certain limit, cannot exceed the limit

Even time has been changed, if bitcoin reach new ATH, i think all altcoin can reach it too..
I dont have litecoin but i hold some eth, i hope eth can reach $1500 again

In the next few years if bitcoin could break ATH and rise to around $ 30-40k then I can believe that LTC can reach $ 1000. Although the current LTC is not a great altcoin and is worth investing in and there is no reason to help LTC to raise prices after halving, but its price depends entirely on the price of Bitcoin, if Bitcoin goes up, the price of LTC will surely increase soon thereafter.

In crypto land, anything is possible. I've seen several altcoins being worth nothing to hundreds of dollars in just a few days. Maybe Litecoin will experience the same thing in the future, as people become over-hyped with it somehow. Faster transaction speeds, lower costs, and the introduction of Mimblewimble for privacy could make Litecoin a viral cryptocurrency within a couple of years from now. The total supply of 84 million coins that will ever be mined, puts Litecoin closer to Bitcoin in every way. With enough demand, we could easily hit $1k in the future. All we need is for Bitcoin to reach new ATHs in price for Litecoin and other major cryptocurrencies to do the same. While there is no designated timeframe for this to happen, the smart money will choose limited crypto assets on the market (effectively resulting in higher prices over time). Litecoin fits the bill nicely as it's one of the rarest cryptocurrencies in existence besides Bitcoin.

Yeah, definitely a possibility in this decade, I mean we've all seen what happens in crypto and the crazy prices are possible again and again. And like you said, right at the front of tech development too, Lightning, Segwit, Mimble and who knows even atomic swaps this next few years, Litecoin is an old alt that one day could just explode with real users, like BTC, and people would feel much safer on it than on other coins that can just disappear overnight.

I think still too early to think about 1000$ for litecoin in next few years because POW will become less popular in the future, so this might make 1000$ target too hard for litecoin. POW is too much costly, wasting power, wasting hardware and single person can not do mining alone. But i do agree that we are in crypto and nothing is impossible, hope litecoin reach 1000$ soon.

Exactly, litecoin went up in value at that time because everything went up in value, but I think the next bull market is going to be different, many investors have learned a lot since then and they are not going to invest in any coin just because it has been here for a long time, they need to see there is some kind of hope for that coin to be adopted in the future, and litecoin is just another of the many copies of bitcoin that we have in the market so it is difficult for it to go up when so many copies have appeared since 2017.

I think that everything will largely depend on the price of Bitcoin, if it rises, the LTC price will also rise, in general time will show.

While Litecoin is no better than Bitcoin and most other altcoins out there on the market, it's still one of the oldest and most trusted cryptocurrencies in existence today. This allows Litecoin to have better branding & mainstream recognition than other newer altcoins being used by people in the mainstream world. The mere fact that Litecoin's supply is limited (only 84m coins will ever be mined) tells us that sooner or later, it will rise towards astronomical levels in price. Of course, there needs to be active development and innovation to sustain these claims. With the announcement (and hopeful integration) of Mimblewimble into Litecoin, things could start moving in the right direction. Until then, Litecoin will remain stagnant in price across the crypto market.

As a long time Litecoin hodler, I still have faith in the cryptocurrency (despite not showing any signs of demand at the moment). After all, Litecoin is a tried-and-tested cryptocurrency that resembles Bitcoin in every way. Other altcoins have lesser security than Litecoin being easily prone to 51% attacks. With good effort from the LTC community, we could experience new gains across the crypto market within a couple of years from now. It wouldn't hurt saving a few coins just in case the next bull market has a positive effect over Litecoin's price.

Nonetheless, there are many actively developed and maintained cryptocurrencies out there which prove to be more popular than Litecoin itself. This would challenge Litecoin's place on the crypto market within the long term, if it doesn't gather the attention from people in the mainstream world. It's up to Litecoin supporters to increase mainstream adoption for their cryptocurrency, in order to maintain its price for years to come. Otherwise, Litecoin could end up being just like Dogecoin as a purely speculative asset. Just my thoughts

I think the current price increase of LTC cannot make the coin reach $1,000 yet because the crypto market is not ready for the new altcoin season and Bitcoin cannot return to the $20,000 so this will be very difficult. Currently I can be sure that LTC will reach $100 soon by the end of February if all goes well. Of course this is a prediction based on my analysis of the last few days and won't be 100% accurate.

what you say is very true, that it is preferred that Litecoin wants to continue to develop the project and don't always be affected by bitcoin. because like it or not dependence on bitcoin will make it difficult to develop by itself. but not apathetic with Litecoin but if it can be up to $ 1K is a very big progress from Litecoin, hopefully what is so many people longing for can be fulfilled even though it may take quite a long time.

Everyone has their own opinion about litecoin, in my opinion litecoin is at the top only because it is a very old coin with a lot of history so it is still there by only inertia, so I do not really think it is going to reach 1000 as many people believe, that will be an increase of more than 17x and at least to me its price is already too high and most likely will go down in the near future, however if what you are looking is for a good coin to speculate from time to time that will not disappear overnight litecoin can be a good option.

its not far from reality, but they must have a strong proof that the community will hold and buy litecoin... it was on 100$ plus before.. hopping for rates to go hype
