All gamblers have the feeling that they are going to win and be rich this is why the gamble. Otherwise, if you want just to entertain yourself you can try fantasy leagues, board games, etc - games that would not cost your money.

Yes, we can determine the difference between the two and likely judge a gambler base on his story and think on which side he's part of. But you are still hurting yourself if you do it carelessly.

Actually, it happens most of the time. Some people think that gambling was just of having fun at first but somehow it changes especially when you win the jackpot price at your first bet, then it starts to make a change of mindset and looking for more( greediness started to rise). Addiction could be next and most it happens to those who become greedy and not even satisfied with winning of small amount but would like to earn more. The first time I tried to gamble online I only use the free satoshis to play, trying to know the actual feeling when I gamble and its entertaining. Though it comes to a point that I became addicted and forget whats more important to me, I still overcome those times wherein im careless letting myself be addicted just to earn money.

I love the honesty ringing in your post but I don’t share it. Winning is a very enticing bonus to be honest. But have you never played any gambling game just for the sake of having fun? I have played many games and made bets on those just to have some fun. I usually play texas hold em against friends without thinking of making money. That happens oftentimes. For me, gambling with only winning in mind will give you more stress than just losing the game itself because you will likely face disappointment.

I am also one of those who want to make money like I want to spend my spare time with gambling because it gives me good income though. When I get free time I just spend in a casino making money with gambling.
