of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

The problem with us is we do not expect this top happen, this is the first time it happen, we all think that all the coins we are holding are going to the moon because, we have history as proof that it is going up continously, until bad things happen, and we are at a lost, we are all waiting for the market to recover, but unfortunately it did not happen, and so we have the longest bear market.
The big lesson that we have learned here is to always think of our position, and not to pour 100% of our trust.

It is not a bad choice to make an altcoin portfolio without BTC but the consequences of the altcoin season can delay prediction based investing. Holders have faith in specific projects and they don't want to lose their hope in the bear market. Alt season has seasonal cycles IMO and the fools don't have an investment plan for the specific periods. Only patient investors will take their expected profits in the next bull market season.

I think Holders are not fools for holding and wishing their tokens to have better prices in the future. It is not foolishness to do that, it is your choice after all. As for the part where you feel greedy to think you could earn more than the current price of your tokens during that time of the peak, well I can say you're not alone. Most people will feel the same way as you are when it comes to money but for me, until when will you have that kind of thought? I think it is nice to be positive but we should also think of the consequences we might face if things don't go as we plan. I would say that you should put a limit as to how much price you want to make with such investment, in that way you can satisfy yourself with the guarantee that you earned money from that token. But the decision is still yours to decide.

There's no other way if you already failed to sell your coin before complete dumped happened. You can only hold and hope that the market will bring something back. The peak of those projects happened when the market is bullish and in order to recover or to get something good from this investment, you need to continue holding and add more patience. You will only stress yourself if you will try to sell it now and buy other assets it's a tough decision to make.

I don't think we take for a fool the word Hodl. If you are thinking that we are fools in believing on that word, try to ask people that got through a lot of pain and hodl through the years.

What I think about one coin in your list is that, I don't think centra will ever be alive again. Because that was considered as a fraud, that brought that coin down a lot. I manage to observe that coin since I was a bounty participant on their bounty.

Sometimes we're HODL not by choice, at least not entirely. There are times when we had to hodl for just because it is what it is. When the losses are too big to bear hodl might be the only way if you're still hoping for a miracle to happen that only God knows when.

What I think about one coin in your list is that, I don't think centra will ever be alive again. Because that was considered as a fraud, that brought that coin down a lot. I manage to observe that coin since I was a bounty participant on their bounty.

Indeed, Centra used to have quite the price when it was released back then. I forgot what happened but the price dropped very deep and I think that centra is valueless now.

Same here, though I only have ATLANT, ETH, and MCO as the top coins that I am expecting me to give me more profits when the bull run came last 2017, it got me hyped where my greediness exceeded my expectations, and I ended up disappointed when 2018 comes, when the prices of all cryptocurrencies started to fall down, I've realized that I should have sell it right away. I also have EDGELESS but I was just a beginner when I had that token, I don't know about the properties of it, that it also go up like bitcoin.

But, cryptocurrency always disappoints us, no, I guess we just don't have enough knowledge to do what we have to do in able to gain profits. If we sell it in instant when the price goes up, it will keep going up, and if we hodl it hoping it would goes up even more, it goes down, it is so confusing, therefore we are always stock in the middle of making decisions whether to sell or hodl.

Yes, don't lose hope, finish what you have started, and you'll eventually get what you wanted someday, in my opinion.

Once the projects is still alive and functioning, there is still hope no matter how slim it is, I have seen seemingly dead projects come alive in a bearish market and when the bullrun come, the dead really comes alive and does well, so you might be lucky when the bullrun comes but you shouldn't hinge your hope on it to avoid double disappointments, Cryptocurrency is a mystery especially when it comes to trading and hodling but it has it's perks and when any of them ends up doing well, it would be worth the time.

it's hard to bare on our mind the expectation versus reality scenario and in the end it makes us very frustrating and disappointing on the outcome. As we recall the value of crypto currency and it's popularity, everyone of us benefit those days especially those users hold for very long period of time as they are suddenly have a lot of money on the unexpected profit. On my own possible perception, I believe that it may happen in the future as long as the user can hold it for a very long period of time with patience to take care of the emotions that the user have.

Wow! Man! You are NPXS believer! My respect for that. I think that holder always will be winner if chosen coin or token are really good. But I think that you should add Bitcoin or Ethereum to your portfolio.

I don't know what to say, but I think you have missed your opportunity to sell the assets you have. I don't really know about all the assets you hold, but as far as I know, Centra has turned into a scam project after the CEO is in trouble. besides that, I think SONM also has quite a bad price.
I just want to say that changing the portfolio you have right now will be a good move. however 2020 will be a new opportunity, so try to match the popular coins that exist today.

The problem is you don't know when to quit holding, once you see huge gains just sell your holdings especially when the coin you are holding is altcoin unlike bitcoin that will surely increase another day, do not be greedy

Honestly, you should hold till the right point, because it makes no sense to invest in ETH back in 2016 for 80 bucks per coin and see ETH in summer 2019 for exact the same price. For everyone this point is different, so only you and your greed decide when the sell.

Selling the tokens right now may be pointless too since the price is just too little especially if you only hold few of it. I have about if these tokens too. Among the tokens you list Its Edgeless that has the most value during that time because its when ETH really goes skyrocket. The team also distributed a lot of tokens to the bounty hunters which equates to more than 10 ETH that time for those with high ranks.

Edgeless these days seem to be an old project already because there are more platforms created to compete it. Same with Atlant, there are platforms of same concept too.  Holding them today for bullrun may still be profitable for you

I agree with you, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the keys among others. In my opinion, it's better if you can give more focus on coins that are in the top 5 right now, because that is likely to bring profit to you at the right time. We all know that nowadays new projects are hard to believe. They are telling us to HODL, while on their own there has not been any significant development and they seem to have failed in making us feel safe in the current position.

Holding on to coins while they are surging is plain stupidity, what do you expected? they will keep going higher and higher? that's greediness my friend, for every crypto you hold always have a target and plan to opt out when you meet your target

Sometimes we made silly decisions by hearing people and not hearing own mind. You are not alone here, lots of people did the same mistake by hearing people's chorus HODL HODL, Btc will be 40K USD in February 2017! Even If you make a topic about Hodl or Sell today, 90% of people will suggest you hold! They even don't know about the project but still will suggest holding for future profit, it's like those people have a mindset about holding. Honestly, I don't think your holding coins will make you profitable anymore, in my view only NPXS and FUEL seems good, others are shit.

All these coins are good altcoins, right now i am sure you would have learn your lesson, coins will never keep surging without reevaluating, the fault is all yours, hopefully the future will be better
