Give it time. For now cryptocurrencies are mostly viewed as a speculative asset. But later on, people will start associating them with money not just some weird tech thing that magically have some worth value.

Yes with time this is all going to happen but the "Quicker" we start doing just that the quicker "That time" will arrive   And it can not come quick enough, the world is ready.

do not just give time. I saw some of the coins from the portfolio that he was holding could not be sold, or even become a scam. for now, I recommend reviewing the development of the coins you hold. if you still intend to invest, try to choose the top coins that exist today, because these coins have always been very reliable. just being quiet and waiting is not the right thing to do right now.

#1 Real development : Check the guthub and if you don't understand how to check the Github find a friend who can show you.

#1.2 If there for some reason is, some excuse that the github is private and that is why it's empty, you are probably dealing with "Scammers". Avoid.

#2 Solves a problem/Creates value in the space : Look for a coin that is doing something that makes sense from a business perspective "does the model of this coin make sense" "Is this coin attempting solve an existing problem that is relevant to enough people to make the coin relevant".

#3 Low Supply : There is nothing wrong with a coin that has a large supply. 1 billion coins can be way too many or just enough depending on what they are attempting to address (#2) But between 10-100 million total supply is what I aim for. Now try not to mix up circulating and total supply and if the total supply is large but the circulating supply is small, depending on the inflation rate this could be a good short term hold (For traders..).

#4 Low inflation : This is 4th but it could be #3 also, low inflation is very important! the higher the inflation the more money that needs to flow in to the market cap to maintain current price.. less buying then selling on top of high and even low(If selling is really bad) inflation is going to constantly push the price down.. this is especially true for any coin that is mined, as electricity plays a role in "Sell offs" go for coins with low inflation 1-5% per year and or periodic gradually reducing inflation for eg 1st year 10% 2nd year 9 untill 1% is reached then 1% indefinitely.

You can't give all your time, you also need to evaluate if the one you are holding still has that potential so you can consider its real value.
If the team leave the project, that means the project is dead and your money will be loss, with this long struggle, its not impossible that the budget for development will be wasted since investors are not appreciative.

I belief that anything that can be used as money can be used as a store of value, those who are saying bitcoin was never created for hodl don't know what they are saying, i know bitcoin is not stable but its usefulness makes it more demanding as it is today, same as other few good altcoins

But people suppose to hold because they believe that the market will make another ATH and they are expecting that since last year. It is just sad to think that we've lost up and see no chances of having it again. May it was a fool of holding (shitcoins) coins/tokens by now and I really disappointed how it turns like that. Thus, holding isn't a guarantee to make money but sometimes it also a way to lose which I mistakenly think is right.

Learning trade is the best decision instead of holding many coins. If you can't trade then learn it, achieve it. Hold only Bitcoin and Etherem, sell when you get profit and buy it again when the price goes low because it's crypto, the price will go lower surely.

Very straight to the point 👍, but I don't entirely agree that hold is for lazy people. Sometimes hold is favorable but in very few circumstances. Reason why I like your opinion is because I make more profit from trading than holding, even though nowadays trading is less profitable but I don't always bother much about price decline since I'm always on USDT pairs with a stop loss set. I wish to see the good old days come, when holding was really profitable. I remember making a fortune from holding ADA and XVG which later dumped madly.

Hold in Cryptocurrency doesn't mean you are holding it forever you are holding it for profit and as long as you can and will release when the right time comes, the only coins worth holding forever or long terms are the top  5 coins in the market, but for new coin be sure to make profit first before holding long term.

Why are you even holding a coin that is not valuable. Holding is not applicable in all coins, there are only coins that are suitable for holding. I see many people who losses because of the term "holding". They are hoping too much that their coins will become valuable in the future even if they know that they hold worthless coin. We should only hold coins that have high volume and market capitalization like ETH, BCH or XRP.

Based on the list of altcoins, my only holding left is PundiX. Some of the projects are probably dead by now or if not no liquidity at all. Anyway, I am pretty sure some of the people who hodls these are now regretting cause the huge slump is really hurting when the transition from bull run to bear is really a down turn for us. Hoping NPXS can rebuild its price before cause I'm down a very huge value during the time I bought at almost ATH.

Personally for me holding is an old strategy. I was thinking that holding a particular altcoin could guarantee much higher reward, but that's not the case we have anymore. Most altcoin are constantly using the coin swap strategy to cut people off. I was disappointed when I tried sending one to my tokens only to be told that its now useless as the coin has been swapped. I sincerely wasn't away of the swap notice

If you were using bitcoin by the year 2016, you could've said the same thing that there is no such growth anymore. Once after experiencing such a big growth everyone believed their is more to happen with bitcoin. I believed there is growth to happen, but I don't know when this will take place. Surely we'll experience a price higher than the present ath that's been reached by each and every cryptocurrency in the top list.

You're not the only one experiencing such disappointment for the price of our assets. I didnt bought any of my coins on its ATH, however I missed the chance to sell since I thought the bullish trend will not be over for a short period of time. Now been waiting for alts bull run and holding until it happened. Im still bullish for crypto so will hold until the bull run occur again.

Oh man... From 2015 and how an earth you ended up with those from all the coins out there?
Now i don't think i can give a best financial advice but i see only 2 of those having a future, those being 1 and 10.
But since this is a crypto, you don't have to always believe into project for it to be have a successful pump for your exit so maybe plan ahead and don't do anything
out of the frustration.

I guess i should ask that how much of % loss you would do if you left those now, but i rather start with the question, what do you think is worth investing now to get back your money?

if you do it for the long term it never hurts to hold the coin, even if you miss the best opportunity in 2017 where you should sell your coins. but you still keep it. no problem other opportunities will come you have to wait and see the price of market movements and if bulls like 2017 come again you should make a wise choice.

let it go and sell all that coin, except npxs  , but you can still hold and make a bet the price will bounce someday or u will lose more

I have learn from experience, don't hold any alts for too long instead of taking profit when you had the chance to, that is a big mistake i made and i regret doing that but not anymore, now i have come up with a new strategy to hold, sell 80% and hold 20% this way i have my investment capital and profit,  and remaining 20% i will keep incase project becomes successful.

When you hold your coins always make sure you check market movement from time to time so that you won't miss out and OP's fault is he or she failed to sell when bullrun was alive.

Every eos holders are glad for still holding till date because this type of altcoins have real use cases, coins that you can't hold for long term are weak projects, when they lose value they find it hard to climb up again, few altcoins are better hold for long term DYOR
