For me, i think holding tokens or coins could've give us advantage and also disadvantage, the advantage is it would help us to be patient and wait until our profit meets our demand to sell what we hold. But the disadvantage part is that we ought to gain more and it's the reason for still continuously holding and time comes to worst that until we can't gain profit anymore. So, holding could give us advantage or disadvantage.

Is NXPS still even operating? I thought it had been delisted in several exchanges already due to its stagnant progress. Defi Projects are the ones that are worth holding for long term investments I guess due to its limited supplies and some other features that the traditional platform can't offer. With increasing numbers of defi projects coming out almost everyday with innovative ideas and benefits it surely make it more valuable in a long run.

Most times the coins we complain of is altcoins. It is not all altcoin that is good for hodl. You try to avoid shit coins because they look good when pumped but when the whales drops theirs, you see the altcoin crash to a level you will be discouraged and not to sell. That coin can stay down below your buy price for more years that it was released. It is just a risk to hodl altcoins.

I still believe HODL is the safest strategy to use, so I never thought that trusting HODL would be stupid. As long as we can control
the patience we have, HODL coins should be profitable for us. Many holders experience losses after holding coins, it's because they

It is not the HODL thing that makes things problematic here but it is "Your Attitude of being Greedy" you have not contented in Good profit that the altcoin season brings you in 2017-2018 instead you desire more and more.

Exactly, its not wrong to hold if that's what you believe the best strategy to gain more profit. But if you're holding despite the price is already acceptable to take profit then its your choice and decision to keep holding.

The strategy of holding is not for everyone who dont have patience to wait for the right time to sell. Plus this is only applicable for established coins that are unlikely to be delisted in exchanges.

Holding (or better say, hodling, as we mean guys that do not sell alts and BTC for a long time) has sense. Cryptocurrencies are on the way to the peak of their popularity and fame, and nothing can stop them. Almost everything will soon become “more virtual”, so hodlers will make their profit.

We might all made same mistakes, there’s really no assurance in every investment to generate profit even if you did your research in the first place. I also hold some of those coins but I already gave up and moved on, they are now souvenirs from the past. I realised now that there are only few decent coins to choose in the market that are worth holding, I’m very picky with my investments now.

With cryptocurrencies and with other forms of investments there is no assurance of return of the investment in multiple. Everything is based on calculated prediction and trust. At times hodl gives good reward, even with the unfamiliar cryptocurrency. The market is a gamble, and people require good understanding to differentiate hodl.

Never take the risk of holding coins that have no use cases, always use the principle of "if I use these coins in my daily life, then I will hold them" holding coins that have no use cases will only make you lose money. The increase in the price of the coin was only due to hype.

well that means you have to have coins that are really widely used by other people and have a very high volume because we all know that the use of coins will have an impact on the price so that when coins such as bitcoin for example have a lot of use and have very little supply it can give a price which is very expensive and provides a profit for those who have bitcoin.

Currently I only hold three coins, bitcoin, x42 protocol (this will be my biggest winner I am quite sure) and stratis, which I will probably sell because I really hate the whole 'strax' idea.

If you believe in a project, no only in what they promise but what they have delivered, you should definitely hodl. At least imo.

I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

Most of these coins you holding have lose biggest value today, I feel sorry for you pal, I always love to hold coins for long term too but I don't think I can anymore, the biggest mistake a investor can do in crypto space is not taking profits, my advice is to always invest for short term profit, I've lost huge money to crypto all in the name of HODL and I don't plan on repeating such mistake ever again

I agree with you, holding crypto coins is still a valid investment strategy in my opinion. The coins I am holding for long term are Bitcoins and ETH at the moment, smaller holdings in other cryptos I would trade more quickly. The thing about constantly trading your coins is that you have to pay a lot of transaction cost and you need to keep finding new investments. I think it's very hard to be better than the market constantly, so I just prefer to hold my coins instead of being forced to rebuy at a higher price in the future.

Actually i had a big amount of shitcoin that still in my wallet because i Lose the chance in 2017 when i bought it today while pumping and suddenly
 i fell asleep and when i woke up?the price is peanut compared last night so instead of selling i decide to hold them all.
sad that time i don't know how to use Bot and Stop and Loss so i learned my lesson and never invest in shitcoins again.
instead of those coins i rather Buy ranked currencies though the movement are much slower than the said currencies.

The only reason to hold is when you trust the project, at some point those are good projects that is why OP was attracted to invest and hold but their value now have really dropped significantly, if you look at how it has fall, you can see that they are almost dead and has no chance of recovering anymore, however, it always depends on how we see the project as no one could really ascertain its future, it's just a big guessing game.

When it comes to Hold in crypto currency, believe me you are on your own. Hodling means different things to different crypto currency traders or investors.
For me, i see hodling as a situation where you are being smart and worry about yourself alone. I always believe in hodling until you are able to take profit . always do your own research.
