This is why I am very sad I was forced to use my bitcoin at the beginning of this year when I had 1.6 btc now I have less than 0.10 I had to pay for things and I didn't want to sell but I had to. This is why I try desperately to make as much more as I can. I want a whole bitcoin again. So I diversify and work at many different places at once. I get paid in bitcoin this is why I always sell and not buy.

But the other thing is that it's very true.  Even now, with bitcoin's price tanking, owning a whole bitcoin still could be life-changing for people in poorer countries.  I'm pretty sure there are places in this world where $7500 is more than a year's wages.  Even for a person struggling financially in a developed country like the US, Canada, or somewhere in Europe, that amount of money could definitely get them out of a hole. 

The problem the CEO is not mentioning is that for the above population, getting that 1BTC in the first place is probably not an option.  For people who aren't struggling, owning that 1BTC might not ever be life-changing unless bitcoin's price shoots up to $100k or $1 million, and who knows if and when that's going to happen.  Most of it has to do with demand, and there's no guarantee that demand for bitcoin is always going to be high.  I hope it remains high, but nothing is certain.

I certainly would agree to his statement. 1 btc isn't jist a small amount, especially when bitcoin finally reaches its peak or highest point. Here in my country, which is a third world country, when you convert 1 btc, you already do and buy a lot of things there, what more if the price increases. It can really change your life depending on how arr you gonna use it. A lot of people and families here are struggling to survive, and holding a bitcoin is enough for them to supply their needs.

That statement (title) depends on how much 1 BTC is worth.
Imagine if it was back in cents days where nobody knew what it would become.
You need to be positive and informative about how 1 BTC can turn into some gold mine.

As for instance today worths 8k tomorrow will be around 20k. It really depends on the day you decide to buy / sell.

Earning 1 Bitcoin might be a big deal to a lot of people even for me, in my whole thing in cryptocurrency i don't even earn a amount like 1bitcoin so i thing earning this amount is really a life-changing to a lot of people also the bitcoin market price as we all know is so volatile a lot of people have no problem investing in bitcoin but as we know the market price is already high so we cannot buy a big volume of bitcoin that could make high profit when the market price pump. Considering the total supply of bitcoin, 1 bitcoin might be able to change the life of someone but not everybody.  Bitcoin might have the possible of becoming worth $100k per 1 bitcoin and also it has the potential being worth less than $5k. It can't applied to all the people in society. We are living in different standards.

Taking the risk is not a joke for an average guy who just earned enough for daily living. The risks of hodling will take several years in the process so basically, the amount that will put in BTC should consider as a loss since it will be idle for a long time.

As much as possible, I never suggest to anyone, especially those who don't have knowledge about bitcoin, to buy bitcoin and someday they will have a good profit in return. It's kind of, forcing them into something that might put them instead into depression once they can't handle the risks of hodling.

Of course, I like everyone, at least, to take part in accumulating BTC no matter the standard of their life. However, it's not as easy as what we think even how positive we are in the future of BTC. Brian is just interested to get more money in his pocket, and despite his positive attitude, the idea of "open financial systems" is not something Coinbase can promote as centralized company working under US law.

His articulating openly that he intends to support open finance does mean something, even if it is under the US Law.I don't think mass adoption will come or that cryptocurrency will fulfill its promise without co-opting the existing systems in some way.

The problem of you and most others here in the forum (or in general) is that you admiring individuals who do nothing but get rich under the slogan "We are for Bitcoin!. What Brian is saying is that we need to buy more Bitcoins so he and his mates can get more money from fees.

I am not an early adopter and  couldn't care less after the intial 2017-18 craze whether BTC or crypto makes me rich or not. This is just one of the many things I'll need to do as an individual if i ever hope to get rich.

1 btc is not really huge amount of money but it's not low amount because if i convert it to my local currency i can buy several important stuffs for my life and to change someone life 1 btc isn't enough for me but indeed if i having at least that amount and hold it for next several years then i'm very optimistic the value will be increase compare to the current price

I wouldn't dispute the fact by coinbase Ceo that hodling 1 BTC could change the hodler's fortune or life, if early investors could endured and hodl for a long term fortunately or luckily for them 2107 was a remarkable year for those hodlers, I also foresee another great opportunities for the present hodlers as the the demand for bitcoin grows and becomes scarce in the future invariably its price would pump to a new highest high.

You're right. The crypto sphere is gradually developing and has every chance of becoming super profitable within 5 years. HODL is reasonable advice, I support it
